Loved seeing Josh in his element as the pirate of Penzance. A true bucaneer with his crew and lucky charm Marley. What an imprint on Talula's life! Bonita is a champ. Bravo!
Way to go!! Nicely done! Those seas looked gnarly!! Love how you didn’t put a backing track to the visuals of the confused ocean You just let the roar of the seas speak for themselves…ferocious! Nandji II, Cap & Chief handled it like a champ. 💪
Fantastic!! A great video with a real sense of what it was like to sail that passage. The scene with Yosh preparing to gybe when the wind first picked up was ace!! Well done everybody x
Wow! What a great crossing to Madagascar. Fantastic job getting it on video. You got tossed around a bit goin up and then broke dawn with a calm sea and a fresh catch! Perfect! So cool to see Nandji 2 riding those seas like a bicycle in the park ;-) She really seems ready for anything! You must feel sooo proud after all the hard work and smart upgrades you've put into her this year and tuned her like a guitar. Well done Trident Trio!!! 🙏❤️🤙
Hubby and I’ve been watching since the beginning. What experienced sailors you both have become! We LOVE your channel cause you’re the real deal. We are not sailors but love to see it really happening. You and the old seadog are the only sailing channels left in our subscriptions! Sail on and God Bless!
Well Done Yosh and Bonita, braver than me in those big rolly conditions. Nandji sailed and handled those seas so well. Bonita I assumed the mental build up became exhausting for you, and the relief of arriving unscathed would have been very comforting, you did it, you finally made it. 🎉 Yosh the Madagascar sailing boats are fabulous!
I am sure you can appreciate the increased size of your boat from the last one. Great vlog and those waves look big. Good to see you tethered in! Stay safe!
You’ve done yourselves proud kids..a great accomplishment!..this a wonderful viewing video with outstanding editing! It’s like one with the lot!..has it all..stay safe all..🇦🇺
Hi Josh, very nice trip planning. just one advice: before tacking, move the main closer to the centerline so that it does not go to the other side so drastically. After the turn, you can slowly let it out again. Fair winds!
It's amazing how fast Nandji 2.0 sails with minimal sails up with the wind on a starboard broad reach clipping along at 10 knots. Fasten your seatbelts! What a riot!!!
Nicely done! That was some knarly sailing around that cape but certainly worth it on the west side. Nice fish Yosh! Nice half fish too! Just a reminder of whos water your in! Enjoy Madagascar!😊❤
That was very cool, loved those moments with just the wind and ocean sounds. Hoping to come down to the dock when you are in Cape Town to see the boat and say hi. Please update on instagram closer to the time.
Hey guys...g'day. Been watching for long time and am wondering where the name, "Nandji" originates. Any explanation for us all? Love your ongoing adventures; you are a great family...love your little one, she's cool. Onward and upward, eh? Later...DS
Nandji was the name of our first boat when we purchased it. The meaning we learnt was a Hindu word for joy, we thought it very fitting for us so have loved the word ever since!!
They could have thrown in the towel after the shipwreck, or after the new baby, or after the implant surgery, and a litany of other hurdles. But they persevered. You guys deserve every ounce of the rewards that come from crossing the Indian!
Hello you beautiful people, hv been following you guys for a long time. Are we right in saying you guys are heading to south africa after madagascar? If so which ports will you visit. Well wishes from port elizabeth, eastern cape, south africa. Kenny and Michelle.
Ha ha. That's what separates sea dogs from landlubbers! It takes courage to bob around in a small boat on an unpredictable ocean with no land in sight.
I really dont think its very safe to carry the dinghy on the davits at sea. Just saying. And I fully expect you will disagree. I have had two very bad experiences with dinghies on davits with THAT ONE big wave and you need to calculate the weight when full of water.....the voice of shitloads of sometimes hard won experience here...40 years, 206,000 miles...you get the picture...I NEVER do it anymore.
I don't disagree. I did build the davits the height it is for a reason though. The idea is to have it up in the sky and hopefully higher than any wave will break. But yes, i understand your concerns
@FrothLyfeSailingNandji I stopped carrying dinghies in davits at sea after a very bad day in the Gulf of Mexico delivering a 65ft centre cockpit Irwin yacht. A "freak" wave crashed down onto the dinghy , the force of which broke the bow cable, but broke the stern davit away from the boat leaving a hole in the aft deck. We had to repurpose a door to cover the hole. The waves were running about 5m, but the big one was at least twice that size. I always carry dinghies upside down on the deck ever since.

Wasn’t it good to watch, Back to the basics of just sailing, I felt like I was in the yacht with them.
Awesome
Gnarly indeed! That's the exact word that came to mind. Just about got seasick watching this wave action.
Fantastic!! A great video with a real sense of what it was like to sail that passage. The scene with Yosh preparing to gybe when the wind first picked up was ace!!

Extra good filming and sea sounds. So glad you have such a sound boat now.
Great work trudging through those rough seas. Enjoy your rest and fun in Madagascar.
Good sailing and a great adventure. The boat looks comfortable and the crew look happy. Have a great time ashore before you sail onward. Cheers!

😂 very aware of how to gybe, that gybe was a third reefed main sail blowing 30+ knots. That’s a smooth gybe my friend
Keep encouraging lulabug's inquisitive nature, it'll take her far in life 👍
Terrific video! Thanks.
NICE WORK !
Great video Nanji 11 looked beautiful sliding thru the waves ,great voyage!
You have huuuge respect from Denmark.
Very well done Capt ! What a passage ❤❤

Nice fish
You 4 were really moving across the water, nice.....LBCko
Cap D'Ambre from the South West on route to Seychelles is one of my least favourite places to be, more often than not I get absolutely hammered there.
Gnarly patch of water
Any reason why you keep the main sheet centered on the traveler instead of moving to the leeward side when going downwind?
Great episode, thank you. Did you make any videos of the French canals, please?
Never been to the French canals…. Check out gone with the wynns 🤘
That was very cool, loved those moments with just the wind and ocean sounds. Hoping to come down to the dock when you are in Cape Town to see the boat and say hi. Please update on instagram closer to the time.
What are those big red "eyeballs" on front of boat for?
nandgi 2 scooting!!
How is Teulah going on this trip. Take care sailing around the other side of the world and stay safe.
Tallula loved it!! She enjoys the Rolly rides! Oh to be young and enjoy roller coasters hey
A confused sea, is that a sea that forgot where it left it’s glasses? 😉😂
Exactly
❤
👍

Thanks 🙏 I guess we are stubborn 😂
What does he say at 2:00 til 2:03? 🤣Australian slang?
🙏🏻...
Why you put rope off back of boat
To help prevent surfing and the stern skidding out 👌
How much cost to clear a dog to a country?
Just an average
Thank you, amazing sailing
😀😀👍👍👍❤❤

Kenny and Michelle.
We are on our way to sa now!! First call Richard’s bay!!
But as a greatest swimmer basically can only swim in 4 feet deep pool ? Where my feet are touching the bottom ! Kind of an interesting video….. 😅
Ha ha. That's what separates sea dogs from landlubbers! It takes courage to bob around in a small boat on an unpredictable ocean with no land in sight.
Take care the dog doesn't get worms from raw fish.
Better check dad too
Not your first rodeo
🤠
