But hearing things like “the most expensive part of advertising is the creative side, now that’s free”, is quite soul crushing for a naturally arty, creative person like me, who doesn’t love aggressive, capitalistic ambition. Ambitious, money driven people have been giving creatives a rough deal for eons, and now it’s gotten even worse. And what’s sad, is that many of the more business focussed people, simply have poor artistic judgment, and so everything is going get more ugly and arbitrary and middle of the road. An AI trained on almost everything, is “mid” by definition, at least creatively and artistically speaking.
