    So one thing about Donghua that is very different to anime in my experience is that Donghua doesn't like to explain stuff if they didn't feel the need to explain. So you won't have like anime moment where character just stand still and explain how their power work. So a lot of time you kinda need to basically just process it yourself. Which i like but i know it can be confusing for some people.

      I think that can be both good and bad depending on how complex they try to make things. If its something that the viewer can pick up on without having to be explained it can be good. However, if they use that as a way to introduce a new power at some random point it comes off cheap to me since there was no indicator of it and they could just try to pull the "we never told you what powers each character is capable of so we can just throw new ones in at random"

      @@grizz1 From my experience if it's something complex or something that need to be explain they will explain it. What can be problematic is when it's a cultural think. For example if a Christian writer wrote a Christian story they probably won't explain to the reader what Christmas is right? Cause the writer will assume the reader already know what Christmas is. The same apply in Donghua since the Chinese writer wrote Chinese story for mostly Chinese audience. They're not going to explain any of it. Which is why it took me sometimes to actually enjoy Cultivation/Reincarnation story. Cause they won't explain the intricacies behind it. Good think is there's no cultivation mechanic in Link Click. For season 1 at least.

    It’s always great to see someone watch Link Click! Really great show and will be well worth your time!
    I would say that you’ll get used to hearing Mandarin (please do stick with it as I still find it the best way to watch this donghua) and will start to hear the emotional inflections that the VAs do as you get used to it. It can sometimes happen with me too when I hear another language for the first time.

      Yeah definitely think I just need to get used to it. Very excited to watch more though!

      People always say watch Anime in Japanese but when in comes to Donghua they watch it in Japanese or English dubbed .

    • @grizz1
      @grizz1  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Yeah I prefer to watch in whatever the original format is. Feels the most authentic for me. I wasn’t even sure if it was the correct language because crunchyroll doesn’t even use the english word mandarin as an option lol

    u have heard way too much weeb cartoonish voice acting this is how normal ppl talk its realistic n v well done accuratte intricate subtle sophisticated voice acting

    • @grizz1
      @grizz1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Idk how important it is for a animated show with superpowers and time travel to have realistic voice acting. I’m not saying it needs to be “cartoonish” but there’s a certain level that can be achieved more in the middle. Also as I said in the video, this is probably just me not being used to hearing the language. As i get more familiar with it I’d assume my thoughts will change.

      @@grizz1 yea i hope so too but the point i was trying to make isnt that it needs to sound realistic regardless of a genre but that so much anime has overly high pitched(esp for girls) or just very extreme voice acting n i think its no wonder a lot of ppl r not used to this type. in chinese dubs of even games compared to jp this is also true cn tends to b more laid back

    • @grizz1
      @grizz1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gotcha, definitely a contrast in comparison to English voice acting as well which feels way too cartoonish to me. Interesting to see a different style
