I agree with your take ngl. At first I was all for rapper winning because in general I just liked it better but you are totally right. The beat he did was very basic. Not to be confused with sounds bad because it sounded great. But at the end of the day it doesn't take much skill to make that. However I will say I though his base was better. I prefer that clean base sound. But yeah Idk, I thought your take was good. There needs to be some sort of standard to follow because that could get tricky.
You are absolutely right in what you're saying. But this is still a gray area. It's still unclear whether it's good we incorporate everything related to the human voice, be it beatboxing, rapping, singing into the judging system so that beatbox is literally the ability to generate music in any shape and form, from your mouth, or have beatbox be the non lyrical side of things. This is the same for solo beatbox. Thing is the truth hurts but over time the best beatboxers would ideally be good at all of these elements to master all sorts of music making and those with good singing for example but also crazy beatbox skills are starting to dominate not just being good at one or the other.
The thing is, it is judged the whole atmosphere, vibe and performance of the routine/round. In my eyes, Mirsa rapped way to much here, but he performance brought him the win, which is kinda controversial. Even if, both competitors arranged themselves to do some type of collaboration during the battle and one of the battlers performed in the other's round, it is still counted as one round. Dont know if I explained well. For example, ChrisTheodian vs Rythmind GBB2023 Small final, chris started singing in the rythmind's "Back in Black" cover.(They arranged it backstage), however the singing of Chris was taken as a part of Rythmind's round. It is all about the whole round performance.
I mean i think you didn't watch enough loopstation if you have this kind of take. There is so much new loopstation artists that i really like better than Saro
Saro made me watchh loopstation and until this day no other looper is better to me than him. He is just special and his music as well. I feel sad that people start to underestimate him just because he does not compete anymore.
