I made this but only used 50g sweetner (instead of 70g) and it was extremely sweet, so much so we could not eat it. I will try again but with maybe just 20g of sweetner to see how it goes. On saying that the texture was lovely and the brownies so very easy to make.
I absolutely love these, I make them with green and black coco powder and OMG they are soooo good. My last batch was my best try yet as i used really fresh eggs so they really fluffed up well. Thank-you soo much Donna for this amazing recipe, I shared it with my slimming world group last taster session and they loved them also.
I'm definitely going to do quite a few of your receipts but is there anything I can use instead of the artificial sweetener? Could I use honey. I know it would be extra sins but I've got fibromyalgia and I'm trying to avoid sweetener. Or perhaps a sprinkle icing sugar on the top?
when I made them I'm one of the people who found them way too bitter, so I had them warm with a banana and fat free yought on to combat the bitterness. then the following day I had banana and Nutella (totally worth the syns) and it was absoutly delicious!
Hi. Currently obsessed with this channel. New member of Slimming World and loving it so far. I've just made these brownies and they were far too sweet. Like gip worthy sweet!! I thought it might just be me at first so I asked my hubby to try them and he said the same. Like an overpowering sweet! I can't eat anymore they're that sweet. Could you tell me what I might of done wrong. I followed all the measurements and the same Way you did it but all I could taste was sweetener. Thanks in advance :)
SuperButters90 Hi, i do find that it tends to depend on the brnd of sweetener used. For example the natural ones like stevia leave a bitter taste. Its just about finding the right sweetener/amount for your taste. Try halfing the sweetener next time & go from there. HTH & thanks for being obsessed with my channel ;) x
i made these and the bottom of the brownies when cooked . looked like it had not cooked properly .. about 1 cm at the bottom is like an omelette while the rest is perfect .. any ideas why xx
Try more sweetener in them. I much prefer a real chocolate brownie but the syns are way to high so have 1 square of this when i need a choc fix. They are more like dark chocolate which is always bitter but gives you that cocoa hit.
Love your recipes. I've made the lemon drizzle cake and the more I've made them the better I've gotten at them. Thank you.
You're welcome x

The video list on the right is looking rather wonderful. Very, very excited about your channel.

+Sasha Robinson I think it depends on the brand of sweetener but i love the banana & nutella idea :)
congratulations linda.Omg those brownies looked amazing!
They taste pretty good too. The bournville cocoa powder ones certainly satisfy that chocolate craving :) xxx

Sounds like they need a bit longer.
Donna Dyble I have also had results like this, if I left them longer they would burn at the top
hi,
at the risk of sounding silly does this mean the whole thing is only 12.5 syns
Could you eat this as a mousse do you think? or would you need to add gelatine? x
+Slimmer Sammie Never tried it that way 😕 x
They have raw eggs so no. There is a chocolate mousse recipe on google though with no eggs
These look so yummy. Going to have to try these X
When I made these, they had a weird texture?! Is that normal?
does canderel taste nicer than Aldi sweetner, as i made this using Aldi version and it was far too sweet.
+willywonker83 I use Lidl sweetener which i find the nicest
Well done Linda! X x x
Do these have an eggy texture
I don't think so personally
Can't wait to give these a try :-)
Let us know what you think Maria xxx
70g is almost the entire jar on Candarel, is that correct?
+Eireen Moore Yes Eireen. Use less if you don't have a sweet tooth.

hiya, i take it they're not 1/2 syn now that you have to syn the sweetener x
Yes always check syn values as videos could have been filmed long ago x
