- When Ash had her 20week scan done, we asked the sonographer if she could find out the gender of our baby but keep it a secret. At the end of the ultrasound we passed her a bag with an envelope in it and asked if she could write the gender in that, keeping it a secret from us.
The hardest part about all of this was having the envelope in our possession for over 24hrs and not being able to look inside! But with much self-control, Ash took the envelope to a Balloon Store where she explained we needed either pink or blue balloons depending on the result.
I constructed the box, which was incredibly over engineered as I made it out of a timber pallet wrapped with cardboard. However, Ash decorated it with the "pretty" gold wrapping and chalkboard love-heart thingy. That's out of my depth.
We got our awesome friends Ange and Luke to put the balloons in the box when no one was looking and there you have it! A baby gender reveal party! We hope you like this video.

Hey Niamh... that actually was the plan but the box was a bit small so we decided to make the balloons a little less inflated which unfortunately meant they didn't fly away :(
I always watch these and hope that there will be purple balloons for boy-girl twins.
