- Hello everyone, I've been using Affinity apps (Affinity Designer 2 and Affinity Photo 2) since few days. And I really started to like them. Best part is that it is not a subscription model, means we can buy it once and that's it. So you tell me should I switch? but there are some issues here, for which you need to watch this whole video. Please give your suggestions in comments.

I'm myself an Affinity Designer and Photo user and so far, its great!! But recently I acquired a great advice from a recent video posted by Satori Graphics which is that the software is just a medium/tool, it's actually the knowledge and practice of design knowledge and having the mindset and eyes of a designer, which in my opinion, everybody has. Everybody has the acumen for design, it's just the fact that most don't exactly get the proper guidance (such as visual exercises and learning through other's works by reconstructing them on your own) and constructive criticism to promote proper learning and growth as a great designer.

As you said in video that nobody will ask about software if the result is stunning .
if youre working in a industrial studio pipeline then you hve to stick tov a specific software such as in vfx adobe after effects or premier pro is needed and photoshop is a msut for masking out details0 similarly there are pipelines dependent such as 3ds max supports vectors for splines in adobe illustrator .ai file only. they added vector support only recently. also maya and houdini are dependent too in pipelines with tools so always see the pipeline and demand and tool compatibility and your own skill too if you can work with it or not

Yes you have to switch Affinity products. Although it's not as good as Adobe Products but based on their prices I 200% recommend and I am using them from 2 years

Salam Sir. Been watching you from years and still you're going hard! Sir, one thing I'd like to add is, Adobe is also invading the user's privacy. I heard a Adobe Certified designer telling that they can use your projects to train AI. No doubt, Adobe is best among other softwares in the market, but unfair pricing and invading user privacy would make a lot of people quit.

Experts can make that kind of decision but for people who are learning or at their beginner level I don't belive they need to switch. Because Affinity is the new boy in the town it will take time to reach the level of Adobe.
To be honest, I would prefer that everyone works on the software they like and can work with more creatively. As you mentioned in the video, it's about creativity and the quality of the design output. So, whichever software suits them best should be the one they use.

Sir, i have been using affinity products for long and it is good. Along with adobe product it is a plus point. I hope you learn davinci resolve. It is one of the best video editor with cinematic grading. Alien romulus was graded in davinci.

Worth it hai.. We should switch
Adobe is so vast (US mega cap) that one cannot match it's features. But we don't need much. I tried for few minutes and realised that it will take some time learning like switching from windows to macos or android to ios. Buts its definitely a game changer when adobe is actually going rougue.
I have already purchased the whole suite on Black Friday. Before that, I was on 6 month trial. It was good decision. I am very much satisfied.

Pretty much these tools are inspired from adobe. Adobe have whole package integrated with each other seamlessly. And there are so many other 3d tools which also work perfectly with adobe ecosystem. The only down side from adobe i felt as you mentioned are prices and dropping the perpetual license. But again if you are earning through adobe tools the more adobe increases prices the more we increase our prices to client 😉

I have bought it as it is currently just few cents more than adobe creative cloud one month Indian price. Worth it, Price to Performance/Utility.

For starters affinity is a good choice ( if consider money as factor) 😅
for pros and who want to show off Adobe is okey ( keep in mind the subscription chart too) 😁
I bought it when you a made a video on Affinity Designer 1 and trust me it was the best decision, I really like the interface and workflow of the Affinity Designer but several options are missing and for that we can even use AI older version. Do not switch completely but one by one like first on Affinity Designer and then make a decision if one wants to move on Affinity Photo. It is not that expensive to buy...
