Douglas county is one of the wealthiest counties in Colorado. It's not too hard to figure this one out. They have to squeeze where they can to recoup for major losses. As for living under an HOA? Forget it.
Feels like all new homes and apartments being built in the US are all under HOA since 2020. Can't seem to get away from that cost just like everything's turning into subscriptions and not one time payment. 😢
❤😢This is legit one of my biggest fears with getting older and in my first home the HOA was 425 a month when I moved in and by the time I sold it was 250 a month because houses were completed. But now the new HOA in my 1200sq foot retirement home is a yearly bill which goes which only goes up each year. So if I retire as a single secretary, and I'm on a strict income, what in the world am I going to do when this happens to me? Because the US as much as I love this great nation; doesn't seem to care about its citizens who make less than 100k anymore. Where all suppose to retire out of our country or something? I don't get it😣 Spending a lifetime working to pay taxes, fees, & medical, is not how I saw my life going while working 24/7 to pay for my college😅😣😥
They want to blame property values and "weather" events but when companies effectively don't want to ensure certain areas they increase rates to levels unseen. Why don't they want to insure? Defunding police, weak enforcement and criminal justice, over regulation and losses in other lines of business like auto (thefts), business thefts, uninsured motorists.Blame the greedy insurance companies or self insure. Otherwise vote in responsible leaders who will improve conditions for insurance companies to even consider taking the risk. There is no law requiring any company to offer insurance especially when so many existing laws are ignored for virtue signaling.
No what in the hell do defund the police have to do with insurance? If that's the case let's put Moms for liberty and Proud boys down. for the potential hike insurance rates.
So True! Sadly politicians lying and not fully committing to what they say once they get elected has become the norm and it doesn't phase people anymore😢
Florida is the same they’re pushing people out of their homes, it happens in the over 55s as well people would set incomes now I have to figure out what to do if they work and make too much to cover the expenses then they get punished, so how are they supposed to Cover the difference?
Consider, if you own your stand alone property outright in CO, free and clear, and don't have to pay a mortgage, Insure for liability so you are covered if someone is injured on your property. Consider also not insuring contents, insure for max deductable i.e. 10k, in case of worst case scenario for the replacement only. Then put this money away and pay out of pocket for repairs yourself. If your insurance is 7k a year for 10 years that's 70 k in your pocket for repairs. Don't be owned by an insurance co. God help the people that don't have those choices. When our insurance comes up next spring we will be considering these options after much research.

Our leaders' greed knows no bounds. I have the same fears.

This is criminal. No company should be able to do this out of nowhere.
I don't like the people of Castle rock, so in general I don't feel bad for the people of Castle rock

Don't ever live in an HOA community
Welcome to the 21century insurance rip offs‼️
That's horrible, you are stuck if you own there because you will not be able to sell with fees like that either
