Derek 'Tommo' Thompson on his Cheltenham Festival memories & the Greg James meme; "Are you well?"

Nick Seddon grabbed Derek Thompson at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival media day for a chat about his colourful career as a journalist and broadcaster, which has spanned over 50 years.
In the interview, he reveals what it's like working at the Festival as a broadcaster, and the staggering amount of footsteps he takes in a week, before looking back on some of his favourite memories of the event form years gone by.
'Tommo' is best known these days for his racing reports on BBC Radio 5 Live, though last year he was unexpectedly thrust into the limelight on sister channel BBC Radio 1 - courtesy of a certain Greg James. We look back on that rather bizarre jump into popular culture - which included a hit record - and how it all began.
