I had one on rental in Napoli Italy, and it was fitted with the diesel and 6 speed. It had plenty of zip, the handling was decent for the type of car, and the shifter was the best I have driven in my 46 years at the wheel. All in all, darn well-done!
I've had one of these, a 1.6 litre automatic for over a year now. Apart from the shortage of acceleration and poor economy (both of which are products of the 3-speed auto 'box) it is a very good, comfy, spacious, inexpensive car. It does what it says on the tin! Sure, there are flashier, faster, more economical on fuel cars, but not at anything like this price! So, the Hyundai IX20 is a good buy. I'm glad I did.
Here all is in the price. Basic models come with airco, electrical windows etc. A good competitor. Top models have all on them. Without any options to add. So Camera on the back, Navigation, panoramic roof, keyless start and so on.
just traded in a vw golf mk4 1.9 for a 1.6 crdi version of this car and tbh it sounds great and quiet when your pulling away and has a surprising amount of acceleration on the motorway, if not a little delayed in delivery once you get used to it it puts a smile on your face.
Am considering buying this car but would like to know how it drives on a autobahn (highway). I need to feel secure when some huge car passes me doing 250 Kmh. I’d drive mostly for longer trips. Thanks for any feedback.
I think it` s fullish to speak about handling. I mean this is car for families (comport is the main demand) not for cornering it` s an MPV for crying out loud not sport coupe. I wonder where sanity has gone?
Very well designed interior, but it did not like how it drove. Steering is imprecise, the diesel engine is rough and underpowered, and the suspension is stiff and rattly. I prefer the i30 for driving.
Really love Hyundai, have had 3 hyundais (Atos aka shoe box or 4 stand places^^ and Getz and this the upgrade of Getz.. Just great quality never ever had any problems with none of the cars, nothing. the comfort is the only thing bad i can say about the atos and gets but this one is really great.
I don't realy agree with rear seats that move forward and back, because you put them back when you add people, but with more people, come more luggage, except the boot has now shrunk...
Strange review as you slagged off the Kia Venga yet praised the iX20 which is virtually the same car except for slightly different trim and marginally different suspension set up. How can one car be so comprehensively dismissed yet the other approved of? There is only one answer and it has to be a prejudice against Kia and for Hyundai, or perhaps you forgot that reviewed the other one.
I have two words for you: Nissan Note. -Mat Watson, 2010 Yooka: The Nissan "definatly dosnt" go round corners really well. Horrid to drive. Also Yooka: Peugeot ix20? Wait, something’s not right here...

At 1:25 they show SEAT Leon's heater controls, guess it's an editing fail :)
1:25

Strange this never had cruise control in the UK. A basic bit of convenience nowadays.

It's a stylish little thing.
1:04 almost all cars on the road have the rear seats higher than the front seats.
