Your timeline on Sayid is correct - 1991 Gulf War Republican Guard - Sept 2004 in Sydney for this episode...the CIA said it had been 7 years since he left Iraq, spending 6 months here, 3 months there (i.e. trying to find someone). So Sayid stayed in Iraq until about 1997, then started looking for Nadia. Later in the episode Sayid told Essam "We (Nadia) were separated years ago" - so when exactly they last saw each other is ambiguous, but would be somewhere between 1991 when he freed her and 1997 when he started looking for her again per the CIA statement
yeah and Post-9/11 it makes sense the CIA would be tracking down terrorists and so Sayid got caught up in that

@23:55 LOST is easy to binge, but the show provides a lot of info and the brain can start getting fried if you're not careful. Luckily, you get to watch it again when editing.
AGREED! Boone was dying regardless. Locke could've said Boone fell from a cliff, fell from a cliff in a small plane, got punched by a polar bear, had extreme constipation, and Jack couldn't do anything to fix it.
100% agree; and even though it's his first time watching, he gets the the Island would have saved him if it wanted him too, plus all the logical reasons he listed (no clean room, medication, etc.). I heard a doctor analyze the look of the break and they said it was accurate to be the kind Jack describes in the show, but also said that means there's no way Jack could have saved him under those circumstances. Obviously, Jack has his 'I must save everyone/can't let go' issues, so I think it's mostly misdirected anger, but assaulting him and calling him a murderer is too much.

You're right about Sayid being in the millitary in the 1st gulf war. But the Nadia scenes from his earlier episodes were probably after the 1st gulf war (even if we don't know the exact year) but he was still in Iraq millitary after the gulf war. And yes now he's pursuing the memory of a woman from several years ago. He said something like that to Daniel Rousseau (French chick) in late moments of his ealier episode.
