    Genuinely one of the most underrated bands in British rock history and both Charlie Simpson and Alex Westaway are unsung geniuses.

    The most frustrating thing about trying to be in a band, is needing to find other people that want the same thing at the same time.

    I genuinely feel like Fightstar was almost a way for Charlie to have a complete blow out. A heavier, darker way of letting out alot of emotions, thoughts which (may?) have built up. I absolutely loved them and it's a massive shame they don't really get the recognition these days...

      +J2OE Same but Charlie only managed it cos of his lucky streak in Busted. It's not really an option nowadays unless you know someone who will force your music into mainstream media (e.g. Royal Blood. Good band but nothing special and only famous because they know Arctic Monkeys personally and someone high up in the BBC who pushed them out there a lot). Not saying don't do it though, you never know. Just better to do it for the love of it and work it around something else.

    • @Glennisalezbian
      @Glennisalezbian 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Mike Oxlong Sure, Charlie had Busted and did remarkably well for himself (allegedly), but disregarding that, he raised an excellent point that every single other person in Fightstar can't sustain themselves financially with just the band alone, and they all have separate jobs (Charlie's being Busted, i'm assuming). So, anyone wanting to have a crack at music should definitely, DEFINITELY do it, but will realise that they need to sustain themselves in alternative ways too.

    Literally spells out why he re-joined busted, i.e for money. Don't blame him though and he has fightstar for creative output.

    • @adamknight7041
      @adamknight7041 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      To be fair though as commercially viable as it might be in terms of the Pop-Rock / Pop-Punk field Busted's latest album is actually rather respectable, certainly sound alot more authentic then they did in their younger days.

    • @parkerproductions4546
      @parkerproductions4546 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah if he wanted money he would have joined McBusted. Fightstar are awesome but Charlie rejoined Busted to finally right the creative wrongs he experienced when they first started out. Half Way There is the sound he always wanted Busted to be back in the day.

    • @dassteam
      @dassteam 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamknight7041 I fucking love that last album, think half way there is a bit outdated and doesn't bring anything new to the table in terms of pop rock.

    • @NASSAfellow
      @NASSAfellow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Had he joined McBusted he would have earned millions and they'd have done 2 albums before going back to the two band format but Charlie had to genuinely enjoy what he was going to do and that would have decimated the respect he has built. He's not a sell out, he just makes the music he wants to play at the right time. Also he did have a son coming along the way. He can't be an absentee father. If he loves the music and has the opportunity, why should he say no? He still works on his solo projects and can provide a comfortable life for his family. He has finally come full circle and said when he was younger he used to get so worried about other people's perception of the music he plays. Now he doesn't care.
      Also I know someone who worked with Busted on their production team of the label in the early 2000s. He confirmed that all three wanted a heavier sound.
      I think Charlie's issue was with the record labels more than his band mates

    • @adamknight7904
      @adamknight7904 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dassteam I disagree I thought Half Way There was like a breath of fresh air because of the fact that it sounded like a late 90's / early 00's record which is now considered old-school. It was like an anti Pop record against the type of popular music in the contemporary market.

  • @NASSAfellow

      Sink with the Snakes
      Dive
      Overdrive
      All from their last album before the reforming of Busted.
