Why aren’t your in-laws taking care of their own house? Do you pay rent? If you pay rent the only thing you should have to clean is your kitchen mess and your bedroom? I couldn’t live like this.
So glad the culture where I live doesn't make the wife into a house slave for her in-laws. As adults, we take pride that we don't expect our children to support us.
Just ask her to make herself her own breakfast or just put it on the table. If she refused then it's up to her. My suggestion is just buy exactly what you want them to eat and nothing more in the fridge. It might cause you less headache.
I would have kept the house . Allowing mother-in-law to live in there as long as she was not being irresponsible. I am sure mother-in-law wasted the money from the house.
should have make her pay for rent a low price. you could say no i was joking live on your own. the fact you speak of mother in law shows you still care. should have allowed her to live or rent only when she repents let her live free. that still would been generous. to save face is why you gave her something.
I had to explain to my FIL I will not take my children where they will see me being treated badly. My MIL is a malicious narcissist with schizophrenia. Wasn't that a surprise. I ignore her to her face and it took her 17 years to realize she could not get to my kids behind my back. She stays completely away from me now because of all the times I have innocently outed her in front of the family. So hilarious. I have some great stories lol
yep same kind of family i was in. both side. only diff is grandpa kept all my inheritance ins my trust index fund form birth and it matured when i was 55. to collect it lol I had to do 4 years of phycologist of his choices. if not it went to my siblings. My 3 kids i had before him i was 15. my grand parents adopted my kids then I raised them when i was old enough never readopted them it was a co parenting. like a 50/50 child raising divorce. lol when I turn 55 he interfered with it to spite me. I have no living siblings. to his surprise my kids hate him. and when grandpa died and I turn 56. my kids/siblings got it all. filed divorced and we live together side by side own homes. I never got why I stayed so long. really dont. I was raised traditional servitude to husband. wen moved to America i still could not see it. only when i was in the hospital and all he wanted to know when can i come home to clean and cook. he spilled sugar and its stick is all he said. them when i came home he demanded i move and chores it was a mess. i had a double bypass. he handed me a bucket and mop said i filled the water call him to dump it. then said hurry up so we can start dinner. we means me. year later the counseling would start tbh i flubbed it up to make sure he got zero. and im close with my kids, very close. and i knew what would happen lol. my mother in law was a tyrant always nice nice in front, behind its to make all to hate me. my father in law was a heavy hand man, thru the years he changed full turn around after seeing his son, but to late. his wife became the beater when he got to old. wen i moved in with the kids, i took him with me and he divorces his with for abuse.... he got near everything, she got no alimony no pension for she spent most of it so it was called her share. they both had to get a job, shes fired alot, he working his butt off 2 jobs. and a dog washer on week ends and groomer. only has the skill for we had 5 dogs he learned. we never looked back. but i wish i grew a back bone long ago.

@@rowan5335 thank you true was thinking how it took me 2 years to settle. built a cottage next to my 3 kids. its small single story but I want it to by an affordable for ever home. Im just glad my kids was mature enough to handle the money and not waste it. they did give me some of it. they know why I did it in a way I cant be bullied in to giving to my ex. and ty for the kind words.

I am not mean, but I would not give her any money. Then to top it off she curse her and sold the house her daughter inlaw gave her.
