The fail here was NOT the performer's. It was the stage manager's, in the control booth calling the cues. Yes, Elsa was too slow and missed her cue, BUT it is the SM's job to not call the lights up cue until the costume change is complete. And yes, they have the technology to be able to see in the dark. But even if they didn't, as a stage manager you develop the eyesight and instinct. (I'm a retired Production Stage Manager.) The SM was lazy and relied on habit. Hence, the fail. Not the artist's fault.
I’ve studied this dress and show and the stage manager is not at fault this show is all technical and no one controls the quickchange lighting. There have been many failures with this dress but the lighting only lasts those three seconds mainly so they can get the ripcord pulled to make the dress change. Even if they wanted they wouldn’t be able to still have it dark unless they stop the show.
ii_Nyxx_ii Yh but the hair would be in the way of the dress transformation And as you can see, when the takes the hair down the hair isn’t in the braid it’s quite loose and it’s curled so if they did the hair first then the hair would look a mess at the end

The top of the dress is basically a “jacket”. She pulls a string connected to both the coronation dress and the ice dress. The top of the dress then goes on the floor. The skirt goes underneath. After the song. A person takes the top of the dress of the stage and they black it out while that’s being done.
So for some reason the Hyperion uses a black out for Elsas quick change the Disneyland Paris actually has a lot more realism like Paris has a stage called magic a spectacular as I remember I don’t really remember in that time they had a frozen 2016 so what they did on Elsa‘s Quicks change is a lot more better than Hyperion so they actually use a projection screen for the back as the background and another projection screen on her quick change and then instead of just staying still she spins and then the lights flash everywhere which I like a lot better for Paris because Hyperion is just so sad that we do not get to see her in the black out
