For 98 unlimited match how did you get 3d backgrounds? I have the steam version and could’ve sworn it was an option at one point but can’t find it anywhere, same with 2002 Edit: fixed 2002 because I said 2001
I believe the version you have kof 98 unlimited match final version. That version doesn't have the 3d backgrounds at all for some reason it's just 2d kof 98 with all the gameplay refinements that 98 unlimited match added.

I'll agree since Kyo and Iori's dynamic never goes anywhere. We've already had them fight and work together, but all they do is repeat the same beats. Especially Iori with his edgelord self.
Kyo have not been the main protagonist since 98. He is still a major character in KoF because he is the one that started it all, but not the MC. And no, this isn't a "Japanese want their protagonists to be Japanese" things at all. Out of all the SnK fighting games protagonists, only him and Ryo are japaneses. Terry and Rock are americans, K' is unknown, Ash is British, Shun'ei is Chinese. If anything, making Kyo a Japanese teenager was a way to make him distinct from Terry. Finally and more importantly, they'll not make Ryo the protagonist of KoF because, that's not "his serie", even if they phased out Kyo and Iori that wouldn't change it. Thankfully Art of Fighting is returning. *That* will be Ryo's time to shine.

Then turned 23 in KOF'94, and stayed 24 in every following sequel. Ryo Sakazaki is 21-23 in the AOF trilogy (taking place in 1978-1980). He's 32 in Buriki One (taking place in 1999). But is 24 in all KOF games.
