I no longer have any interest in going to a place that is run by the liberal government. It’s just an example of how they want to preserve a piece of land and allow corporate interest and outside money. Too get away these days go out on the water or blaze your own path. Make your own meals grow vegetables if you can or form a local garden with neighbors. It’s time we all pull together and let the government remember it’s here to do what we say.

Got turned away at the entrance after coming through Cody. It was a huge bummer. The drive in and out however was beautiful as was our “plan B” drive into Jackson Hole. Staying at the historic Alpenhof. The views coming into town is too much for words. I could never get tire of seeing this landscape!

I came out of Yellowstone towards Jackson Hole eight years ago. When we were going by the Grand Tetons, we saw a guy fly fishing in the river. He had two 145lb Rottweilers with him. They were his protection from bears, mountain lions, wolves or moose. It is the real deal out there! Absolutely gorgeous, too! The center of town with the antler arches is great, and reminded me of the Clint Eastwood movie, where he was a bare knuckle brawler, was filmed. I wish I had spent some time in that town, but we had a schedule to keep, and couldn't stay.

I've thought of going to the States for holiday, but have never had the time or money. My list of destinations though, should I ever be able, includes Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, The Grand Tetons, The park which has Half Dome and El Capitan, and to see the Redwoods. I don't know what else there is to see, but I'm sure I'll find something before I go. I'd also like to see a moose. There are also a lot of birds I'd like to see such as the American Robin (much bigger and more brightly coloured than ours), an Oriole, a blue jay, a Steller's Jay, an American cardinal, A flock of whooping cranes, a great blue heron, a bald eagle, a golden eagle, a condor, and some humming birds. Also painted bunting and indigo bunting are supposed to be pretty, as are the tanagers. So many birds and so much wildlife to see. Yes. I want to get there someday. If they'll have me.

We were surprised there were no animals visible. We were wondering where they could have gone. We went to the other geyser and it was very cloudy. Didn't get to see much there. Sorry this happened to the park. It is one of Gods artworks! I'm sure this isn't a first time event. However, it's probably a first in our generation. Blessings.

The best times for viewing wildlife are early morning and late afternoon/evening. Perhaps you were driving around more in the middle of the day? Also, not all the areas of the park are equally populated with animals. Hayden Valley is a good spot. They usually prefer good grazing areas or forested areas, depending on the species--definitely not where there are too many people or a concentration of geysers and other geological features. They need water, so in non-flood times may be around rivers and ponds/small lakes. I hope you get to go again; if you do, suggest you go online ahead of your trip to research the best areas for animals.
