Never knew none of this. It happens folks. I'm living that now. Been trying hard to get on my feet for the last two years. Covid-19 caused me to lose my job in 2020 that I was on for 27 years. Always showed up for work on time. Got my work done. Didn't take days off that I didn't have. But when it was time to start calling people back, for some odd reasons I was never given that call. Wish I can say God answers prayers, but I've been praying for so long and I never feel the results of it. I also lost my mom 1 months after I got laid off. I know my mom would be terribly disappointed that I feel God won't answer my prayers. I know it would eat her up. Believe me, I'm trying hard to remain positive even when there's so much negative around me.

I speak from experience. My daddy was already dead,, my mama & grandmadied 4 months apart. I was in foreclosure, divorced, 3 kids, was becoming disabled, receiving it now. Lost my house, my navigator 🤣🤷🏾‍♀️👌🏽 my family talked about me. Paid for my moms plot,, had half of the funeral cost, thought family would help.. funeral home donated a pine box & wrote off the rest a couple of months later.. should've cremated her.. My children went to live with their dad for a few years.. I stayed in cheap motels,, on peoples couches,, was almost raped.. my home was open for whomever & I had nobody.. I'm reunited with my children as of last September & in my own place.. Prayer, supplication & Thanksgiving. Command your day upon waking.. pray the whole armor on you.. the Israelite spent an extra 40 years in the wilderness because they complained,, you hear me. Bless God anyway.. His strength is perfected during our weakness. He feeds the birds & they do not sow. His mercy is brand new everyday. Stand on it. Continue in the faith & in due season you will reap. Without faith it's impossible to please God. I blessed God anyways in the face of everything. People can't stand me to this day because I kept my head & kept smiling regardless. I listen to gospel all day to keep me going. I feed my spirit with gladness. No shoot em up movies or negativity is allowed in my spirit. You go in peace and be blessed in Jesus name.

One of the main problems is when you are on top and you have money if you are not careful and you are balling like there is no tomorrow, and will end up biting you in the ass. You get hanger oners, who hang with you for your money, you got family and friends with their hands out picking your pockets and counting your money as if it was theirs, you have shady industry people who screw you out of money and you do bad investments, let alone some that do drugs and have children with random women.
This happens to athletes as well. But these people need to have a level head and get themselves a good money manager to help them through the ropes or take a course on money management so they can keep an eye on their money. Money doesn't last long if everybody is watching it except you.

He's saying Flex homeless is nothing compared to like a Mexico or Brazil homeless because all the knowledge and connections he now has. He's only homeless by Americans perspective but to some 3rd world countries...
Like you homeless sleeping in your 2016 tesla and walking around with a $700 phone.

Nah, that’s not fair to compare or be dismissive of what that man went through. Plus that man had a wife and kids so imagine being homeless with them on his hip.

    • @YaYa-ke1zr

I guess it’s all about perspective. Sleeping on a couch with blankets in a nice home vs sleeping on rocks in the street are two different realities. It’s still gonna be devastating when you were independent and now you are dependent on others.
But Flex will probably be the first one to say that he was blessed to not have to sleep on rocks in the streets of Mexico with his family.

I see his point. It's a graph. I first remember Flex as a dancer with Salt n Peppa during their "Express Yourself" run. As long as you going up you gone take some dips but look how far you came. And he ain't homeless now so he still winning.
Tacky as hell too to ask another man about someone else's finances. He reached but Kelly ain't take the bait.

Tyler Perry needs to get in touch with this man right here. He could be Mr Brown's long lost brother, e-v-i-l twin brother or something 🤣🤣🤣 ... A series by his own self. SKILLS!!!

An overextended investment is a gamble. That’s the purpose of investing your money: only using SOME to see what it does but in ways that you can afford. If you are “investing” with money you can’t afford to lose it’s gambling. I am not saying that you can’t have a bad investment but that’s something that should affect whatever money you put up not your whole livelihood. The problem with our people is that for CENTURIES no one ever taught us ANY fiscal responsibility nor do we have a good grasp of how money works. I remember watching an interview with Eric Sermon about when EPMD first got signed. He said they knew ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the contract that they signed! Didn’t know about tax brackets and what to pay and the irs came looking for them. He said they had trouble with some of the basic mathematics concepts like decimals and fractions and percentages but were signing million dollar deals that included all these things and the breakdown of them but they didn’t understand. Kevin Garnett talked about how all these ball players were the ones skipping class and being the popular ones but missing out on the vital information they needed to know about their futures. Saying how most guys who sign these contracts are those skip class guys and they go out and spend up tons of money thinking it’ll always come in and they will always have it or that nothing will happen to them (like injury). What’s someone gonna do with a million bucks when the most money they have ever seen at one time was 2000 bucks? They are going to piss it away! I knew athletes during my teaching days who would go to the store and buy snacks and stuff like that and then get their change back and just push it into their pockets with not a glance at a receipt or a coin in change counted! That’s who is signing these contracts. They have no idea about how they are supposed to be with their finances. Zero! I hate seeing this but it’s nothing that’s new. The super sad thing is that those of us who DO know about money and have mathematical acuity are not trying to help their brother, they are trying to get over and take from people just like everyone else. That’s why you have to look out for yourself because no one else is.

Thing is a lot of times when you get that first big check, especially when you are young, you think that you'll get another to replace that one so you spend it. Then you get your next pay check, boom, same mentality. And the cycle continues. I look back at my first job with Comcast. My first two week check wasn't but $500/600 but back then when the cost of living was much lower, I had real money on me for once and didn't have to beg anyone to loan me this or loan me that. PS2 cost $600? I bought it. Games $50 each? Let me get all of the launch titles, wasn't nothing. You buy things way beyond your means but hey, you'll get that next check and you'll be alright... UNTIL YOU DON'T. And then you have to pay that car note, and that mortgage, and that utility bill, and that insurance, you know what I mean. That steady income you thought you had easily covered it all but once it's gone, if you didn't save/invest, that debit is gone come at you fast when you don't have income to replenish your account.
