If we were 1 minute late the trucking company would get docked . Now to top all of this off they are starting to get rid of all the mail hauling companies and put it on the spot market with unreliable companies and employees who mostly cant even speak English. The pride of doing quality work at the post office is long gone. Privatize it is the only way to make it profitable or even close to breaking even

If the functions of the US Postal Service were privatized, within a few days everything would change, and people who should have been fired years ago would finally get what they deserve. Government employees believe they are untouchable, even though they totally suck at their jobs.
It's my belief that if the post office privatizes it would be with the stipulation that the existing Union and its contract would go with the privatization. I don't believe anything would change for a very long time, if ever. As a matter of fact I believe it would probably go bankrupt and fold unless the US government took it over again. And of course the government would deem it too big and too important to fail.

Much of that is because of the automation at any cost mentality of management. It doesn't really matter where it goes or how many pieces the envelope is in when it comes out of the machine. The only important thing is that it goes into a machine. They are now doing it with packages also. There was a time when clerks would know which mailing address belonged on which route. They would sort letters and packages to the routes. With automation, the clerks no longer know that information. If the machines send a letter to the wrong route, it may loop back to that route several times unless the carrier breaks the rules and takes it to the right route (assuming it is in the same station).

Usps is useless anymore. Fire all and, or abolish.
Childish nut...
It seems to go from the bottom to the top. I had a grievance with my local post office in Clearlake, Ca. I was given info to file a complaint. The "stupervisor" who responded back to me was the very person i had the grievance with. There was no way to go around him.
I live in Kentucky they can’t even put the right peoples mail on the right peoples box😡
I live in Wisconsin and I get my neighbors mail all the time and him mine.
It's everywhere. The postal worker used to have to be in uniform. Now they just walk around in sweatpants or shorts. It was a decent job at one time. Now it's a joke.
I live in Little Rock and I was sweating bullets that my wife’s gift wasn’t going to arrive on time while watching the tracking app because the package was going back and forth from the same distribution centers 8 times in 9 days. I called and they blamed me saying I must’ve given them the wrong address and they can’t figure out what to do with it and until it gets “return to sender” there’s nothing they can do about it. It finally arrived late Christmas Eve and all of my information was 100% accurate. The problem is pure laziness and apathy, which is an organization cultural issue that comes from the top.
Oh ya, I get wrong mail all the time. It's one number off usually which is a house or two down, or it'll be more rarely a street number off. All of which is just an idiotic, simple mistake to make. Just pure laziness and/or incompetence.
I live in nortbern Indiana and I get mail for all my surrounding neighbors with completely different numbers. Some as far as a mile away. One day we also got all their packages dropped on our doorstep mind you our driveway is 500 feet long. So they have to miss our house number twice and drive to our house and miss it again.

Post office lost 15 pounds box and can’t find. How they lost 15 pounds box it beyond me. It’s not a needle in a haystack
Yep. They “lost” a box that weighed approx 18lb, and the USPS delivery person actually lied and tried to claim she didn’t see it in her (very small) delivery jeep. (We live in a very small town in southeast TN.)
We were given the run-around for over a week and the package was never located… no explanation, no apology.. just SOL. So, all I can tell you is, that delivery person decided she wanted that package more than I did. Hope she enjoying my husband’s 18lbs of Gatorade powder.
Well past the time to PRIVATIZE! The mail service here in south Florida has deteriorated so badly in the last 4 years. Same complaints as the Congressman.
What an arrogant postal employee. It's no wonder he is unable to effectively run the post office. Get rid of him
When you accept nonsense you get more nonsense.
They don't have time for complaints, they're too busy losing everyones mail.
Losing it or outright stealing it
@@denisem1080 six of one, half dozen of the other
Their service isn't!
I hauled mail as a sub contractor for 8 years. The postal system is broken there is huge over staffing problems with no one doing anything but drawing a check i would love to see all postal employees go to a real distribution center and work for a week to see how everyone has to work in the real world. If we were 1 minute late the trucking company would get docked . Now to top all of this off they are starting to get rid of all the mail hauling companies and put it on the spot market with unreliable companies and employees who mostly cant even speak English. The pride of doing quality work at the post office is long gone. Privatize it is the only way to make it profitable or even close to breaking even
Unbelievable arrogance
He should have be fired that instant
Just as soon as we figure out who’s in charge, we’ll fire him. But so far no one has stepped forward to take responsibility.
Every time I get a package 📦 from USPS it looks like it’s been kicked across the country to my house.
They have conveyor systems at different heights. The materials drop/fall onto next conveyor etc. And bad packaging...
It’s simple just use one of the more expensive carriers and pay more
JoBama has ruined everything over the last four years.
DeJoy was POTUS 45 appointee.

DEFUNDING THE US POST OFFICE SERVICES PLEASE
My package that only needed to go 2 miles down the road traveled the entire state a couple of months ago. Chapel Hill> Greensboro> Raleigh> Chapel Hill.
Time to dismantle the Post Office. Unneeded, inefficient, waste of money. Loses money by the millions every DAY.
Privatize it but unfortunately they have a giant pension expense.
@@snuffle2269true that. Make a 5-7 year plan to dismantle. Get rid of DUIs alone. We hold truckers to a higher standard.. why not postal employees.
Funny enough my post office located in the North East US has a 98.2 scan rate and has never done me wrong. In my discussions with the workers there they let me know the scan rate for the West Coast is 50%. Thats unacceptable period!

Wow
Our pobox was $65 a year, I gave it up when it became $200 a year.
And did you know that some companies will not deliver to a usps box-a box rented inside a federal building where mail is kept under lock and key? Apparently that began to happen after HS was created. We didn’t realize that according to HS,
WE were the problem. We thought it was fanatical subversive goons from overseas.
If the functions of the US Postal Service were privatized, within a few days everything would change, and people who should have been fired years ago would finally get what they deserve. Government employees believe they are untouchable, even though they totally suck at their jobs.
It is privatized and has been for years as far as I understand. Or at least in part.
@@steveh7108it is not privatized. It is still run by the United States government.
Whoever ran it would see it as a cash cow cause the government was paying for it and there’ll have other problems
Step 1 : Privatize
Step 2 : Monetize
Step 3 : Weaponize
the post office has lost 2 of my checks this yr. also don't drop mail in those drop boxes. theives have the master keys to them and hit them in the middle of the night.
No one is left behind and everybody gets an A?
It’s not only the PM General fault, it’s the entire system and the terrible management from the 204b to postmasters in the offices. No education or knowledge required to climb the ranks just seniority.
Exactly…the last postmaster I worked with before I retired was passed over 23 times for a position. They finally got tired of him and he ended up in our office. It was a nightmare. He made up the rules for his own benefit. 😢

2024 I had to pay 2 late fees on a bill because it took longer than 10 days for a regular first class letter to be delivered.
👎🏻 USPS. I sent a birthday card to a friend, 4 days before her birthday, who lives in the next town just 10 miles away. It had gone from my main post office to the main po in San Diego, to Filmore, Calif 198 miles away 🤦♀️and finally to its destination. Twelve days! A jackass could’ve done better.
Get rid of all the junk mail.
Junk mail is probably the only thing that arrives on time.
I give the USPS a grade of F. Utter and complete failure. With this guy in charge no wonder USPS delivery is so abysmal!
I only use the post office if I have no other choice. They recently delivered my husband’s medicine from the VA. The only reason it was eventually delivered correctly was because of the person who received it was honest. The post office is a disaster! DEI hiring, employees that are criminals, and massively lazy! The only thing that keeps the post office afloat is the spam mailers. That man is a child and needs to fired immediately!
DEI hiring, criminals? Over 100,000 honorably discharged veterans work at USPS. There is no "DEI" hiring. Everyone is given the same pre-employment test. I love how all the cult members use DEI and woke in their comments. They don't know what they mean, but they keep repeating them 😂😂😂😂😂

1972 a stamp was 4 cents
the only thing I get from them is junk mail and I certainly didn't request junk mail.
@@MichaelHainen-g1m that was also when it was government subsidized. It is now funded only by service fees whether that is stamps, packages, express, etc. You can also then compare the cost of just fuel in the 70's. Can you name one other item that costs what it did in the 70's.

It's weird how questions about qualifications, intelligence, and suitability didn't come up about this fellow in relation to others who share his characteristics. Look at every man-caused disaster, catastrophic ball drop, or failure of leadership in this country, and look at the makeup of the people who were usually in charge. Easy solution. Fire the Postal service CEO.

I've filed so many complaints, yet nobody is held accountable.
Nope. Our Mailman is terrible, he takes naps and enjoys KFC meals in his truck eating up overtime. Delivers our mail around 9pm. The only time we get our mail by 2PM is when he goes on vacation and the substitute takes over. Our building manager complained to him regarding never ringing the bell when there's to sign for a delivery and instead leaving the notice to pick up the package at the P.O. The mailman answer to him was that he was welcome to make a complaint because "they will never fire me". He keeps marking packages as delivered when they aren't, they usually show up some days later but in few instances I had to go to the PO asking about my property and after quite sometime it gets found in the back on someone's desk because they just "forgot".
