      I have a picture book: The Rolling Stones on Tour which is from the post Exile days and Ron Wood's first tour. Lots of great pics of Ronnie's sunburst Stratocaster(s). Bought the book in '77. Don't know if you can find it or not. Great pictures all around.

      That's just the guitar market. It's also Ron Wood's Zemaitis.

    • @jennifersman7990
      @jennifersman7990 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Zemaitis didn't build his guitars on an assembly line, they were always custom made on a commission basis to the artists specifications, the wood was exotic, the electronics, etc. plus the silver on the front had artwork etched into it. He was the English equivalent to Alembic

    • @chrispalin4043
      @chrispalin4043 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      william harvey In the 1970s Tony Zemaitis was the finest luthier in the world, and hand made guitars for celebrity clients - people like Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Eric Clapton.
      He only made about 30-40 and hence they're very rare and insanely valuable.
      Ronnie Woods Zemaitis is probably worth about 400k dollars. And that's not the celebrity ownership inflating the value. They're just incredibly rare, and incredibly sought after👍

      That's NOT his collection just what's on this tour. Some of it. Cause I've seen him playing a Tele and he didn't show a Tele. Alco some more acoustics behind him and when you think about the Stones and guitars, they're just tools to do a daily job. So I would bet that while Keef owns this 1 and Ronnie owns that 1 they just pick up whatever suits there mood. And Mick plays ever once in a while also.

    After seeing "Shine a Light" last year, I have much greater regard for Ronnie's lead playing. While I would agree that M. Taylor was the finest lead guitarist the Stones ever had, Ronnie is no slouch; I've also seen him w/the band (in `75, `78, `81, `89 & `97), and can attest that he grooves as well as anyone.

    I was sad when Woody joined the Stones, because I felt it would be the end of his writing and making a real mark. He would as I suspected graciously bow to the brilliance of Jagger and Richards. He has made many solo records and that was good but in the stones he's spent his time politely complementing the others and never over stepping his bounds. In the Faces he was the man multi-tracking guitars and mandolins and composing. In the stones he's a compliment to Richards and a safeguard.

    I think he was brought in to actually bolster Keith's playing; i.e., to fill the holes Keith leaves. Have you ever really sat and listened to Ronnie's playing on the stuff from Black & Blue onward? 'Grow as a player?' This guy was touring with the Jeff Beck Group in '68 [on bass]. Did you hear what he just played on that acoustic lap-steel on this post? He's one of the most capable players on the planet earth.

    They're usually on telecasters or tele- style guitars. The back of the guitar is routed out for a mechanism that works when you pull down on the strap, the b- sting is raised either a whole of half a tone. I've been able to play only one on a Custom Shop Tele and it's pretty fun! Stonecrazy's right, it's used primarily by country guys, but Jimmy Page used one on In Through The Out Door by Zeppelin. You can hear it on "All My Love" and "Hot Dog"

    Ronnie woods uses one. Jeff Martin a more modern guitarist also uses a B-Bender.

      Robert Graf: No, but it's evidence that people will pay to see you play. His net worth is $90 million so yeah, he did something right. His work with the Stones is good. Unfortunately for Ronnie, he gets compared to Mick Taylor too much. I saw the Stones in 1978 3 feet in front of the stage. Ronnie was awesome. He and Richards just kicked ass together. Mick too. It was one of the funnest times I have ever had. It would be nice to see all of his guitars --- and Keith's.

      @@MegaMkmiller So, if a drug dealer makers 90 million, he did something right? You are aware that they used to pay teenage girls to go to the concerts and scream, knowing what effect that would have. I don't think you understand who was behind the British 'invasion'. The Rolling Stones are the most over-rated band in the world. Mick Jagger is an awful singer, and his schtick is lame as hell. Your argument about money is fallacious. By that standard, a con man gets vindicated. I take it you never studied formal logic.

    Ok, pundits. What is the story with Ronnie's gold guitar with the blue crystal/fishbowl thingy? He used it in Minneapolis two weeks back, maybe since then in Tampa and Dallas?

    @narnode I think you are meaning where he said "To name but a few" in other words he was mentioning some of the names of people who also had guitars made for them by that maker but only said some peoples names so was implying that there were more guitars made for other people as well.

    A b-bender is a guitar accessory.. you can see it on the body of the guitar near the bridge.
    With this thing, the guitarist can change (quickly) the b-string up a whole tone to a c-sharp.. I think that b-bender is mainly use for country music.
    But try to check that on google or something like that because I can't explain more (my english is so bad)..

    OMG. His spare is a 1954 Strat. I wonder how much money is that whole collection worth.
    It would be cool to see Keith's guitars as well.

    Dream on. The Zematais he is pointing at is a 1973 model, hand made by Tony Zemaidis, during his greatest guitar building period. He only made around 50 guitars in the 1970s, and they were all bought by the likes of Clapton, Page, Wood, Richards, Beck.
    The Zematias guitars from that era, are $250'000 minimum. If Ronny put that up for auction, it would probably go for a million dollars, even without his name being linked to it. It's one of the finest guitars ever built
