It's been nice to have guests join you in your videos, lonely van life videos only entertain so much so its nice to see friends and furry buddies involved
Thank you for taking us on a roadtrip. Wish Allenn luck with his projects, it's a great concept to convey a feeling of what it was like being there where the picture was taken
Hey Ryan could you maybe start the videos with a pin or something showing you where you are or where you’re going? Because sometimes you mention it but others times I don’t pick up on it. Plus it helps me build a list of places I want to visit one day.
Hot Creek is off the 395 near the Mammoth Lakes turn off. I believe Fossil Falls was the ending spot of the video. It is further south right off the 395 .
are all of the Tokyo videos done, that was the most entertained I've ever been. you and Donovan have such a great connection it really brings out the Ryan Twomey I love to see I feel like you guys should do way more videos together if you can.
So glad for the video today. Currently snowed in, in Southern Indiana. When I saw the leftover potatoes in the pan in the sink, I wanted to cry! Save them for your breakfast with eggs, so so good.
I am not vegetarian but you can make a tofu scramble with peanut sauce and a side of black beans with chiloulah that is killer. Super ez. The Tofu gets super crispy on the outside with the sauce. Very good! Be sure to make the peanut sauce yourself. PB, soy sauce, garlic and fresh ginger, a little lime juice. No need to cover the steak as it steams it rather than searing. Probably why it overcooked. You can do a test by pressing into it with your finger as it’s cooking. After awhile you will get a sense of how done it is. Looks delicious though.
Thats A Big Boy Dinner. I am sure the Food Network will be looking you up for a new show. WHEN THEY START HAVE COOKING SHOWS AGAIN. Great Channel. Been with you a long time. Greetings from San Diego.🌴
Great video! I’m camping out in New Brighton in Capitola Ca as I watch your video. I’m 59 and I’ll say your videos motivated to get out and rediscover camping. Thank you!!
You cannot cook for a vegetarian in the same pan you cook meat. So, the potatoes with bacon will have contamination of bacon throughout the entire pan.
Hot Creek is an otherworldly spot for sure. You can hike down to the bottom usually but there are alot of warning signs that you will boil if you fall in. Cool spot. Ryan that looked like Fossil Falls with that giant what we call “Earth Pimple “ in the background. Steak & Taters is the perfect meal. Great video. The Eastern Sierras never disappoint.
Been watching your content for over a year now my man absolutely love it!!!! Help yourself and get some better pots/pans though lol you're cooking will just be that much better!
literally the first snow camper this year to make the smart move anywhere on the ring of fire has a lot of geothermal activity i guess it's like a reverse oasis in the desert lol you're looking for hot spots instead of cool ones
Fun fact: That one bright star you see at sunset is frequently Venus! You can use a sky tracker app to confirm! Cooking that steak medium isn't too much of a crime with a steak that marbled. Dinner looks good!
FYI- Tennis balls are bad for dogs teeth. The felt coating is like sand paper and can wear down the teeth. Get some Chuckit Balls or Racket Balls some squeaky spiky balls. You can punch out the squeaky thing if it gets annoying, but my dog loves to make the ball squeak.
The places that you've gone to so far in your travels, do you think a 26 foot box truck would be able to handle the road conditions? I'm planning out my build but having a hard time pulling the plug on what platform I want to build on. Any feedback?
Just a friendly cooking tip, should never cover the steak with a lid while it cooks you create steam and moisture which takes away the desired crust and will almost always over cook your steak. Depending on thickness, 2.5-3.5 minutes on each butter baste as ya did for a few minutes and then let sit uncovered for nearly as long as you cooked the steak for. Thanks for posting a great video!
If you're trying to cook a steak based on time, you want about 2.5 minutes per side, especially with all the searing you did on the sides. Might even drop that down to 2. That's actually my baseline timing, with checking to be sure of actual temp.
FYI unless you made them yourself or if it specifically states otherwise, bacon bits are vegan! That's why most brands call them bac'n bits or something similar.
u can use yer starlink while driving, ive secired my gen2 with straps to the roof of my suv an got 180mbps goin 100kmph in zero cell service area between lake louise an red deer alberta
Heyyyy don't forget to season the steaaaaak!! 🤣😂🤣💀 That was so funny!!!! Absolutely stunning scenery, thank you for taking us along! Safe and wonderful travels and all the best from Oregon 🌲✌🏼
My man takes dump in the wilderness but washes hands. Immediately next scene is him cutting up potatoes and handling them. Even though he washed…still. 😂
FYI: Steak needs to sit at room temp for almost an hour before internal temp is the same. The 10 to 20 min rest is wrong! And as been proven so multiple times by testers.
“Proven wrong” by people that don’t understand the point of the rest. Why would you want the core of the steak to hit room temp? that’s not the part you’re gonna cook. You want the outside room temp so the cut doesn’t shrink from thermal shock, upsetting the contact point between pan & steak.
@@alexphelps7042 LMAO! I guess top chefs like Guga don't know what they are talking about. As a matter of fact a steak will not be exactly at room temp after sitting that long. However, Stay Clueless!
not hating- I promise. as a Japanese speaker and hearing Wagyu (和牛 which means Japanese Cow) it gives me a good chuckle. I hear “American Japanese Cow Steak” lol
I fell to my knees when I saw a full piece of steak on the plate you threw into the sink
I'm sure the dog would have loved another piece
yeaaa man the dog would have enjoyed that extra piece
@@seleo0 or steak and eggs with those potatoes for breakfast!

I feel like its better to go out and discover places like this on your own and making it an adventure out of it especially vanlife.
Looks like Hot Creek.
He did say it in the beginning

@@alanrocks1234 No one drives around aimlessly, your not going to stumble onto a hot creek on an adventure
That moment when you get off the ice and onto a dry road? Ahhhhhh...
Thanks for the content! These videos are so relaxing.
Layed up in the hospital so glad to see a new vid pop up... Also that steak looks so amazing compared to the hospital food I'm getting lol. Much love
Hope you are well! ❤

Hope you are feeling well and get out of there soon. tell them to make you a steak hahaha
I needed a Ryan Twomey video so bad today! Thank you Ryan!!!

my parents got a bunch of snow this weekend back in maryland... first time in years
Does your friend's dog live in van full-time? I'm wondering what size dog can work.
Yup! She’s definitely on the smaller size for a golden retriever but just perfect for the van
The season the steak cut scene was definitely needed 🤣🤣 Love the videos brotha

Hot Creek looks like a painting 😍
Love the video! I know you mentioned it in a video a while ago, but would love to see you build out a beefy 4 wheel drive van.
woww how you going to leave that last piece of steak left in the sink
What an epic breakfast shot at around 0:56
You cannot cook for a vegetarian in the same pan you cook meat. So, the potatoes with bacon will have contamination of bacon throughout the entire pan.
When someone else is doing the work, and you are really hungry.....your vegetarian expectations are compromised if you want to eat.....J/S

Cowboy voice was the best! I'm with you on the Kinder's. They make a chicken version too. Buttery Poultry Seasoning.
I love your cooking content, but I gotta say you lose me when you put ketchup on stuff like that 😂 thanks enjoyed the video 😊
There was one piece of steak still on the plate 😮
There was more potatoes too. I was like what!
If you like the Buttery Steakhouse seasoning, you may also like the Prime Steak seasoning also from Kinder's, it's what I use, and it's really good!
Such an awesome channel can’t wait to get started vanlife as well!
Seriously, have you ever had a BAD Kinder's product? It's all so good! Safe travels, friend!
i honestly dont think so
We need longer vids idc if ur just chilling in your van ill watch! ❤
I began using the buttery steakhouse seasoning as you do, and it does not disappoint!
I just solo car camped at Fossil Falls on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. There are two bathrooms (vault toilets) there lol.

How is your heart doing Ryan? Is a headache normal for you? Keep track of your symptoms.
Ryan, hi glad to see you doing well, love watching your videos, be safe❤
If you put a lid over it it can cook the sides too 💯
I’m at work watching this thank you Ryan
Ryan, Have you ever considered getting Tire chains for ice/snow? It would help with the lack of traction I think.

Man just the idea of cooking without fire alarms going off looks like bliss 😅
Obviously entirely down to you and Alan but generally you wouldn't cook meat in the same pan as vegetarian food. Just saying.
