Trevor-- ‐-you need Yankum ropes for a sponsor also! Talk to Chet Larson about how good they are! It still continues to amaze me that you can grow anything in that rock-pile called AZ!
My first visit into your area was to the John Deere test site in Chandler about 1978. It was to observe a ripper working there. It really opened my eyes to what others were facing relative to my Illinois upbringing!
Hi Trev. Tell your men never to overtighten a shear bolt. It actually pre-shears the bolt. Use nyloc nuts and just firm them up. Regards from Western Victoria, Australia. (53 years in the 'game').
@@BalesHayFarmandRanchnoelobs was referring to them Prestressing/stretching the shear bolt by them overtightening the bolt. With shearbolts just tighten so the nut just touches the base metal and stop. They way overtighened it with that cheaterpipe
Hey Trevor dairy farmer from Ontario watching here - love watching how you guys farm ! We only get 3 - 4 cuts of alfalfa up here , no irrigation needed though
For the weighbridge, licence plate reader camera might help. Squeeze operator does not load truck till he has the licence plate number, load number and empty truck weight (time and date) sent from the office.Paper printout or sent wireless etc.
I was impressed you mentioned the self deletion part. Its needed, for our society is lost and our "leaders" are lost and only making things worse. Nice hat.
When working on tillage equipment, it always seems you need a good 4-6' cheater pipe! Heck, once we were changing a manure spreader tire. We used a 6' pipe and both me & my dad were jumping up & down on that thing to break loose that nut. Take care y'all.
That looks like a Wilcox ripper. Now that is a ripper but when I hear all the other you tubers say they are ripping I have to laugh at the little chisels they are pulling.
It’s not that it’s too tight, you have to use a grade 4 or 5. Something not very strong. But Covid made certain things hard to get still!!! So frustrating.
@@BalesHayFarmandRanch Yes the Tow Ball can become a flying object and it will 100% kill someone if it breaks and if someone gets hit in the right spot.
Search for the video of the guy pulling another truck out from the ball hitch. Hitch failed and shot back thru the windshield and thru his head. Use a proper pulling device.
How the hay business in your part of town, here in idaho most everyone is getting stuck with stacks and having to carry em over the winter. Nobody is buying.
Every one of them. We can’t find local white skin people that can work hard. Americans are too spoiled, don’t need the money. So we spend a lot of money bringing men here on work visas.
Please buy some snatch straps for recovery and please don’t tow anything from the ball on the hitch accept a trailer. My friend almost died because the ball stud on the pulling truck sheered off and launched the 2” ball through his windshield. The chain went through his grill and wiped out all his radiators. Was a mess.
Please take this kind advice from experience For safety reasons, please think about putting a weight bag on the log chain use pull truck out of field this way if chain breaks it will fall on the ground verses flying in to the windows of the trucks possibly hurting someone Also, teach your employees to speak English to make them assimilate to our American ways THIS IS NOT BEING RACIST, other immigrants that have live in our country assimilate to our country, Latino people are no different than the other immigrants from other countries and to make sure there is no miscommunication I've seen individuals get hurt on the job several times due to this happening Only English language, one language equal no miscommunication If we went to other countries to work, they would expect us to know their language
Thank you. A lot of people commented on how the ball hitch can explode as well. I didn’t know that could happen. And with the language barrier, that is extremely difficult. A lot of the guys are learning. It’s a slow process. I try to learn a little every year as well. The reality of it is, we need cheap labor. Our margins are so thin, and few Americans will work out in the heat. We are lucky to have these guys. I agree, if we all spoke the same language, it would be safer, unfortunately it is extremely difficult to get to that.
We need to get you back on off the husk, it’s always a good time hearing you guys together
Awesome I used to build Big Valley Rippers in bakersfield calif.till 2008 year of the global financial meltdown. Good luck with your work!

They are great ropes. But they don’t handle sharp edges, or rubbing. I would destroy one after one use.
Great video Trevor
I think the wings folded up helps weight the clodbuster to break up the clods better.
I think you are right.
Old retired Iowa farmer here. There are rippers and then there are RIPPERS! Wow!
Definitely a hard pull!!!! That tractor looks like it almost wants to power hop.
I saw a bit of power hop in one part of the video

Shoot I didn’t know that, likely would’ve saved myself many headaches
That’s what we use, thank you!!
I didn't know that and I'm 40 years in! Top tip thank you

Jeez making big girl power hop! Hard ground for sure
Thanks for everything you do!
My pleasure!

That looks like an R&R ripper! Is it? Good work.great video.rudyc.
It is!!
Just came across your web page……Buckeye ,AZ we lived in Mesa first then Tempe for like 8 years back in the 80’s.
Great video! Keep up the good work
Another good one Trevor 👍
Thanks 👍

Nice hat.
if you get a fassi splitter, you can hook 2 sets of hydraulic hoses to a single outlet. then you just have to flip a switch to change functions.

The ripper is a hard pull for the John Deere, but it is getting the job done.
Those clods are hardpan. That's why you're using the ripper.
A comment for the algorithm "Hay You Say" 🙂
Thank you!!
You need to get some organic matter in that soil
It has dairy cow manure spread on it. But he doesn’t do a rotation of Sudan grass like we do.
I was in the best shape of my life when I hauled hay 50 years ago. Can I come out and buck bales?
Welcome to bales hay and our new sponsor yankum ropes.
Our second cutting Nebraska drought alfalfa was 400# per acre. I think many up here “need hay”
Oh no!!! Only 400? That isn’t good.
That looks like a Wilcox ripper. Now that is a ripper but when I hear all the other you tubers say they are ripping I have to laugh at the little chisels they are pulling.
lol. This thing is a ripper for sure!!
I like how you ask for people to call you if they want to buy. The assumption I made was that you have a full customer base and don’t need more.
We are producers. I can get more acres if I need to. And I would love to put some old farm ground back into production. So yes, we sell hay!
The clod buster looks like it's doing its job but you may need another one right behind it to get the ones it leaves behind from how it looks.
Dirt is what you sweep out of your house, and soil is what is in the field. :) I didn't know that until I had soil science at K State.
Trevor, they should call you ranch.
Cuz you be dressin!
That is some hard ground making that tractor and packer work
Also you need to get a "Yankum" rope sponsorship. 🙂
I'm extremely shocked that F-thing of yours pulled that truck enough to even move it. Hmmmmmm.
Great video Trevor. 🚜🚜🚜
They tighten that front bolt too tight. Bolt needs to sheer and allow rak blade swing back.
It’s not that it’s too tight, you have to use a grade 4 or 5. Something not very strong. But Covid made certain things hard to get still!!! So frustrating.
Looking good boss
You know the Wilcox rippers have stronger shear bolts. I believe they don't pull the clods to the surface the way parabolic shanks do.
shear bolt goes in the back so when point pivots to the rear it comes up not deeper. that is why it was not "even there".
You asked and we delivered
Don't ever hook onto the hitch for a recovery, very dangerous, also look into yankum ropes
Really?? Yeah. I know those guys. But I would destroy one of those ropes. They are strong, but easy to mess up.
@@BalesHayFarmandRanch Yes the Tow Ball can become a flying object and it will 100% kill someone if it breaks and if someone gets hit in the right spot.
what does that soil test for organic matter ?
I have no idea
Great job keep up the good work
Fantastic Riper
Keep ranchin
Leaving a comment because it helps.💯
Thank you, it does help!
👍
Another awesome post Mr Trevor
Thanks again!
You need an old Simba land packer behind that ripper. It would work a treat
started to cut canola in my field of 4Ha with deere 9000 series (in farming simulator 22 XP)
i saw the thumbnail, i instaclicked XD
The roppers are only so wide. It you want to fip the whole field, it would be useless to open the wings on the clod buster.
I like this channel!
Its better the wings are folded for added weight to break up the "soil" clods. Keep it up amigos!
Definitely folded is better for the roller packer... More weight for sure.. seeing that the clods are so big and so dry..
Oi ❤❤❤❤
Hey
What is the difference in a Ripper and a Sub Soiler ?
Search for the video of the guy pulling another truck out from the ball hitch. Hitch failed and shot back thru the windshield and thru his head. Use a proper pulling device.
Reason so compacted because of soil type or from flood irrigation
That, and how many times a year we drive across it, he didn’t plant a rotation like we do. Several reasons.
Soil is a living thing that shit is dirt.
How the hay business in your part of town, here in idaho most everyone is getting stuck with stacks and having to carry em over the winter. Nobody is buying.
It’s ok. Nothing special.
Gov job hmmm, how many of those guys are here legally?
Every one of them. We can’t find local white skin people that can work hard. Americans are too spoiled, don’t need the money. So we spend a lot of money bringing men here on work visas.

The tattoo?
Ranch if you have cows, if you don’t have corn 🌽
Ranch. There you go I said it for you!
lol
Who makes that clod buster
Dave Koenig! I’m pretty sure he’s in New Mexico.
Thanks
I’m shocked u didn’t get blown up for pulling on the hitch ball. Have heard they can come back pretty quick if it breaks.
Really? I’ve never heard of that.

Holy smokes!!! Good to know! Yeah, chains are dangerous. I have a tow strap I should have used.
the on yore hand is hebrew ?
The Millennial Farmer can't say Ranch.
I can see where watching this channel could lead to suicidal thoughts.
Very sweet thing to say.
I comment
nice
Thank you!
Don't you guys check your equipment before you use it! OK I forgot it's hard to keep employees in the desert 🏜 😮🤦♂️🤣✌️🇺🇸
Yep. This thing had already done several hundred acres this year. That ground was hard!
open the one on left
Comment lol
You guys have some horrible soil health. I guess you are always taking organic material away and no sub-moisture to keep the microbes alive.
Man, I thought my soil sucked! Boy Howdy!
This stuff isn’t bad at all. Just looks bad.
That is good. As long as it produces right?
