There's a few ways to do it, but the easiest is called the mapdash. Stand in front of the door, dash and open the map at the same time. If you do it right you'll hear the dash and see the puff of dust at your feet as the map opens. Then spam the up button and close the map so you enter the door right as the map closes. This puts you in the boss room and the dash movement breaks the cutscene freeze, allowing you to attack Alex. You can only hit the other bosses with one spell and attack each, except Herodotus. You can split him early but if you do it wrong bad things happen. You gotta wait until he's full size before the first split, and if you don't kill the entire stationary blob it gets a huge move speed boost.
getting blood chestplate was a big waste considering everything left (darkness and johannes) you are a 3 shot at best so +2 hp per kill wouldnt do you any better

How do you do the jump trick at the beginning when Alexander the Forgotten is loading? I have tried and I cannot get the character to jump at all
