🍓🌿Miniature bouquet in a cup🍓🌿

For the cup and saucer, I use polymer clay Fimo Effect Lilac number 607.
I form a cup and a saucer on wooden blanks. I cut circles with cutters. You can order cutters and wooden blanks in my store: www.etsy.com/s...
I line the cup and saucer with a damp cloth.
I remove the cup from the stick immediately after baking while it is hot. Very neat.
I sand the cup and saucer with sandpaper.
For a bouquet I use clay:
Cernit red 400;
Cernit green 603;
Cernit white 027;
Fimo yellow sunflower 16;
Cernit pink 475;
Cernit burgundy 411.
I attach the flowers with fimo gel.

I don't understand why the smear of clay on the dowel, before the layer? Wouldn't that make it more difficult to remove after baking? Svetlana or any viewer who knows are welcome to help me with the answer.
