Another top tip not mentioned Mads, like tucking your trousers into your socks to keep the ticks at bay 😁. Really enjoyed the video with great emphasis on the light and composition.👌
You have a talent for teaching as well as for photography 👍🏻 I love the videos where the headline is not “How to avoid these 5 MISTAKES”….more a general comment concerning TH-cam than specific for you. Keep up your exelent work Mads 👍🏻
Mads, I would have sworn the dear were facing away. Interesting how our brains interpret something which is ambiguous. I liked the way you talked about the light and how you chose scenes with both sunlight and shadow. I have seen scenes like this but usually I don't have my camera along and cannot stop. You put labels on some things that I instinctively feel about certain kinds of composition, and by doing so, you have helped me better understand why some details do matter. Great video!
Either you're telling your age 😂or you have discovered true quality entertainment 😉 👌 in your youthful years! no matter which, thanks for the reminder and make sure you don't let Red Skelton traumaticaly injure your funny bone 🤣😂
great video. Loved the silhouette of the deer and the one of the two deer in the light next to the tree. Subject, light, composition, edit. Such a simple premise but not always simple to do! Always nice to have a reminder that not every photo needs extreme editing! Cheers.
I wish you had not mentioned that you can see the orientation of the deer both ways… They were definitely looking towards me at first and now I can’t stop seeing them looking away!
I thought the larger deer was looking away from your position with the smaller deer looking towards the camera. I liked the title this week Mads as I always have a smile when I see someone asking the question "what are the best settings to capture a particular type of image" as we all know there is no such magic formula. In my opinion the best ingredient is to acquire knowledge, the more you have the more proficient you will be and channels and tutorials like yours is one of the directions I normally point people if I'm asked that question
Enjoying the editing videos. Mainly use lightroom but will look into camera raw too. Only use photoshop for major edits. As you mentioned, not every photo needs a lot of editing and layers.
nice Video Mads! Thank you very much. Maybe someone can give me an advice for a lens decision here... I actually want to switch from the Fuji X-T3 to the Sony mirrorless system, mostly because of the lenses. I actually wonder if I should get the 12-24 f4 or the 16-35 f4 PZ... I only shoot landscapes and whenever I come into the situation also architecture. But it's not that I'd earn money with it. I also take the full system on trekking tours between 5 and 7 days from now and then... Maybe the 16-35 would be the better solution overall? Also because of the simple filters? I just fear that I'd miss the 12mm often. Not sure how often people rly use the 12mm outside though. My only other lens is a 70-200mm usually... Thanks for every comment!
Hi. Great video. I was sure the deer were looking away from the camera. I’m always running across deer when I go out. I never have my dslr camera ready, but I get a few good pictures from my phone. Thanks for the video and the breakdown of your editing technique. I always look forward to seeing your videos.
If I can comment, for the deer picture in the light and a tree, surprised you didn’t tone down the brightness of the tree to give more focus on the deer
Thanks for all the helpful tips. It was very interesting to see how you edit your photos. I'm learning so much from you. Oh yeah, I was sure that the deer were facing away from you, not towards you. Freaky.
Is it just me or @ 1:22 into the video, can you spot the face in the tree. Look to the right tree as Peter passes about a foot above his head. It looks to me as it's looking down a 5 o'clock
Just beautiful shots! Heading to Colorado early July. Hopefully I can capture some wildlife in addition to landscapes 👍🏻👍🏻. Deer is one of those English words that works both as a singular and a plural. I go out in my neighborhood to capture wildlife and I get a squirrel… Mads gets a White Stagg 🙄😁
Great video as always! Love the shot with the deers. I wonder how you managed the exposure in this high contrast scene. You still using the zebra display? I would also be curious to know how important the tripod is personally for you. I would find a challenge interesting where you try to shoot handheld for a day and share with us your experience 😊
No malaria but do you have tics? We have tics all over the woodland and beach area brush, people’s backyards and anywhere deer might go. Every preserve has signs to stay on the trail to avoid tics but you can still get them on you.
Yes, indeed we do, so I make sure to use long non-black pants and stick them into my socks. I keep an eye on the pants regularly and also check myself when I come home. Very important!
Fantastic shots, which I can appreciate even more as a regular photographer of deer (not deers 😊). I wonder whether you ever use dehaze (positive or negative) or stick with contrast and other adjustments?
The fact of the matter is that nobody clicks a "landscape photography vlog #387"-title. Each time I go "soft" on a title the video just flops and that's a week's income out the window. Just like a book, a Netflix show, or any other kind of media I'm in competition with the rest of the platform. Attention craving titles are a necessity, if you disagree and your entire judgement of a video is based on a title and thumbnail even though you know what to expect from me, I'm sorry I do not know what to say. If people don't click the video they don't see it and the irony is that this video has an above-average retention rate and an above average like/dislike ratio. So no, I'll not stop making attention craving titles before people start clicking and watching the non-attention-craving titles, it's that simple...
The white dear photo was amazing. Like narnia
Thanks a lot, yes indeed!
Really good video🙂 I love see that place which is visited by you quite often because it is worth it. Beautiful photos and see you😉
Pictures beautifully taken and articulated!
Thank you. I truly enjoy your video posts and all of the amazing information you are willing to share.
Another top tip not mentioned Mads, like tucking your trousers into your socks to keep the ticks at bay 😁. Really enjoyed the video with great emphasis on the light and composition.👌
I actually answered another person in the comments about how I dealt with that problem and I see we do the same ;D
Already looking forward to next time ❤
It’s the best photoshop course out there. I love it
Thank you for the reminder how important light is, beautiful images.
You are very welcome! 😊
Great tips, always something to take away.
Great images and video as always
You have a talent for teaching as well as for photography 👍🏻

Keep up your exelent work Mads 👍🏻
Great video. As usual. Thank you.
Perfect framing in the first two images Mads 👌 and gorgeous use of different lighting situations, personally loved the silhouette image 👍🦌

Was saying “click click” when the deer in the trees was looking at you! Great photos, so much information from you - thank you!
your videos are always some learning and food for thought, Mads. thanks
You are very welcome 🙏
Looks so magical with the deer 🦌 ❤
Excellent as usual!
Amazing photos! So beautiful and delicate work! No so beautiful the dust in the sensor, that one can see in some images. Thank you for sharing!

Good night & may God bless!! 😊
Loved the white stag, breathtaking 😊
I really like your recent emphasis on how you approach editing. Excellent ! And Thank You…
Enjoy your comments and very concise explanation of your methodology. Orlando Morales
Fascinating to see the whole process. I think the key must is being able to see the potential of a scene - something I am still learning. Thank you
Beautifully captured images and useful tips too! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I liked the way you showed what edits you made and why you did it that way. Very helpful
Excellent education Mads! Thanks.

Thanks a lot and yes, indeed some photos don't need much :)

Thank you, Jim! Funny you perceived the deer photo like that, weird how our brains work 😅
I enjoy your videos. You are clear with your explanations and friendly in your approach. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I look forward to reading both of your ebooks on composition.
You are very welcome, Loretta! Hope you'll enjoy them :)
Excellent video. Great photos. Really appreciate and enjoy your teaching techniques.
Fantastic photo with the deer in the beam of sunlight 👏
Great editing, i love these slight retouches that observer have very little chance spot it.
Very cool deer images.
Excellent video. You are an effective teacher, explaining things clearly.
Extremely informative and interesting.
Thanks, happy to hear you think so 🙏
Helpful information! Thanks
Great job. I’m super jealous of the deer! I’d have filled my card when seeing the little deer step into the light 😊
Enjoying the editing videos. Mainly use lightroom but will look into camera raw too. Only use photoshop for major edits. As you mentioned, not every photo needs a lot of editing and layers.
To go a step further. If these deer were from different species (whitetail deer and mule deer) it would be proper to say deers. English is silly 😂
Thanks Mads, very interesting and and lots of good info. 👍
nice Video Mads! Thank you very much.

I was 100% into, that the deer looks away😂
Haha, I was too at first 😉

Hey Peter, Great Video! You know by any chance how to put your signatures in your own pictures?
Peter, do you use Lightroom or Capture one to organize your catalog? If yes, why did you not use them for such simple editing? Thanks.

If you have a Sony 400-100 lens, do you need a Sony 200-70 lens?
What is analogs?
What location in Denmark
Yes, Grasshopper you are the secret ingredient in the Secret Ingredient Soup. 😂
Talking about subject, I'm missing so much your Iceland content 😋 (But I understand that for some good reasons you don't do it the whole year...)
I'll have some Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland videos coming out in late July and into August, so you can look forward to that :)
I think I would have cropped the final deer photo even further on the left hand side.
That is surely a possibility 😊
What No Pro Photographer Teaches You! Is it 'Magic' ?
and you need to practice, and then practice more.
Indeed!
Herr you go, "The plural of deer is deer. This word is an irregular plural noun The noun deer is both the singular and the plural."
Two deer.
Oh deer, 2 deers
Please stop with the click-bait titles and thumbnails. You're better than that.
