Next time in Utrecht let us arrange a meal for you, this was really sad 😂. There are some restaurants open after 21.00hrs. It takes some research of you don’t live here. Great show @tivolivredenburg, thanks for that👏🏻.
Even though I am not a James Hype song fan (yet), I am a fan of you as an artist (DJ) and communicator. You (and your team) show the effort and dedication needed to be in the "top food chain". Thank you very much for showing that the music business is not only roses and requires a lot of dedication, love and resilience. For that, I am undoubtedly your fan. Kudos Hype fam.
As a DJ getting back into the scene and music production after 10 years of nothing, very refreshing to have found you, I've been watching for months, listening to your music for about a year. I see anything different in James and the way he and his team, well.... Move.
The gems he drops at the end are so real, I started releasing a remix every week at the beginning of the summer and had one blow up right before I started livestreaming myself making a remix a day for 30 days . Grew my audience on this platform 26K just off the consistency. Solid gems in every video mate.
I've been producing and DJing for 13 years and I needed to hear these gems of advice. This year has been the most consistent year as far as content and music is concerned, but I feel like I could've done better still. The advice was super helpful, man. I appreciate you talking about it because it doesn't get talked about enough. Much love always to the whole crew! WHO DOES THIS?
Yeah I do absolutely agree, that hard work and consistency is the key to get successful at any craft. As he said you need to keep the momentum going, never stop. Only by sticking to these principle, may you reach great success. Another aspect, that in my opinion is holding many people down is staying doubtful regarding one’s potential. Many people (and I am no exception) have a hard time believing in themselves. Saying things like: I am not good enough, too much competition, I will never reach that level, it’s pointless, etc. So another very important thing in my opinion is, to learn to believe in yourself, making yourself to the goal no matter what, with no excuses and staying determined, consistent and real hope, faith and believe in one’s self and God
In my first years as a producer (2014/15) i've used to make a new remake every week, my youtube channel was growing and i was competing with others with bigger channels doing the same stuffs. It was obv a way to train my production skills, copying what other were doing. In 2016 suddenly the channel was deleted (prob for copyright issues, i still don't really know, but all the stuffs were deleted and i lost every single sub i gained), in the same time i was changing my style and approach on doing music, so also doing remake, due to heavy criticism. I've probably lost that train in that moment, i was really young too (14) and still today i didn't make it even after some satisfactions, but nothing real to say it's my work now. So i think that i've already knew what the secret was but i've surely commited the mistake to pay too much attention on what others were saying. Let's see what the future brings for us!
I love how James's friends and team have stayed with him from the start and how he still shows respect even after all the fame and money. James Hype is my favorite DJ and he inspired me to start DJing. I am 14 so I can't really go to any clubs, but until I become of legal age, I will perfect the decks. Thank you so much James. You are a true hero.
This was solid advice. I needed to hear this, especially for someone who is transitioning out of the corporate world and into music. Compounding consistency will naturally build quality. I wish I had learned that 29 years ago but hey there is no better time than now. Happy belated birthday and keep it up. Can’t wait to see you live in the States again next year.
I'm doing exactly same. 29 y.o. and fed up with corporate life. Back to my passion to music and djing. Posting Reels with my mashups at least 3 times a week
You are an awesome dj man. Really. I've been a dj a decade ago, in the time of cdj100 to 1000mk3, and Roger Sanchez was my fav dj and his videos made me learn and become a dj. Now i see all this player, all digital, like the 3000nexus is amazing and dj's just mix 2 songs. Incredible. Then i found some of your videos, and it all came back. I want to mix again, i want to dj again, after seeing you dj. That is the true love of music, the art of dj'ing. THAT is what a dj should be like. Great skills and creativity, and practice, and devotion. Keep up the good work. Thank you... 🙏
Love this Vlog series. So original and so real. You have a great team and you all make the videos entertaining. James you are different class and an inspiration to myself and many others. So cool having the hype fans with you and you’re always giving them your time. Amazing advice too, thank you 🙌🏼👏🏼🎧
Once again, it was an amazing set and wonderful energy you gave us at Tivoli in Utrecht! I'm so thankful I could see you and hear you LIVE! 😍 And it felt really special because it was your birthday! 🙏🏼 The whole world should already know who James Hype is! 🙌🏼🔥🙌🏼🔥🙌🏼🔥🙌🏼🔥
It was so cool to see you live again in Kerkrade. Amazing show!! (I was the guy with the white homemade "who does this?" shirt 😂) Thank you for your signature! 🔥
Consistency is indeed one of best advices for success in music and literally in any area, and one of the points I struggle with the most! Great points guys and btw, I loved how you vibed in Utrecht! UUUUUUUUUUU!
I film every time I practice DJ and put up on social. It's not great but it's a start and it's fun to have a whole history line from the start! so if you are struggling and worrying about not being good enough for social, just see it as your like memory lane for future fans to go back and see where you started! and for yourself to see the progression :D
1. Estilo propio. No seas una copia. 2. Hazlo ahora. ¿Estás de viaje? Trabaja en tu música. ¿Estás viendo a la familia y tienes un rato para ti? Haz música. 3. Constancia es más importante que calidad 4. Haz cantidad: hacer 1 remix cada semana, subir fotos y vídeos 5. No pares
You are more than consitent and different James, your a genuine top lad and you havent let popularity change you.. same goes for RE-WIRE, rashun, and even walace, all great people. god bless you x
Consistency is the key. After watching one of your videos on Instagram where you answer a small interview, we're inspired to create consistent content while keeping our universe. Speaking of social media and fan engagement, how the hell has this channel only got 500k subs... keep up the video diaries James, they are a real treat!
Hey .. I'm from Guyana and i watch your videos .. love your music ❤and this video made me feel like i can push more with music because i'm scared if people think i'm trash.. but thanks to what you've said... i'll give it my best shot everyday. Thank you.
Incredible episode. I'd love to hear your opinion on how to start music production (tutorials/courses/universities) and how to develop your style as an artist in the musical realm. I'm practical on video, but really not in music production.
He might not respond, but I'm here. After producing for almost 10 years I can tell you the only way to develop your sound is to sample your own sound, how you make this? Finish tracks, and then sample everything from that track and re-use in another track, and repeat. This advice comes from Loopers in a masterclass, and it makes so much sense, I've had my own sylenth bank for a long time and my layerings kind of sound similar through the different processes I have making music, if you make your own, that will happen to you as well. Pick your favorite sounds, use them, repeat, re-sample.
Happy birthday. And thank you for the Tips. I playing nearly every day on my turntabeles in my livingroom, but without streaming. Now i will streaming all time.
the helicopter definetly landed here... just the couple of bars iheard from helicopter sounds awesome.... need to buy it at release for sure... as you said "you have to make it special"
Hey James! I have tinnitus and noticed your ear buds. What are you doing, listening to the music you are gonna mix in and playing your monitors loud? I’ve been spinnin for 25 years always one headphone on and one off to hear monitor but looking for options.
very good transition before the talk guys ! i also need to do more indd JMS. sitting deep in life , feeling unwell this is good to see. Find the true seeker that see's all at once every time , be one whole and grow from that who does this behind the scenes.
Freaking Amazing advice ! Thank you guys - Compound Consistency & Do it Now! It’s so valuable to hear it from James & Rewire - you guys are superstars. With this sharing your experiences & successes you are definitely AWESOME 👏 Wishing that all your dreams/wishes get realized. I am going to start doing this shit 🙏🏽
Great video & great advice for those looking for some traction in the industry. Looking forward to the release of Helicopter. Happy belated birthday - you make me feel old, having brought my first pair of 1210's the the year you were born 😕
happy birthday james! i really really really do appreciate you giving out advice and insights to the community. yesterday i started listening to this video and stopped at around 19:30 because it hit me real hard and i got to act on it. so i did a task that i was about to postpone till the next morning, but instead i did it that time after i paused the video. ended up making a very detailed description of my upcoming song that i need to give to the label. the advice around the end of the video also is really valuable as that is what im trying to do as well and it confirms some of my doubts. i thank u james and rewire and everyone on the team that makes this video possible and happens. appreciate y'all!
James since you are a crazy traveler due to many different sets I highly recommend you get a black card from your preferred company this will allow you comfortable VIP access to lounges in airports all around the world that allow for free food and beverages while you wait for your flights.
Thanks for watching fam, remember real comments from me will always be from my verified account. Report any fakes 🙏🏻❤️
