John 3:16 says for God so love the world [and he give] God gave not jesus coming on his own, in other words God sent. Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane before it was time for Him to die. He prayed to ask that the suffering He was about to encounter would pass or not occur. The Bible also speaks about Elijah praying to stop rain and bring it again. The dead was also raised because of prayer. It is not that God does not know what we need but it is His design for His creation to commune with Him. Also, God is a spirit and He gave dominion of this earth to humans. Prayer is the way we invite Him into our situations. Praise and prayer are very important.

Prayer is not just asking God for things. Prayer is also about warfare. As believers we do not wrestle àgainst flesh and blood but against Principalities, rulers and powers of darkness...we have to pray. Bible even says we should pray without ceasing.
