Singapore is proof of the power of high economic freedom, free markets, low taxes and less bureaucracy. One of the most capitalist countries in the world. Anyone who is young and works there and accumulates bitcoin (which is a store of value, money with superior characteristics to gold) in the long term, thinking about retirement in 20, 30 years, will have a very prosperous future. Especially since there is no tax on capital gains. Study bitcoin, guys. Stack sats.
I just got back from Singapore. It's a great country to live for the RICH. I talked to many over 60 year-old people, who are still working in the hotels, restaurants, taxi drivers, etc. They can't afford to retire when they are 60 years-old, or having cancers? I was wondering how the government taking care of its elderly citizens. May be taxing the capital gains for the RICH about 10% and taking care of the elderly? Perhaps? Anyone cares?
hello welcome to SG, hope you enjoyed it! where are you visiting from? i don't think capital gain tax will solve the problem. even if govt is taking 10%, how are you going to ensure they will create a program for elderly with this 10%? i don't know about their priorities, but CPF is one of the main sources of income for elderly
@@TheKrazyKoala With this 10% capital gains from multi-millionaires and billionaires, SG can provides free gym membership for elderly citizens (I danced Zumba with elderly in front of the shopping mall across from China town in a hot and humid weather. There should be a free gym for them.) The government should funding the cancer and Alzheimer researches, providing free cancer screening for all people, lowering the drug prices for women and elderly. Most older people I talked to prefer to die if they have cancer and save money to give to their children. Sad!
Hi Koala, It's nice that you have inspired him to become a digital nomad to travel the world like you have done. No capital gains tax? That is amazing. I wonder how Singapore is able to generate all of its revenue? It really does seem like the Switzerland of the East. Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
We generate wealth by investing in people - high quality education, high quality infrastructure, consistent and stable laws. We have very low income taxes as well… 20+% for million dollar earners. Most people are paying about 0.5-3% with a $40-50k income. From villages, farms and fishing villages in 1965 to where we are now.
Very happy that this Malaysian Singapore, rag to riches and digital capitalism videos are thru the roof. This is kinda of the 2nd best video after Grab Delivery Koala. Great job and thinking since from this new phase.
