    Did this to my RR sport, worked perfectly! Only had to remove the door card and undo the 3 bolts that holds the actuator. From there I could bend the metalflap with two screwdrivers. Thanks for the video mate!

    My front passenger door had this problem. I was unable to fully remove the locking actuator from the car door b/c my window components were beyond impossible to remove.
    However, I was able loosen the locking mechanism and push it back into the empty car door space. I used a long flathead screwdriver and wedge it between the small metal 'thingy' we need to bend and the hard metal housing around it. I pushed upward and caused the metal 'thingy' to bend downwards.
    I lost the small copper spring to the left. I put everything back into place and tested the door. To my surprise the door locked and opened like new!!! I didn't need the spring! Save yourself some time and forget about the spring.
    Thank you for sharing with us; this was fantastic fix!!

    Boom! Same issue and the bending mod worked for me too! Getting it out was quite the job though!

    That is brilliant mate, I'm gonna try that on mine, it's a freelander 2 but it looks to be an identical lock mechanism. Great solution, well done and thanks for sharing. 👍👍

    Thanks for this video. I was able to remove the Torx screws and get to the small piece of metal without removing anything inside of the door. It works perfectly now.

    Thank you! That solution worked for me too, however at some point I would have to change the actuator because it seems "lazy" to unlock, I guess one of the little actuator motors is on its last days. In this video (th-cam.com/video/7Tkimzb9LEA/w-d-xo.html) there are instructions on how to remove the actuator, in my case I didn't need to completely remove it from the door, I could apply Elisante solution without removing the exterior handle cables, which seems the trickiest bit.

    God damn u are a good. After watching countless of videos and hearing all kind of rubbish I know mine works becuasd I can hear them operate u hear the click so the motors can't be dead and Jaguar want to charge me 1000$ for replacing 3 and this replacing motors no way what a fiddling job that's simply to cheap but the actuators complete still I know they work just like urs and now I see my problem to thanks man

    Thanks bud, I always used to replace these actuators with new ones and I just have a look at these old broken actuators which I kept and they all seem to have this plastic extension bit broken, next time I wouldn’t have to buy new ones.

    Do you have the video of how to get the door latch out??

    • @elisantesantos
      @elisantesantos  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      the hard part was taking out the weather/dust-proofing panel, and also its really hard to have to squeeze your arms inside the opening to unclip the window, because I had to take the window out to free space, but other than that, just unscrew the latch from outside with some torques bit and remove the cables first and pull the latch closer then unplug the harness. it wasn't hard at all, if I could do it, you can do it.the only difficulty for me was I had to find the problem and the best solution through try and error, I wish you a good luck

      Cheers Elisante, managed to do both front door latches in a couple of hours, relatively easy. Took speakers out to access window clips. Hardest part was unclipping the cables from the latch. I had replacement clips (to replace the broken part)and that took altogether 5 minutes to replace. Doors working as normal no alarm going off now. Happy.

      @@brian6674 Hi. Could you tel me how you got to the latch itself through the speakers? I took the door panel off but there is a solid metal piece blocking anything inside the door :(

    • @brian6674
      @brian6674 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ktyeboah I removed the speakers and the glass, plus moved the glass runner to one side. It was fiddly, managed to get out and replace the plastic bit. Fitting was just as fiddly needed a lot of patience, when completed such relief. Did all four doors.

    just tried this on my 07 Lr3 it worked just like you said if i hadn’t found your video i would have purchased a new door latch for the driver side i couldn’t get the cables coming from the out door handle so i used a hole saw 2” and allowed me to use the needle nose pliers and simply used foil tape to cover it up works great thank you for taking the time to make this video.
