  • Christina Gabbitas, Award Winning Author, Founder of Children's Literacy Fest Charity and Honorary Member for the NSPCC discusses the importance of informing children and young people in Primary and Secondary Schools of the dangers of knife crime and county lines. She believes that early intervention, prevention and working in partnership with the police and schools is crucial in helping children to become more aware of the consequences of exploitation, being groomed and becoming involved in the criminal activity associated with drugs and gangs.
Christina has launched a new initiative which invites young people to share their own personal poem exploring the themes of Drugs, Knives and County Lines. She believes that poetry has the power to provoke thought, inspire change and give a voice to young people. This idea was inspired by a pupil who wrote his own poem on this topic and sent it to the police following one of Christina's school workshop visits.
