just buy the markers and a lemon. rub the lemon on a bunch of papers. put those papers between some pages of a book to keep them flat while they dry. tah-dah you have some wondercolor paper.
My niece loved these when she was real little, and we loved them too because she could color and we wouldn’t have to worry about her (or the walls, or the floor, or the furniture, etc lol) being covered in ink!
I remember a few years ago I had one of these markers left over from something when I was little, and tried to color with them on regular paper. Of course, it didn't work. I thought the marker was dead and threw it away. Sould've just poured some lemon juice on the paper.
I loved this video. It didn't just explain how it worked, but also showed how you could get to that conclusions. That's what science is about and you teaching that js great!
I had a bunch of these markers but for some reason I never had any paper to go with them so I just had a ton of useless markers. This just unlocked a new memory.
It ALWAYS bothered the hell out of me how they can never get the colors of the markers right. Like it’s not hard to just call the yellow marker orange and the blue purple because that was actually shows up.
My guess was that the paper was an acidity indicator like those strips for testing pool water and each color is made by a mixture of acid or base in the marker that would be indicated in the appropriate color on the paper, but ig their way is cheaper and probably easier lol
I had some unbranded (I probably forgot the company) markers, which had like 2 color in one marker tip, and one special marker. Suppose you write with blue marker, then you write over with the special white marker, the blue turns purple or smthing
I'd bet the ink in the color wonder paper is similar yo the acid indicator used, just formulated to have a clear starting color and vary when triggered.

1000 iq play, now you have to buy their marker AND their paper
A preferable alternative to having to scrub down or repaint walls for parents with small children.
Some people clean with lemons or high acidic content....imagine you go to clean your house and writing starts to show up on counters or walls. Spooby
Or just spray some lemon juice on paper

They are so interesting!
Just don’t spill lemon juice on it 😂
It is coloured in "ink" just that the colour hasn't presented itself yet. Just wait for a significant pH change and you'll get a free paint job.
@@lolzdatguy4987 but I think the kids wouldn’t bother drawing on furniture because they can’t see it
@@TommyTechnetium I wonder if stomach acid works on it aswell
You telling me I can get sheets of acid from crayola?
Yes, they'll make you see all the colors you couldn't before
💀
Underrated comment
wait no-
Bro💀
I had just finish watching all your shorts and i was thirsty for more. Ur videos r very interesting
Hey, thank you! 😊
True
It’s an acid and an acid indicator, really cool :)
I remember a few years ago I had one of these markers left over from something when I was little, and tried to color with them on regular paper. Of course, it didn't work. I thought the marker was dead and threw it away.
Sould've just poured some lemon juice on the paper.
Thank you for this. I've been wondering about these for a while now.
That's actually really neat, and kinda inventive how they thought to do that
I agree!
Your way too underrated! Love the channel keep it up, much love from Seattle
I'm In Seattle too
He's a really cool person! I had the pleasure of him being my chemistry professor in undergrad college!
I loved this video. It didn't just explain how it worked, but also showed how you could get to that conclusions. That's what science is about and you teaching that js great!
Thank you 😊
Thanks I was wondering after getting them for my child
I remember drawing on all my nails with these pens and for 5 years I thought I have nail polish on
I used to have those with a special paper that would color and form images! That's when I was very very little! :)
My first guess was: ph indicator?
This makes me want to start a Facebook hoax about how paper is dangerous 😂
🤣
I had these as a kid and completely forgot about it until this video.😭
I love enjoying science as a kid and understanding it as I get older. Super neat
Thank you so much I needed to know this
I grew up on these! So nostalgic 🥹
I loved those as a kid. Especially when they came with coloring books with hidden pictures.
Yes i graduated hs and looking to be a doctor. Yes i was completely invested in this the whole way through
I love the energy when you talk about science 🤍
I LOVED these markers growing up
ive loved these for years :DDD
Fred sold the mystery machine for color wonder markers
🤣
I remember loving these as a kid
Information I didn't need, but am thankful for receiving.
His voice just makes me think of that one science teacher whose really fun
Flash backs to me as a little kid always chewing on paper *and we had the color wonder paper and markers*
Omg I remember having these when I was like 5, they were so fun!
I remember these when I was a lil kid they were hella fun ngl
My ultimate memory as a child was the smell of these markers.
"I love science"
Me: Facts
This guy sounds like Fred from scooby doo and I love it
I had a bunch of these markers but for some reason I never had any paper to go with them so I just had a ton of useless markers. This just unlocked a new memory.
Nice ! That is very interesting !
Thank you 😊
Interviewer: what inspired you to makes these markers?
Crayola: MONEY
i grew up never knowing how. a part of my childhood has been settled. thank you.
This was super informative and entertaining! 🙂
Wow!! I subbed btw!!!
Some kid that ate the color wonder paper “mommy am I supposed to hear colors”
This reminds me of those coloring books when we were kids, it was just like this except there were lines and the marker came with the book
This feels like a Nile red video except for kids art supply
That is really cool, I always wanted to know how they work. I am glad I found this
awsome video with a good pace
Gotta love science!
I ❤️ 🧪
Could he be the voice actor of Chris from family guy?
Seth Green?
It sounds like im watching a kid's video teaching ABCs to a 2 year ago old and I love it.
omg tjank you these used to fascinate me as a kid
They fascinate me and I'm an old man!
10/10 very good science
Thanks! Now I know how to make my own paper!
That shade of purple in the beginning is so pretty lol
Upon watching this short, all I could smell was the very distinct smell of these markers. I totally forgot I had them growing up
Fantastic! Now my kids won't be marking up all over my walls.
Gosh the whole style of this reminds me of those old kid reviewers I used to watch like lucky penny shop
Thats amazing! I never knew that :0
omg i loved these when i was a kid i thought these were the best things ever! plus it’s good because they won’t get on furniture and stuff
Oh wow
Okay why was it so satisfying when he poured the acid on the normal paper and the other?
Interesting very interesting
Thank you
That’s cool I’ve always wondered about this
this man sounds like Peter and joe's (family guy) voices combined
I wondered what you have been doing since you stopped doing the Smucker’s commercials!
You sound like the voice in a science video that teachers show in classes but you actually are talking about something intresting
Thanks tommy very cool
I never went to kindergarten but I imagine this is what it would feel like
That’s very Interesting I find that a very good way for kids to not draw on walls and etc. it’s also very clever
THANK YOU!!, tHE mystery solved!! 😌👏👏😲
The internet has ruined me. I saw the two markers next to each other and immediately thought "one of those is cake"
Everyone gangsta til the kids be doing the paper in strips
I remember these bro they were so cool
That’s so cool
this dude put his saturation on fucking STUN
Cool
wow magic!
It's interesting that the colour wonder paper is also tinted yellow
I REMEMBER THEASE!!!
You are very smart and I'm subbed ❤
Thank you 😊
Iitterally used universal indicator yesterday for chemistry
Thanks, I can possibly use this as a science experiment with my class.
Let me know how it works!
Use these for my little one, been wondering how it works and then boom this shows up haha thanks
Nice!
It’s an advanced invisible ink that’s incredible and it’s made for children
i deadass thought that was a plate at first
Thanks for this❤
Welcome 😊
I'd like those for secret messages. Idk why. I'd need it but it'd be fun
Wow😁😁
Thank you 😊
“To test the papper for acid, lets smoke it”

I used to be able to stay up during nap time and I would always draw on these. Good times.
🤓
Thanks, Mr Plinkett
That is cool I never knew this

This is like the skylander games marketing technic in art form.
I'd bet the ink in the color wonder paper is similar yo the acid indicator used, just formulated to have a clear starting color and vary when triggered.
This has been out for 30 years except it used to be two pens... IE pink changes to blue when you write over, there was a clear one as well I think
Is my chemistry teacher running my TH-cam shorts recommendations?
When you said “Hey look!” you sounded like the teacher fish from bubble guppies
