Amen to this song, there are too many songs glorifying mothers, and how they are the best at childcare. Well my Dad raised me all by himself, and guess what now I am watching Jon Lajoie videos all day and making insignificant comments on them, SO THERE!
John Lajoie. Always a legend and one of my heroes. Watched him back in 2009 in college and still rewatch from time to time. Hope you’re doing well John. Thanks for the great content over the years!
12 years later... came back to watch this because my wife is expecting with my second child and I'm so excited for 6 weeks of paternity leave to spend with the baby.
What's great about this I was waiting for if it would get dark or adult humour, and yet throughout he's just a really nice guy and a great dad. I was waiting for the punchline but there wasn't one and that's a good thing :)
In 2008 I followed along with this song as Lajoie pointed to the stresses of being a father! Fast forwards to 2021 and now I'm a dad of two boys and I am now on the side of Lajoie lyrics as I feel them under my skin... yet still laugh at the slap stick humor brought on by Jon, the daily dad! 😀😆🤣
Love that Rage Against The Machine ending! "That's right I take care of my children!" "That's right I take care of my children!" "That's right I take care of my children!" "That's right I take care of my children!" "That's right I take care of my children!" "That's right I take care of my children!"
when we and my significant had our second child, I offered to split the parental leave with him and he said,"Fuck that! I would rather be at work!" Lol!
@@mmdirtyworkzwell, that’s the vast majority of men… it’s just that most of them don’t even need to say it like that, it’s assumed since the beginning that dad will go bye bye to work a lot to provide for the family and the mother will still at home taking care of house and kids… even in 2024 the number of stay-at-home-dads is muuuuch smaller than stay-at-home-moms
this has some really well written lyrics in that flow. I mean, it's not perfect (what is, after all?) but this is really good. Also, Rage against the machine.
Probably my favorite video next to "Show Me Your Genitals". He makes a point all the while being ironic, anti-stereotypical (in an ironic way haha), singing/rapping, and showcasing his funnyman skillz. Love it! The last part sounds JUST like something you'd sing along to on the radio. Awesome portrayal of that Mr. Lajoie! ^_^

2008: "that's right i take care of my children"
Not sure what year: You want some of this bitch
2020: "I'll do whatever they tell me."
Yup! If you still playing that game. You in Jail! Take care of dem kids bro!
I'm a new father and this song just slaps harder now.

Dad here, 100% can confirm!
Jon Lajoie is such a giant of a man that made a perfect song like that and also a reference to RATM. Infinite respect and praise from me.

Absolutely amazing. Jon Lajoie is one of my favorite emcees.

Song rocks! I know how you feel about being a stay-at-home dad.
This reads like a how to be dad book
Every year I send this video to my dad for Father's Day (here it is celebrated today)
I'm a stay-at-home dad
I'm on paternity leave
I'm a stay-at-home dad
It's just my baby and me
I'm a stay-at-home dad
While my wife's at work I've got a bottle in my hand and spit up on my shirt
Baby wakes me up around 5 am
Kicking and screaming until his face turns red
He usually tends to calm down once he's fed
So I give him his bottle
My wife gets out of bed
Cook my wife breakfast while she's getting ready
O-oh, o-oh someone's diaper is smelly
O-oh, o-oh it leaked all over his belly
O-oh, o-oh it looks like mustard and jelly
Kiss my wife goodbye while I clean up his bum-bum
It's time for his bath this is gonna be fun fun
I try not to get soap in his eyes
He really doesn't like it, it makes him cry
But if he cries, to make him stop, I've got a trick
I make funny noises with my mouth like this
Then we play pick-a-boo it makes him laugh
I'm a stay-at-home dad
It's a full time job
I'm a stay-at-home dad
But I like it a lot
I'm a stay-at-home dad
During his afternoon nap I watch 'The Price is Right' and I make myself a snack
Cheese and crackers
If I have errands to run I take the van
Strap him in his car seat and bring his baby bag
I always make sure his seat's well strapped in
My baby security is important
Groceries, pay some bills, visit grandma
But I gotta make sure to be back by 4 o'clock so I can prepare supper while I watch Oprah
What should I make tonight maybe some pasta
And a caesar salad my wife will like that
5 o'clock is the time that she comes back
She asks me how my day was
I say not bad
It's all in a day's work as a stay-at-home dad
I'm a stay-at-home dad
I don't take drugs
I'm a stay-at-home dad
I get high on baby hugs
I'm a stay-at-home dad
I like Winnie the Pooh but my favourite Disney movie is the Lion King 2
I also like Ice Age
That's right I take care of my children
How many songs have given lyrics
