Thank you so much Misty!!😘🤗 yess I didn’t think I would feel so emotional. I think because I was being forced to do it. It’s been such a relief since though so I’m really happy about that 🙌🏾
I’m 8 years in and in need for a good trim. Getting it done today as we speak and I came across this video. I can’t wait to feel lighter!!!! This gave me the confidence I needed!
Thank you sooo much Sis!!😘🤗 I didn’t think so until I looked at them from the back lol 😂. Omg it feels sooooo good! So far I haven’t had any neck pain since I cut them 🙌🏾
@@itsDawnElle Yes, a nice WAIST length! That’s my goal then I’ll reevaluate if I want to go longer. That’s good, so glad it alleviates your neck pain! It’s a WIN all the way!
I cut 4 inches off mines today they were past my butt I feel so much relief i had my loctician even them out she took off a lil bit so 4 1/2 inches all together i feel so good ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ been growing mines 19 yrs
I have had locs for 14 and a half years and now thigh length - this includes cutting almost a foot off in the past. They grow like grass and are quite heavy.
Thank you so much Cryssy!!😘🤗 It is still really long 😂. I’m still surprised when I see it from the back bc from the front it looks like it’s so much shorter to me. Omg it’s been such a relief for my neck. It hasn’t hurt me at all since I cut them.
Hi Dawn! I'm sure that you can still do that side braid. I remember the side braid video from a few years back. My locs were not long enough at that time but I can do it now. My locs never feel heavy unless they are wet, but seeing that you had over 2 ounces of weight in that little bit, it makes me wonder if some of my neck pain is from this too.🤔 Thanks for sharing💜
Hi Darlene!! Yes, I'm pretty sure I still can too lol. I need to do that style again because it's been a while, plus it was cute lol! Oh yeah, that's how mine started off at first....only heavy when wet and then next thing you know my neck was hurting me every single day to the point of almost tears at times. I'm afraid your hair maybe the cause of your neck pain, although I'm hoping it's not. Try some neck stretches to see if that helps before you decide to cut them unless you're okay with cutting them now. You're so welcome and thank you so much for watching and walking with me on this journey! 😍
Recording in portrait mode is far better because of how long your locs are. We can see the length more... Landscape would have been too short. Reels, Shorts & Toc vids are all portrait anyways
You are so right Mari! I was just so mad because I really try hard not to forget and I was moving so fast trying to get it recorded that I didn’t remember until the end 😂
I’m 4 years in and mine already almost to my behind. I’m thinking about cutting bc it’s heavy and I miss my styles with my shoulder length hair. So thank you for this
I have two of those bonnets and they are cool for me sometimes but I also don’t like the feeling of laying on my hair of it’s going down my back so most of the time I wear the bonnets that I’ve made. Thank you soo much!!😘🤗 Ohhhhh enjoy your cruise girrrrl!🙌🏾😍🙌🏾
I cant grow mine out that long, my head and neck hurt really bad. More power to those who can grow their locs out but ive come to understand this round of locs (est. Oct 2013) arent meant to grow forever. Eventually i will start over when I have children. So i cut them to my shoulders when they start hanging at the length that you cut yours too. The first cut always feels painful but once im finished i feel less tense and more refreshed.
Thank you so much!🤗😘 I did think about it at first but honestly I’m really loving my ends how they are 🤭…I’m not sure if it’s bc it’s still new or what but if I feel the urge to then maybe I’ll do it to get the curly ends again. ☺️
Sis….I am so there! Mine are booty length now and the weight is for real!!!!!!🤦🏾♀️💇🏾💇🏾💇🏾 I’m thinking hard to do this myself, to mid back length (maybe 2-3 inches above my waist)…getting the nerve up!😂😂😂
Your locs look amazing and the trim looks great as well ❤️👍🏾👏🏾🤗
Thank you so much!🤗
Oh my goodness!😊. Your locs are still 🔥. I understand the strong emotion behind cutting. But you did it with love ❤️ 😊
Thank you so much Misty!!😘🤗 yess I didn’t think I would feel so emotional. I think because I was being forced to do it. It’s been such a relief since though so I’m really happy about that 🙌🏾
I cut my Locs also bc I had neck pain.
Great job.
They will grow back In no time.
Thank you so much! Did you feel immediate relief like I did? I’m still amazed how much it helped me since I cut them. So far no more pain🙌🏾😍🙌🏾
So happy you got the relief you needed!
Thank you soo much!! Meee too!🤗😘
They look SO good!!! You took away the trimming fear for me. Im so happy for your relief❣ Thanks for always repping for the DIY-ers🙌🏾💕
Thank you so much!🤗😘 I’m happy this video helped you to get rid of that fear. Oh yes, you’re welcome. I love a good diy🙌🏾

I feel you, I just cut off 3 inches for the same reason, it feels good to get my health back❤
Woww that's awesome!!I'm so happy for you that you got your health back! it feels like such a relief right?😍
Your Locs look amazing! 🎉
I’ve seen videos of “professionals” who cut straight across vs. holding the sheers at an angle…great job!💫
Aww Dawn I love them so much they are beautiful!! I’m glad you got instant relief ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much LaToya!!❤️
This is giving me the confidence to make the cut ❤
Dawnelle!!!! You did a fantastic job! They are still long and beautiful!!❤️😍🙌🏾
Thank you soo much Tisha!! 😍 I am really loving them at this new length!

Your new length is where I’m at right now almost 5 years in.
Ahhh that’s awesome!!🤩 This length is muccccch more manageable for me than where it was before.

@@itsDawnElle thanks for the tips! You should do an updated side braid video 😊 I’m actually starting some new neck stretches this week! Thank you

Glad you made this video my locs are down to my knees almost and I’m so ready to trim them but I’ve been afraid of the change
You should use a long bonnet. Like the ones for braids. 💕 Gorgeous locs. I am watching from my cruise.

Thanks for being the guinea!!! I have less concerns for myself when I get to that point!
Ahh you’re so welcome!! Yes! Now you’ll know what to do and how to do it and you’ll have an idea of how it’ll come out. 🤗😘
Your video helped me to not completly cut off all my hair. But to embrace my Lovely Locs a hair cut is cool

Awesome job!!!!
Thank you so much!!🤗😘
14years locs.... twice as long as these, thigh length and still growing. Not easy to carry due to weight.
My back hurts so bad 😭
Did you wash first?
They look better now imo
Why did you call them Booty Length? Waist lentgth yes Booty length no
Hers are long...but not too long...yes waist length.. mine are thigh length which is perhaps too long!
You look like Waka Flocka’s sister 😂
