I hope you are feeling much better now. Fab vlog! As soon as I saw that BTPD floral viscose fabric, I had to have it! I’ve got a wedding invite for later in the year and it will be perfect for a dress as a guest. Thank you for sharing. ❤😍x
Rachel, please don’t apologize for taking time off, everyone deserves time off. And take more time to rest so you feel better. You take care of you first. We can see the folds in that gold “denim”. I hope all works out with that. Can’t wait to see your project with the girls done, such gorgeous fabric.
It is lovely to sew bags when you don’t know what to sew. One day you will think of ten things you want to sew in the next week. By the way you look fabulous for someone who has been so sick!
I gasped when you pulled out the fabric godmother fabric. That is so incredible. I am sorry you have been poorly. Hopefully you will be completely well this weekend.
Rachel when you held that fabric up (from pink door )I thought it looked fab with your hair and colouring Also love the rose fabric from fabric godmother also looked amazing next to your hair skin tonex
Happy New Year Rachel... so sorry to hear you've been poorly... Glad your feeling a bit better 🙏. Love your bags 👌. I use my Haralson bag all the time. Well done for drafting your own... looks fab. Beautiful fabrics... enjoy your sewing 💖🤗😘
Great vlog. I stopped my BTPD subscription because I was just piling up the fabrics, I've had a felicity fabrics box for a couple of months and so far so good
Happy NY , Great video Rachel , love the fabrics but I’d send back the gold ,I think if you make the skirt it’s going to crease when you sit in it , looking forward to seeing the others made up 👍
I feel like I have won the lottery if I get through the Holiday season without contracting a "plague" of some kind. I am glad you are on the mend after a miserable week of the lurgies. Yes I can clearly see the fold creases in the fabric.
I loved the fabrics you showed for skirt and dress. I too received the same fabric you got and the fabric doesn’t work for me. But my daughter loved so I’ll be making something up for her.
The material from Fabric Godmother for the Bella dress will look stunning & love the twill with the roses on - great choices. However, I agree the creases on the gold fabric may be an issue & don’t think they will come out & think your best idea would be to return it. Sorry to hear you have been poorly, glad you’re on the mend & belated happy new year. 😊
Your bags are so cute! I just read a post on Love Notions Pattern FB site was asking about fold creases that won’t come out. A suggestion was to was it in vinegar water. Now, I wouldn’t wash that metallic in vinegar for fear that the smell would never leave, but thought I’d mention in the event you have the issue again on another kind of fabric. I love the floral you got for the skirt! My husband and I had Covid over Christmas and are finally feeling human again! I’m still easily tired but so much better than I was!
Great to see you back, get better soon. Loved the fabric from Beyond the Pink Door, the other colour in it is gorgeous. Bag making can be time consuming but worth it in the end. I made so many different bags I was affectionately called the bag lady 😂. Have a good week.
Hi Rachel Happy New Year, sorry to hear that you have been ill. I have the Harralson bag pattern and have been gathering all the bits for it. I picked it out as next thing to make as part of the #sewluckyjar2025 challenge. Look forward to seeing your makes in twenty twenty thrive 😜❤❤❤
Hi Rachel, I made a slate skirt with that exact same gold fabric. It does press fairly well using a pressing cloth. I think the fabric is a cotton twill, I bought mine from good fabric & it was marketed as that & yours looks identical to mine. It does make a fab slate skirt though 😅
Yes, creases are visible…so disappointing 😢 So sorry you have been sick, feel very much better very soon. Great to see your latest vlog. Sending New Year love and hugs 🍾 ☺️👍👏💕🧵Xx
I’ve been on an Ilford jacket kick so far this year and bag making as well! I sewed up the Petite Stitchery Embry backpack in a white jumbo cord and it’s so cute! It’s a FREE pattern! Prayers for complete health restoration and I love your bags!
Definitely see all the creases. It’s a very unforgiving fabric, crease wise. Love your bags. I’ve got a couple of kits and really want to get them sewn up this year, yes this friggin’ year 😂 wish me luck! Ha ha
Love that animal print bag that you designed and made. What you could have done was choose a animal print softer fabric for the frill. That way it would made a nice contrast to the bag, if you wanted to keep it all animal print. Sometimes I think it is good to have a change from makings clothes and doing other types of sewing like bag making. Looking forward to seeing the Oxbow Tote bag and the gold skirt - it will look amazing! All always find when not being well we can't decide on anything. Get well soon. By the way your hair looks lovely 😊😊
The first floral fabric for the Bella is stunning! About the metallic 'denim' -- if it's creased now, I wonder how it will wear when you make a skirt out of it. I would think that any creases from when you sit in it will not come out very easily. Also, if it's synthetic it may not feel very nice to wear because it won't be breathable. Hope you feel better soon. ❤
I have made lots of project bags with plastic fronts. The plastic has been folded so has similar creases. I use a hair dryer to remove the creases and ripples. The plastic warms up enough to be slightly floppy, but the creases are gone. Lay it out flat. Once cold it returns to its normal structure. Maybe worth a try. Good luck 🤞
Thank you, Rachel, for pushing through when you are still feeling unwell. Your fabrics are lovely, so how disappointing to see those lines in the gold fabric. There are quite a few fold lines, actually, so a return may be required. Your bag is great, and altering the small pocket is simple if you can undo the turning out section. Best wishes to get well soon.🎉😂🎉 🇦🇺 🪃
What about hanging it in your laundry while the tumble dryer is running? I’ve found the ‘damp’ heat kinda helps with relaxing fabrics. I’m more worried about their mislabelling the fabric as denim. If they get it wrong, what hope is there for us still learning?😱 Wonderful vlog again. I hope you feel better soon❤️
Get well soon. 😊. Happy sewing no matter what you make. I am in a funk too so bag making😅😅. I think I have SO many clothes I don’t actually need anything. Lynne
It's lovely to see you, as always. Hope you're 100% again soon. All your fabrics are gorgeous and I can't wait to see your makes. I actually prefer that colourway of Andrea's 2 options, but can see it's not for you. ❤
Nice to see you Rachael. Glad you are feeling better. I really like your hair. How do you get the beach wave curl in it? My hair is about the same length as yours. I really like the cross body bag you made. You always do such a professional job in your sewing makes. Love the lining. All the best, Jill
The gold fabric may not be the best choice for the skirt because I think you will get creases when you sit in it, so I agree with some of the other comments. If it were me, I would send it back. I feel the same way about linen! But then I have a lot of me that always creates unwanted creases! 😂
I’m glad you are starting to feel better. I think you are worrying too much about the gold fabric. It will be much more wrinkled when you wear it. I am anxious to see what you will make with the floral fabric.
Loved this chatty vlog. The fabrics are gorgeous.Have you tried steaming the gold fabric in the shower? Has crafty pie got a different name?I am subscribed to her channel but it's been a year since she's vlogged.
Also, isnt the large size of the bestie bag big enough for an overnight bag? Rachel, the deep creases are showing up on the gold vinyl. I definitely would send it back.
A technique in bag making is to iron your ironing board till it’s very hot then rub the fabric on the hot surface right side to the ironing board. That fabric is sooo not you. I’m excited to see what subscription you do next
The winter bugs are horrible, Rachel. Rest and take care of yourself. If that gold fabric creased badly in transit, will you be able to sit down in it if you make a skirt? I'd go for the refund.
Hello Rachel I would send it back It am wondering if you make a skirt will it crease while you are sitting and be permanent There are other metallic types of fabric that would make a shirt I would consider instead Just Don't want you to go through the work and then online wear it a little and not be happy Just thinking out loud to give you caution Hopefully you will get feeling 100 percent soon Take care of yourself Happy sewing 👗 ✂️ 🪡 🧵 💓
I can't believe it was firstly advertised as a denim! Come on FG you should know your fabric compositions. I would definitely send that gold fabric back, I mean how will it wash? I don't mean to be offensive about the Beyond the Pink door fabric, but that fabric is a bit curtain like. Not very pretty especially the colours. I cancelled my box when i got that horrible black and flowery cotton fabric before. It wasn't a dress fabric but more a craft cotton
Hope you are feeling better now! You look great! Love the bag! Can't wait to see your Oxbow tote.❤❤❤❤
I hope you are feeling much better now. Fab vlog! As soon as I saw that BTPD floral viscose fabric, I had to have it! I’ve got a wedding invite for later in the year and it will be perfect for a dress as a guest. Thank you for sharing. ❤😍x

Hope you feel back to normal soon🌻
It is lovely to sew bags when you don’t know what to sew. One day you will think of ten things you want to sew in the next week. By the way you look fabulous for someone who has been so sick!
Make up!
Bag making is so satisfying I agree! So sorry you’ve been poorly. The bag journey is intoxicating to make the perfect bag and most useful. Have fun
I gasped when you pulled out the fabric godmother fabric. That is so incredible. I am sorry you have been poorly. Hopefully you will be completely well this weekend.

Rachel, I am so impressed with your new bag! I enjoy watching you create new garments and other things like your beautiful bag. Great video.
Hope you feel better soon. I saw the creases you mentioned I would return because surely it will crease also when made up x
That black/purple bag is very inspiring - gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing.
Oh please document your journey with that dress. That’s the first pattern that I’m actually excited about. And that fabric is stunning
Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for taking the time to vlog. Love the bags you made. Take care x
Happy New Year Rachel. Love watching you, get well soon🌈
You've inspired me to make bags! 😊 . Off topic, but I LOVE that lipstick color on you!
Great vlog as always so sorry you haven’t been well. I hope you get your gold fabric sorted out. ❤
Speedy recovery Rachel, take it easy ❤
Hi Rachel. I hope you take a weekend to relax, recharge, and fully recover. May you feel better soon, Antonia
OMG that satin twill in that pattern - just stunning - and really suits you!! Can’t wait to see it!!!
Great vlog. I stopped my BTPD subscription because I was just piling up the fabrics, I've had a felicity fabrics box for a couple of months and so far so good

I see the creases just fine.
I loved the fabrics you showed for skirt and dress. I too received the same fabric you got and the fabric doesn’t work for me. But my daughter loved so I’ll be making something up for her.
I see the creases

Happy New Year Rachel. Yes, the creases are very obvious in that fabric. Take care of yourself and get well soon😘

I saw your skirt Claire it’s fabulous! Sadly I think I’m going to have to return this as the creases just aren’t coming out
@ oh no! That’s such a shame 😢
Yes, creases are visible…so disappointing 😢
So sorry you have been sick, feel very much better very soon.
Last fabric is stunning!
Love your hair.❤

That 4 meters viscose is gorgeous! I would love it.
Made three harastene bag as Christmas present and for myself. Inspired by my inspired my recent Paris trip last month
Really nice bag! Love lining
I love making bags. There is a free pattern I just made. " Sunshine cross body bag" I love it. Quick make.

Loving the finished bag! Still chuckling that I knew you had a bag kit for an overnight bag and you didn’t 😂
😁
The Bella dress is so you. Hope you feel 100% soon.
I have made lots of project bags with plastic fronts. The plastic has been folded so has similar creases. I use a hair dryer to remove the creases and ripples. Yes Rachel l can see the creases either side of the fabric ✂️🪡🧵

Do get well soon. These winter bugs are so debilitating xx
Hope you’re back to 100% soon!

That skirt will be gorgeous!
Happy New Year Rachel
Get properly better soon Rachel xxx
We can see the creases Rachel. My your hair is looking gorgeous.
Get well soon. 😊. Happy sewing no matter what you make. I am in a funk too so bag making😅😅. I think I have SO many clothes I don’t actually need anything. Lynne
Good trial bag! Go Rachel ❤
I can see the folds in the gold fabric.

Yep…creases are very noticeable
A technique in bag making is to iron your ironing board till it’s very hot then rub the fabric on the hot surface right side to the ironing board.
I love that tote! Do show us what you end up making! Hugs!
The creases show up a lot, I would return it.
The lining on that first bag! I love it so much❤the fabric for the dress-so gorgeous. Can you return that fabric? It's not what you ordered.
The only thing with the gold fabric is if it creases with folding what will it be like wearing it and sitting in it. Just a thought. X
Nice to see you Rachael. Glad you are feeling better. I really like your hair. How do you get the beach wave curl in it? My hair is about the same length as yours. I really like the cross body bag you made. You always do such a professional job in your sewing makes. Love the lining. All the best, Jill
I can see the creases, send it back
🐯
I can see the creases.
Hi Rachel, have you tried your hairdryer on the creases? Yes we can see them. Your new fabrics are beautiful.
Oooh no I haven’t I’ll try that thank you, front or back?
The gold fabric may not be the best choice for the skirt because I think you will get creases when you sit in it, so I agree with some of the other comments. If it were me, I would send it back. I feel the same way about linen! But then I have a lot of me that always creates unwanted creases! 😂
I want to make that slate skirt too. But I struggled with the basalt top so much I am worried about how I will do with it.
Turn your small pocket into a "tissue pocket" which of course is a design element.😊
I put my lipbalm in those small useless pockets 😂
I’m glad you are starting to feel better. I think you are worrying too much about the gold fabric. It will be much more wrinkled when you wear it. I am anxious to see what you will make with the floral fabric.
I can also see the creases. Do you think it would crease while wearing it as a skirt?
Yes.
why not try the Sew Hayley Jane box? I love it! hope you"re feeling much better soon 🐾🐾
feel better
Hi Rachel, love the vlog and those wonderful fabrics. Where did you get the last one from, the one with the roses on. Just gorgeous
Beyond the pink door x
Make a slip instead of lining ..can use it under many garments
I don’t think that bag needs ruffles. Looks great!
Def can see it 😢
xXX👍👍👍

Uncreasing the metallic fabric will be like trying to un crinkl alliminum foil after it has been crunched up.
Meant to say - the creases are really obvious!
Hello Rachel
I would send it back
It am wondering if you make a skirt will it crease while you are sitting and be permanent
There are other metallic types of fabric that would make a shirt
I would consider instead
Just Don't want you to go through the work and then online wear it a little and not be happy
Just thinking out loud to give you caution
Hopefully you will get feeling 100 percent soon
Take care of yourself
Happy sewing 👗 ✂️ 🪡 🧵 💓
I can see the creases in the gold fabric; I doubt you will be happy with it
I can't believe it was firstly advertised as a denim! Come on FG you should know your fabric compositions. I would definitely send that gold fabric back, I mean how will it wash?
