Great reaction. This is one of four Su-metal solos, two on each of the first two albums. Yui and Moa would get a break while Su performed those. Yes the instrumentalists are the Kami Band, some of Japan's very best session musicians - they can play anything - and with BABYMETAL they have to be able to do that. They are the support for all live shows - they first appeared in Oct 2012 and were phased in over the next 18 months or so playing at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows. The Budokan shows at the start of March 2014 were where they finally became the full time support for all live shows. The intro here is called 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods'. In order of solos - Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (6 string bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums). This line up of the Kami Band (the Kami Band of the East) last appeared in January 2023. In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) was brought in to support BABYMETAL in their increasingly lengthy foreign tours and they have been ever present since April 2023. There can't be many 16 year old girls who could follow that intro and then just take over the whole stage and arena the way Su did. This is one of their darkest songs lyrically. I understand rondo is a musical term denoting a repeated theme - something like that anyway. I believe they borrowed the term for the title of this song as Su is caught in a recurring nightmare, being chased through the darkness by something she can't see. Eventually she hides, but it is still coming closer. Knowing there is no escape she asks that if she is to die won't it at least reveal itself to her. This was only the second time Su had performed this song live - the first time was the night before. This was early March 2014. They played two nights at the Budokan in Tokyo (this may be the most prestigious venue in Japan - it is the place all Japanese and many foreign artists aspire to play), Red Night and Black Night, becoming the youngest average age female band ever to headline there (Su was 16 and a couple of months, Yui and Moa still only 14). They had just released their first album - they sold out both nights. 🤘🦊🤘 They were back at the Budokan as part of their 10th anniversary celebration and played 10 shows over the first 3 or 4 months of 2021.
Good one, thanks! The instrumental intro song is called "Mischiefs of the Metal Gods". And it's great because every Kami Band member (this is from 2014 and the western set wasn't introduced until 2019) has their turn to shine... just to summon Su-metal who finally emerges from the depths ... well, at least from the bottom of the stage. 😁 "Rondo of Nightmare" is probably their darkest song lyrically. It's about Su being trapped into an endless nightmare, without any chance to escape, where she's chased by a dark entity as she tries to run away and hide. Finally she asks the entity to reveal its real nature before giving up. The song actually had the tentative name: "Kill The Alice" This was just the second time they performed it live (the first one was just the previous night at the same venue) and Su-metal, being 16 at the time, was standing by herself on a relatively small and elevated platform, without any safety and probably not being able so see a thing due to the spotlight. This is so freaking metal! The "rondo" in the name refers to the musical refrain form. The typical feature of any rondo is the return to the main theme after each digression giving the song a dark feeling of moving in circles without any possible way out. One of the best known rondos is Beethoven's "Für Elise". Here is an excerpt from an interview with RollingStone (April 2014 issue): Q: Concerning Su-metal's solo songs we see that 'Akumu no Rondo' has been released as a new single. Su-metal: It seems my two solo songs are 'Akatsuki' and Akumu no Rondo'. 'Akatsuki' has the sense of being the 'redness of passion' (realize that Akatsuki means 'red moon') as is a song where I move around passionately. Compared with that, 'Akumu no Rondo' possesses the feeling of 'blackness'. The temporary title for this song was 'Kill The Alice' based on an image of Alice falling into a cave and being flaying around in the darkness. This is a story where it seems that something is chasing me (this girl) around in the darkness of the cave where I can see nothing at all. Most of the songs I have sung up to meeting this one have been passionate songs but this song has allowed me to try my hand at new ways of singing and I feel I approach this song with a new way of expression each time I sing it. 🤘🦊
⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 That was a sixteen year old Su crushing that performance. She premiered the song the night before, at Budokan Red Night. Rondo is easily in my top five BABYMETAL songs. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) did two songs without Su ('4 no Uta' and 'Onedari Daisakusen'), and they all performed a bunch of songs together. That Black Night Budokan concert from March 2014 is still one of my favorite BABYMETAL concerts. Not only is Su brave enough to sing and dance on a tiny elevated platform in the dark, but she is also fearless enough to follow those amazing Kami Band solos
Dancing in the dark 2 meters above a rotating stage, a 16yr old Suzuka sings of an Unending Nightmare of being chased by a Faceless Terror and Begging a Boon that it show Her its Face just once before She dies. That's Metal. That's Babymetal!! Put your Kitsune UP!!
The lyrics are something that Alice Cooper would be proud to sing. It is about a night terror Demon that is trying to kill her in her in a nightmare? She asks of the Demon that she be able to see it's face before she dies. This is METAL. To get a wry chuckle I remember about 5 years ago there were people in reaction chats that were musicians and they adamantly claimed that the guitarists and the drummer were just average musicians and nothing special. With all due respect to smaller bands and great cover bands, I believe that a huge tour with huge artists has a special kind of pressure to perform reliably. Mixing with other great bands and your own people on a grueling tour with thousands of fans depending on you in my opinion is way tuffer than being able to play great in your own studio with nobody depending on you. Ha ha, I got worked up here, We used to have to defend BabyMetal in the past. Good news no more haters, Babymetal has won everyone over now. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and Happy Holidays for you and your fans.❤❤❤
This is one of my favourite songs! The lyrics are about a person having a recurring nightmare about fleeing through the darkness from an unknown pursuer, until they finally give up. They are unusually dark by BABYMETAL standards. But the cool thing is how this hauntingly beautiful atmosphere encompasses the whole composition and performance. As you said, you can feel that there is something going on. That's very good songwriting!
Hell yeah, fellas! Great reaction to an amazing song! This was early 2014, and one of four Su-metal solos. She's already such an incredible performer and vocalist at the age of 16. This song is actually very dark. The protagonist is being chased by an unseen and endless nightmare. Ultimately, she gives in and is "captured" by the light cage during the marionette part, and asks the Monster to show itself. This was Babymetal's original Kami Band East. ISAO (Isao Fujita) was quite a regular Kami Band member in the last years. He is seen quite prominently in the famous Su-only "Kagerou" live performance 😁
This was a great vid. I was impressed with the bassist you do not see many attempting this. If you look closely on BOH's bass from the17th fret they are scalloped. I do not think I have ever seen a bass with a scalloped fret board seen many guitars with the mod but never a bass.
Thanks for reacting to this song! I love this vid in particular. One of there best. I see kagerou being suggested a lot, I have to agree, Thats definitely the next song 🤘🦊
The first guiatarist is Leda Cygnus with a 6-string ESP. I'm not sure of the model. The second guitarist Takayoshi Omura with his custom 7-string ESP M-SEVEN "Golden Moon" guitar. He was a student of Marty Friedman when he was around 19-20 years old (around early 2000s). He is also in Marty's band. The bass player is Bohte "BOH" Saisuke or just BOH and his 6-string Atelier Z Boh's Custom 6. And the drummer is Hideki Aoyama who comes from a pedigree like his father Jun Aoyama who was the drummer for 1980s power couple, J-Pop king Tatsuro Yamashita and his wife J-Pop queen Mariya Takeuchi. Who are both still active and releasing new albums. Missing and not in this performance is guitarist Mikio Fujioka. Mikio fell in an accident and died weeks later Jan 2018. He was 36. Another guitarist, ISAO (Isao Fujita) sometimes fills in when another guitarist is unavailable. Drummer Yuya Maeta also filled in 2014. Kami east band members also perform in their own Jazz band with other talented session muscians.
You don’t have to know what Su is saying to know what she means. She’s absolutely phenomenal. And in the intervening 10-11 years since this performance she has simply got better. Amazing talent. And a wonderfully lovely person.
Thank you for your wonderful comment. All of the "KAMI band members" from this period are world-class in terms of technique and musical sense. Please pay attention to not only the singers but all the players and check out the videos from this period. It's the best!
Babymetal opened for RHCP some years back on one of their tours. Not only did Flea and the rest of the RHCP guys (except for Anthony) dress up in the corpse paint and robes but they played with this band on Gimme Chocolate and presented Su with a cake on stage on her birthday. So Flea and BOH were on stage together and we all know who is a better base player 😀
Simply and absolutely amazing song and performance! Good react again Kitsunes. Definitely you need watch "Amore" live Su'solo or "iine" live, 3 differents styles in 1 song. See you! 🤟🦊🔥🔥🔥🇯🇵
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。This is the song that I am longing for the revival with Su-Metal's matured rich voice. (Of course I love this version) "Rondo" is a musical form with a recurring leading theme. I can't tell how many times I have viewed this video. It is literally a rondo of happy dream for me. Kamis' (=Gods') super solos were excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once the 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently with her penetrating voice then turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her. ps. I am going to see two concerts this weekend and next month where some Kamis Band members play.
My favourite Kami band - I REALLY hope they reform a Japanese band some day so they can go back to face paint and more interaction. This is a wonderful track - I love their darker stuff and for 16 she did a great job - and not a word of "English" :P. The E.Kami kinda speak for themselves :) For me I've always felt it's about repetitive chase nightmares that girls in particualr seem to suffer from. Great reaction!
Nice reaction! That was the original Kami Band now known as Kami Band East. The Kami Band west came onto the scene back in 2019. I don't remember how to spell some of their names and I'm too lazy to look it up but you will undoubtedly be filled in regarding those details very soon.
I'm tired and not really thinking clearly right no, but I would guess:: Leda Cygnus - guitars (2013-2020) Boh - bass (2013-2023) Takayoshi Ohmura - guitars (2013-2023) Hideki Aoyama - drums (2013-2023)
The performance by the band solo is great. However, as soon as the vocal appears and starts singing, everyone gasps at her beauty and recognizes that she is the protagonist.❤ I think you should conquer Queen's 4 solo songs. 😁 ①Akatsuki ②Rond of nightmare(finished😍) ③No rain no rainbow ④Amore
As many mentioned that the song is about being chased in an unending nightmare by something that she can't see and begs it to show it self before it takes her, as a lot of Babymetal songs it can be interpreted how ever the listener perceives it, what I believe is that what she is running from is actually herself and that the song is about depression.
At the time this show was performed. The Kami band was more of a pool of players instead of an actual band. Koba (producer) had recruited some of the best players you could ever find in Japan at the time. The players on stage for this show include Leda Cygnus (first guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (second guitar), BOH on bass, and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Other members of the pool include Mikio Fujioka (Rip), ISAO, Yuya Maeta. When the guys wern't playing BM shows/tours they all had their own projects/bands. And in Mikio's case he was a teacher at Musicians Institute Of Tokyo. It wasn't till 2019 that Koba decided they needed a full time band for extended touring outside of Japan. So they recruited the guys from a Star Wars themed tribute band (Galactic Empire) and then added the drummer Anthony Barone. And since that time the "Western Kami band" has been the main backup players for live performances. Now ever so often the "Eastern" Kami band would make appearances at Japan shows. With the last sighting being in 2023.
Great track. Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda on guitar BOH on bass Hideki Aoyama on drums. I kind of lost interest in BabyMetal when they stopped working with these guys, but Su did an amazing job on this.
This was the old Kami Band. They played a last time in January of 2023, since April 2023 they are no longer the same Babymetal. Momo is now a full Banymetal and they only use the Kami Band West, that were originally used for their European and US concerts. Now they support them everywhere.
If you EVER will watch a clip of Sakura Gakuin (the idol school Babymetal was a part of and started in 2010) and see how Suzuka really was, it's even more astonishing how she gets on stage and slaps your face. People often say she has two faces. She was so dorky, awkward and funny back then, but when she performs, she pushes a little hidden switch and BANG: Death-glare! Merry xmas from Germany, enjoy!
the live at budokan red night and black night dvd is still available, and i highly recommend it. the band and the girls soared to new heights in those shows. another song that features an instrumental opening from the band is "catch me if you can", also on the budokan dvd.
Nice reaction. Kamiband is fantastic. Babymetal opened for Red Hot Chilipeppers and there is fan cam of Boh Kamiband bass player here and Flee on stage together going nuts. Really fun stuff. Which is why I like to say the Foxhole is deep and full of surprises. This song is literally about a rather scary nightmare. Which is totally different for Babymetal and at the time was a big departure from their norm. And still is. There is only one way to follow a Kamiband opening like that. And that is with Su giving us an amazing performance. Su showed us her metal with this performance.
You may notice it was only Suzuka Nakamoto on stage. The other two girls aren't here. Babymetal would do this to give the girls a rest break. They have 4 songs with only Suzuka Nakamoto and 4 songs with Moa and Yui. When Yui left in 2018 this has kind of changed but not entirely.
to think she was only 16 years old here. that was the east Kami band. the next video you have to react to this th-cam.com/video/aIb2xEthdSg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mWZjmOXn-8SdhrtB . you have reached the time you need to understand the history of Babymetal now. this video tells you a lot for the history of them.
The old Kami Band and their believes. They expected that it would ompossible that the tiny voice of Su, could competevwith them, if they wete loud. But physics doesn't care what japanese Jazz musicians think. Our brain can add and Extrakt different frequencies independentöy of higher frequencies.
Thx bro! This song is brutal. It's a very heavy and dark metal ballad, the performance is next level! That recording was made in the Budokan, a very precise performance. There's a version where these musicians improvise more and Suzuka plays with his voice better, that's where this song kills! The Babymetal is amazing!
None of these are from the west....but there was one from the US that played on their original recording as a session player. If you look up members of Kami Band there I'd a list of all of them uncluding one of the guitarists from Unlucky Morpheus, see Knight of Sword... he's the one with the headless guitat.
Hey guys, I had to answer this while mid vid XD< Ok the band in this vid is the Kami Band. While on tour the girls often perform with The West Kami band, while on this side of the pond. (US side) If you would like a vid that does like this one, showcasing the band with the west kami band, look up Kagerou with Kami band intro. th-cam.com/video/Hg3QsPI3x1M/w-d-xo.html Happy Holidays
Yo, I heard y’all mention Flea in this video. Well guess what? In 2016, Babymetal supported RHCP on their UK tour. Here are a few fun ones for ya. RHCP on stage with Babymetal - Fan cam, not great quality, but fun times: th-cam.com/video/M-CsgoaDyKY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lLBC2k1k6ByOihOb Chad Smith cameos on drums for Babymetal, as they cover Breaking the Law and Painkiller by Judas Priest + wholesome ending: th-cam.com/video/ZJu4uRoN9ps/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rW1qBzcCBKv2Ao05 No need to react to these, unless you want to. Guys check out Aldious Dominator live Radiant A at O East.... this won't b highly recommended ad they are big in Japan but have a solid but small fan base in the USA. But you should check them out they are amazing.

Who the hell interrupts a guitar solo? And you did it multiple times! This video is 10 years old. This is the old Kami band in this video. The current band is made up of 4 Americans. Guitars: Chris Kelly and C.J Masciantonio Bass: Clint Tustin. Drums: Anthony Barrone. They're much better than the Japanese Kami band.

Later that year, her vocals were featured in the spoken section of Babymetal's digital single "Metali!!".
The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances.
The OG KamiBand (White Robe & Corspe Face Paint):-
"The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL".

It contains two concerts performed at Nippon Budokan shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album, and was released on January 7, 2015 in a standard edition and a limited-edition box set exclusively for "The One" fanclub members.
Nippon Budokan:-
Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues.
A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple.

Lyrics Overview:-
"Rondo Of Nightmare (悪夢の輪舞曲; Akumu No Rondo)"

[English:]
The waning moon has lit up
the insanity rampant in the shade
The laughter resounds around
It bares its fangs and its eyes gleam
I can’t escape from it
It flickers slowly
appearing and disappearing in my mind
A nightmare rondo is being repeated
The awakening light
is gone far away out of my sight
I can do nothing but run
through the darkness
In the woods, in the fountain
I hide myself holding my breath
but it’s still coming closer to me
A stagnant voice. An endless night
Ah…
If I can no longer get out of here
won’t you show me your figure?
It flickers slowly
appearing and disappearing in my mind
A nightmare rondo is being repeated
The awakening light
is gone far away out of my sight
I can do nothing but fall
into the darkness
This song Su-Metal brings you to the dark side and tells you a story thru the journey and it enticed you.

Simply and absolutely amazing song and performance! Good react again Kitsunes. Definitely you need watch "Amore" live Su'solo or "iine" live, 3 differents styles in 1 song. See you! 🤟🦊🔥🔥🔥🇯🇵
This one Japan Kami Band. If u want to see USA Kami - check out Kagerou (Legend MM 2024 Live). Cool intro from american guitarists

Our Queen surrounded by Kamis !
I'm tired and not really thinking clearly right no, but I would guess::
Leda Cygnus - guitars (2013-2020)
Boh - bass (2013-2023)
Takayoshi Ohmura - guitars (2013-2023)
Hideki Aoyama - drums (2013-2023)
@@autohmae Leda was still there to 2023 as well.
@@Grington300 then Wikipedia is wrong with the years
@@autohmae Oh sorry, you're right. I thought it was a typo, I always assumed he was still playing, but his last appearance was Legend Metal Galaxy.
The performance by the band solo is great. However, as soon as the vocal appears and starts singing, everyone gasps at her beauty and recognizes that she is the protagonist.❤
I think you should conquer Queen's 4 solo songs. 😁
①Akatsuki
②Rond of nightmare(finished😍)
③No rain no rainbow
④Amore
oh, this song is deep
Rip to the guitarist in this video mikio you will be missed man 😢😭🙏
As many mentioned that the song is about being chased in an unending nightmare by something that she can't see and begs it to show it self before it takes her, as a lot of Babymetal songs it can be interpreted how ever the listener perceives it, what I believe is that what she is running from is actually herself and that the song is about depression.
The kami band's called the kami band for a reason
Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda on guitar
BOH on bass
Hideki Aoyama on drums.
I kind of lost interest in BabyMetal when they stopped working with these guys, but Su did an amazing job on this.
Masterpiece 💜🫶🏻
How do you follow that incredible intro 😮 You send up 16 year old Su to show you why the band is built around her ❤😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Lol, accurate 🤣. I really never thought of it that way, but that makes this so much better!!
@Ganimal83 true 😁🤘🏼🦊
Couldn't be more true. Dorky and silly, but such a professional she'll melt your face off
@@JLVTar definitely
There's a reason why they are called the Kami Band (Band of Gods).
Nice Video! Merry christmas! I LOVE BABAYMETAL 🔥🔥🔥🔥
the live at budokan red night and black night dvd is still available, and i highly recommend it. the band and the girls soared to new heights in those shows. another song that features an instrumental opening from the band is "catch me if you can", also on the budokan dvd.
Regarding the bass: BOH plays a custom Atelier Z6
great reaction video.
Akumu No Rondo 🦊🤘🔥
You may notice it was only Suzuka Nakamoto on stage. The other two girls aren't here. Babymetal would do this to give the girls a rest break. They have 4 songs with only Suzuka Nakamoto and 4 songs with Moa and Yui. When Yui left in 2018 this has kind of changed but not entirely.
Well known quote from Boh, “ my guitar is as big as a fridge” ❤
to think she was only 16 years old here. that was the east Kami band. the next video you have to react to this th-cam.com/video/aIb2xEthdSg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mWZjmOXn-8SdhrtB . you have reached the time you need to understand the history of Babymetal now. this video tells you a lot for the history of them.
If you guys love technical playing you should checkout Tales of the Destinies by Babymetal. Their hardest song to play that only played live once.
16, omg
2021 Budokan Akatsuki for another SuSolo! =)
BoH ❤
The old Kami Band and their believes. They expected that it would ompossible that the tiny voice of Su, could competevwith them, if they wete loud. But physics doesn't care what japanese Jazz musicians think. Our brain can add and Extrakt different frequencies independentöy of higher frequencies.
Esta si que es la verdadera KAMI BAND... Kitsune da o!
🤘🦊🤘

“Don’t think, just feel”

Hey guys, I had to answer this while mid vid XD< Ok the band in this vid is the Kami Band. While on tour the girls often perform with The West Kami band, while on this side of the pond. (US side) If you would like a vid that does like this one, showcasing the band with the west kami band, look up Kagerou with Kami band intro. th-cam.com/video/Hg3QsPI3x1M/w-d-xo.html
