So funny to watch Mike watching Andy's stealth play and giving warnings like, "There's a CAMERA" after years of playing Hitman while giving no forks about alerting security. Yay teamwork!
It was fun watching Andy and Mike being scoundrels in the open world sections but having seen the mission in the Imperial Facility I suspect I'd get frustrated with the stealth failures and ditch the game. Thanks for the stream Andy and Mike
This game actually isn't too bad with it's forced stealth sections. Usually if you get spotted you can shoot your way out so long as you prevent anyone from sounding the alarm.
Which was what all the 'great' AC games had. Black Flag having some of the worst of the worst of those, which made me actually stop playing that game. So, it's just interesting to me that nowadays suddenly people have a problem with this, yet still talk about AC Black Flag like it's the best game ever. Same with OG Splinter Cell, talked about like it was the best stealth game ever made, but literally had some of the worst instant fail stealth sections possible, with checkpoints that took you back like 30 minutes or more.
From they showed here, it wasn't really instant fail, if Andy managed to kill whoever tried to sound the alarm before they did, he could shoot his way through rather than stealth, but I think like the recent Hitman games, if you go that route you'll probably get killed
Agreed. Forced stealth with an instant fail just stresses me out and that usually makes me fail even more. I like the option to be super stealthy in Hitman, but I'm also content to just shrug and start taking out the security when I screw up and everyone in the area starts coming for me. I had to restart the Dartmoor mission once because I'd manage to alert the guards and then I failed at hiding to the point that the doorway of the bathroom by the library and the hallway outside it were all filled with security guard bodies before they managed to bring 47 down. I was laughing at just how badly wrong it had gone.
Having played this quite recently, the critical element that they never realised is that the alarm is only raised once someone runs over to a console (there's even a flashing icon over their head) so technically the instant stealth fail isn't delayed you have an opportunity to stop the alert all together.
Haven't played the game but I'm 99% sure I saw button prompts for grabbing the ledge show up for like, single frames, toward the end. Which doesn't make it better what they've done, but, maybe Andy will feel better that his flaw was not being precognizant rather than not timing his jumps
There are a lot of Star Wars games, and this sure is one. I look forward to it being given away on the Epic Games store in a couple of years, and finding it to be alright.
@@travisspaulding5835 in fairness that is still really early came, once your ship is fixed it opens up a lot. But for the most part the story choices are options as you complete missions it’s not an RPG but you get choices on who to target or work with and usually an offer to switch sides whilst working or as completing
6:36 In my playthrough, I was stunned with the opening tutorial level with how much the universe felt like Star Wars (even if it was all Ubisofted up). The city feels, the character models look right, the computers look right, even the vents feel like Star Wars. But seeing stormtroopers for the first time gave me goosebumps. Just those iconic uniforms bumped the experience way up.
I'm increasingly convinced people who say "this looks like a PS2 game", "this looks like it's from 10 years ago" etc. were either too young to play games, or have verrryyy charitable memories. Graphics aside, which are *stunning*, things like how there aren't load screens, how everything's fully voiced, how everything has a little bespoke animation or sound design... there are SO MANY WAYS games these days are massive technological leaps. Fun's another thing of course -- technology can't make it fun.
For Han Solo comparisons, Han was predominantly a smuggler rather than a thief. His sneaking around involved smugglers holds in the falcon such as in the panneling and ship sneaking through patrol zones. A crew needs all sorts
The game really excels when it's not being a ubisoft open world game. Bits like the restaurant minigame really make the world feel fun, but then it's back to clearing question marks off the hud. At least there's no radio towers to unlock the map.
@@weneedaladder8384 Oh I love the Ubisoft open world game style I love searching everywhere for weapons and armour and when they let me customise myself hell yeah its great
I was actually quite baffled to find out that people were having trouble with this whole mission. I really enjoyed it. And it's definitely so weird that Andy just couldn't make that jump. Maybe it needed a save/reload fix?
In PS Access' video of this game, they mentioned how Andy is the stealth master like Rob and Mike is the guns-blazing player like Elle/Rosie and then I come to this video and it makes me chortle. I wonder if we can have a crossover stealth off?
I see the explosive red barrels have pet accessible self destruct buttons now. That's, uh, convenient. I'll give the game credit for taking a typical object for the suspension of disbelief and finding a way to ask "But could you suspend it further?". No small feat that.
Thanks, Andy and Mike! Enjoyed the stream, even if there were some clunky game elements that put me off purchasing it myself. You did very well, Andy. The commentary was excellent as always! Until the next video!
I'm on good terms with Crimson Dawn because I gave the information to them instead of the Hutts, just like Andy, but they still wouldn't let me into the Crimson Dawn District. Where they let Andy in, they turned me away. I had to sneak in.
Thank you guys for releasing some positive content. I know this isn't the greatest game ever but I really needed some positivity after watching Star Wars Theory shit on the game and then proceeded to not understand how games work. Literally called the game false advertising because he couldn't do the open World stuff right from the get-go or while he was doing a quest when was basically just shiting on it before even anything happened
A lot of people hate on this game. Whilst it is not genre defining and has it flaws; it has captured the Star Wars aesthetic well, the combat is fun and a lot of the stealth sections are well done. I'd give it a solid 7.5 if you take it for what it is
Loving the vibes from this gameplay of Star Wars Outlaws, thank you Andy and Mike for streaming this game, going to help my decide whether to buy it or not. Your play styles really work in this game, mostly with hilarious, funny and chaotic outcomes. Maybe more of this to come in the future perhaps ?
Wow, who would have thought that when you combine Disney and Ubisoft, the output would be bland, designed by committee pap. It doesn’t matter if every part of the game is competent if it’s not actually fun.
My Ubisoft account was stolen when this game came out. I don't think I'm overly upset at my inability to buy this game. If any of you wonderful people out there need to contact Ubisoft support at any point, I wish you well...
I'm not sure what the appeal is, it just all looks really boring. But with Star Wars. Can you get a lightsaber or use force at all? No coop or multiplayer it all seems like a real dud.
Also... What the hell? You guys have not that long ago joined into the whole complaining about games 'holding your hand' too much and everything, and then this game doesn't give you a line on the floor of where to go, and suddenly it's bad level design? Again, which is it? Bad level design, or should games not hold your hand that much? You can't have both. Well... I guess you can, if you really insist on following all hate fest channels, I suppose.
Stream starts at 1:18! Shenanigans kick off soon. 🖖
You systematically do this.
It is very appreciated.
Thank you :D

Thank you :)
Thanks AB!
Thanks my dude

I love being sneaky in games, but only when it's like, a viable play style. NOT when it's instant fail.

The "ELIMINATED" screen calling you an "imminent threat to public safety or imperial security" is a bit generous given the circumstances
Having played this quite recently, the critical element that they never realised is that the alarm is only raised once someone runs over to a console (there's even a flashing icon over their head) so technically the instant stealth fail isn't delayed you have an opportunity to stop the alert all together.
I also think the issue at the end was that once combat starts you might not be able to sprint jump?

The real jerks were the star wars games we played along the way
There are a lot of Star Wars games, and this sure is one. I look forward to it being given away on the Epic Games store in a couple of years, and finding it to be alright.
Mike on the asteroid in Empire Strikes Back they had breathing masks on
I've heard that this game isn't particularly worth it unless you're a superfan, and after watching this I pretty much agree.
Very excited for wyrdwood! The countdown is on 👀
Disappointingly low amount of opportunities to be a space jerk. Most of the story stuff feels very much on rails

Christmas challenge - see how long you can get away without causing a station lockdown. It would be a very short challenge

Space business handled. :)
Started the game last night seems fun. nothing outstanding but a nice little story it seems. Nix is the cutest tho
Mike is so right about the Grand Theft Auto button.
1:29:36 - hence his name, Lobot. Super creative with names that lad George Lucas.
😜

Lol yea pricewise also

Cool maybe I'll pick it up then. I'd rather play with another Ubisoft open world than spend another thousand hours in San Andreas.
I don't know what was happening to andy. i've made that jump multiple times with no issue at all, just a sprint jump like he was doing???? Strange

Ubisoft stealth peaked with Chaos Theory. Pretty brave of them to make such a stealth-focused game
So xmas challenge for the jump at the end of the video surely i reckon 50 attemps should be enough
Wow! Did you see that yaw control?
I would say that in terms of stealth the game betrayed Andy...
I see the explosive red barrels have pet accessible self destruct buttons now. That's, uh, convenient.
I'll give the game credit for taking a typical object for the suspension of disbelief and finding a way to ask "But could you suspend it further?". No small feat that.
This is Star Wars, suspension of disbelief was left behind 40 years ago.
Andy Shattershins =D
I got through the imperial station with little issue, now I'm having a great time with the game. Hope you got through eventually
nice to see them try to be space jerks in this game, too bad the game was being an even bigger jerk with that forced stealth mission
Been playing this the last few days and loving it.
1:33:00 low profile "hello there" tribute
Missed it live but so far. CHAOS! :D

I'm from space-yorkshire!
Wow, I was so whelmed by what we saw of this game.
Right concept, wrong Star Wars game... Knights of the Old Republic would be the PERFECT space jerk stream
The "stealthy" parts is quite silly. All you have to do is follow the yellow colored stuff in the game environment.
with the graphics, I see valid in some comments. not years ago graphics, but its not as sharp as other ps5/series x games.
Both the enemies and the protagonist should watch wrestling matches, those knockout punches are NOT convincing, and sound like friendly pats

The loop on the opening music is waaay too short to be enjoyable.
idk if Id call a stealth section that takes you more than a couple minutes indefensible
Is it just the stream or does the hair on characters look kinda off?
Could be FSR. It screws with the grass pretty bad.
@@BobBobson That could be it. I'm so used to DLSS that I don't remember how jagged FSR could make things look.
