    Wow I didn't expect to be hit with nostalgia here. That wood trim is part of what my parents used to rebuild their stairs after the previous carpet stairs were ruined in a flood. They replaced it with this beautiful stained wood staircase, with accents of that trim. We sold that house recently, but at least the stairs are still beautiful

    I don't know if you have one in your area, (you can check online) but Habitat For Humanity has discount "Re-store" stores with everything from electrical/building supplies, furniture, tile, flooring, doors, and even landscaping supplies. Everything is very reasonable, and some places will even let you bargain the prices. I found an old vanity that I kept an eye on for almost 3 years. It was super heavy and they just kept moving it around the store until they stuck it upstairs in a corner under a bunch of lamp shades. It was listed for $280 which is expensive for that store (unless it's an appliance/sink/toilet/couch most things are under $100) but it was an antique, and in good condition. I really wanted it and I ended up bargaining the price down to $50, plus I donated a ton of paving stones left over from a project. After cleaning it up, and fixing a broken leg, replacing the mirror, and resealing it with a wax/oil compound it it Stunning. (A friend came by and was dumbfounded I found it and only paid $50. Considering it is a Stickley and worth about 100 times what I paid😁.!)

    If you or someone you know can get onto a military base, drive around the neighborhoods in the morning before the garbage trucks come by, you might see a lot of decent furniture just left out on the curb that people get rid of (usually bc of a PCS move). Me and my husband picked up a coffee table, a larger end table with a nice piece of glass on it, and a matching set of little end dressers. We brought them in and cleaned them up and now they’re part of our home. Didn’t do anything special to upgrade them because I didn’t have time but they’re clean, functional, and they were free!!

    • @seancarriere8643
      @seancarriere8643 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, PCS move locations are awesome. Either slightly broken because of the cheap movers they use or when you're overweight on inspection day and that stuff is out. I found a perfect condition queen bedroom set from Ashley on the curb of fort Carson housing once, every single piece. I've had to leave stuff behind before too. If I have to report in two days and the moving company still doesn't have a truck, you best believe I'm not getting an AWOL charge over a dining room table no matter the cost.

    You should get a table like that and put pinkish red colored droops or slime droops however U say it along the side then paint the whole thing a pretty orange kinda like the orange u did on ur sisters wall in her room. Then add a fuzzy white chair by it! I think that would be rlly cute. Maybe add some plants and a little book holder on it or magazine holder! Maybe also put like a little essential holder on it with like pens,pencils,paint brushes, or like erasers or paper clips!
