Great video ! Yet you forgot some importants place to visit while in French Guiana : The Marais de Kaw (Its a Marshland Nature Reserve with mangrove forests, savannas, and tropical rainforests. This is the largest wetland of France); The Guianan Carnival (who is the most important annual event in the region); The Voltaire falls (the biggest in the region) And I wanted to add that the Devil’s Island is part of the Salvation Islands…
Spent 8 weeks in Kourou working for Boeing. The food is sketchy in most places. The people are really nice for the most part. Stay away from the Saramaka Village at night. The trip to Isla DeSalut (Devil's Island) is amazing. Did it twice.
i want to go to cayenne, but it seem like nothing grows in this country like everything is imported ? is fruit something that's available year round ? and cheap what food is cheap there ?
@@pauliescott wow didint know fresh fruit was abounds, im from india here we grow everything, what fruits do you have year round ? and also is their any beach with turquoise blue water or is it muddy like rest of south america beach ?
The lighthouse you mentioned is actually in Kourou, not on a island. Also for the monkey trail, you should mention that the hut on top of the hill is infested with spiders. Not dangerous, but big ones that might scare some people away. Kourou is about an hour away from Caynenne. And always keep the year cycle in mind. In the rain season, its not that nice obv. The space centres museum is closed at the moment until the end of 23. The are free guided tours on the space centre available, but you have to register 48 hours before. Not two days, but actually 48hrs...
You have to realise how remote and wild French Guyana is, it's almost entirely amazon rainforest this isn' the everglades here..., making it isolated from not only mainland France but also much of south America's economic centers. It's absolutely nothing like Florida, although it kinda use to be in a way since France colonized Florida with the Spanish interestingly enough.
It is not. People like you are the reason why channels use AI now, because even after spending THOUSANDS of dollars on real voiceover artists, you with your NPC brain CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE between a real human and AI voice.
Interesting!! The history of these colonized countries always fascinate me. As an African American I would like to visit to soak up the history. It seems very fascinating in that respect. I've been to Paris and have met folks who are from there, just some good people with great vibes

I’m glad you mentioned Papillon! Devil’s Island would be one of the first places I’d visit!

Fresh fruit abounds.
Rum is everywhere too
Food safety is questionable at best

Yeah.
Right.
Almost everything costs 30% more than in metropolitan France because it's all imported.
Thanks you so much for representing my country 😍 !!!
It's my pleasure
I never knew anything about your country but it looks like a beautiful place it would be awesome to visit some day
Omg!! What a confusing history with the guyanas, tthanks ❤

Do you know if French Guiana has taxi’s
@@jazmin1a456 they do, but almost only in Cayene. Havent seen one in Kourou.
Also make sure you enter only official taxis
@@jazmin1a456 Yeah they do. I took one from Cayenne to the airport, it was 50 euros 6 years ago
The water looks polluted, but the islands look so 😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks! Brief and to the point.
I’m from Jamaica and I just found out about the island yesterday at the carifta games.. So I had to do my research
It's an awesome place!
Cool, I visited.
Awesome!
I am Jamaican and this is my first time hearing of this place and you really oversold it in this video

I feel like this could be the Florida of France but it's so underdeveloped
Sadly :(
*This is is the French Departement for the Space Industry ( the best in the world ) , nothing more !*

Salvation Islands and Devils Island sre the same thing, just so you dont have to make two trips.
Thanks for clarifying.
AND the Devil island (singular) is one of the three islands, which you cannot access. All the footage in this part were actually taken in Royal island
And the lighthouse is in Kourou, not on the Islands...

Yes they are.
