Faizan Ali Khan - Yaman - Shamchaurasi Gharana -Grandson of Ustad Salamat Ali Khan

Faizan Ali Khan (21) renders Raag Yaman (Aiman) at the Honhaar Festival organised by Takiya Online. Faizan is the son and disciple of the illustrious Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan and grandson of the legendary Ustad Salamat Ali Khan. Faizan is the current generation representing this 500 year old vocal tradition of the Shamchaurasi Gharana. Accompanying Faizan on the tabla is Dawood Justin.
Faizan has regularly performed at leading music festivals in both Pakistan and abroad, including Lahore Music Forum, APMC, Music Room London, SAMA Arts and Khalsa College. This performance of Raag Yaman includes a vilambit khayal, concluded by a tarana.

Beautiful performance! Thank you so much for organizing this and supporting Classical music! I daresay his voice is more melodious than Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan saheb's. The technical prowess and _murkis_ etc can and will certainly improve with time.

Yes shskshsm Singh Rajput is absolutely right. Music is a dynamic function of the singer. Question of comparision is smacked with stagnation.
