Even on EID, we had gone to eat food from our neighbor. My maid is also a poor lady Muslim. But we give her food and extra holidays. We never hesitate to eat any food she brings with her motherhood. She shares all her emotions.

If you want development,you must welcome outsiders. USA is so advance today because they have welcome all educated immigrants who are contributing in the development of USA. Maharashtra, Karnataka in India is advance because of entry of outsiders. Tiny North eastern states are backward because of lack of educated outsiders. So,the question is whether you emphasis more on identity or development. Moreover outside investment is need of the hour for job creation and opportunities. Private investment will have a vital condition. No discrimination while selecting workforce. It depends on local population what do they want ?

A very good example of real journalism. At the same time a good example of thoughts, dreams and aspirations of the youth from both sides of India and Pakistan,in general and of Kashmir, in particular. What all Mrs. Yana Mir said is completely true. Whatever paints she put forth are based on intelligible distinction like - a culture cannot be destroyed simply by migration of people, for ex. Mumbai in Maharashtra. Also she has rightly mentioned that sufferings of people of Pak side Kashmir are simply ignored by common public of Jammu and Kashmir or simply left on their fortune for their decision to choose Pakistan.
At the same time, I want to provide some food for thought. 'A nation cannot be built only by borders but by people consisting of it' - this was a statement/ quote by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. What was wrong in that ? More or less, After 75 years of Independence, we are able to achieve it. Whatever we are today is simply because of a strong foundation and democratic traditions that Mahatma Gandhi and Pt Nehru created.
In a nutshell, religion couldn't be a base partition because a nation can be built by it's people not by religion.

The problem with Pakistan is that they are India focused. They should be Pakistan focused and all energies going towards making their country better. Unfortunately all their energy seems to be towards what could be wrong with India. India doesn't care what Pakistan thinks. We are focused on our country and its growth and as a consequence our personal growth. Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Parsi and anyone else doesn't matter. India and being Indian matters.
