- What could be so difficult about racing in a straight line ? well turns out when it comes to Gta 5 an awful lot, often involving cars going flying.

I love how Beam NG cars are so fragile while GTA cars are literal tanks. They really are two completely different universes in terms of physics yet both make for fun races.
I would've liked if the vehicles in GTA had a gas tank that could run out of gas. Imagine Survive the hunt and Alex has to go fill up the gas.
@@P747 There is a single-player mod available that does just that. :)
Of course, can't mod online, sadly, so it won't work for StH.
@@Leafsdude I've seen OCRP servers with damage mods that give the GTA cars realistic damage and working gas mechanics so Alex could setup a private survive the hunt server with those mods.

If I recall, single player has always had gas tanks that you can rupture and eventually empty leaving a trail like a Jerry can. If it's a car with an exhaust that pops fire it can catch the car on fire too. This might be where modded five m servers get the mechanic from.
Something i liked (and i hope the racers liked) was that the obstacles give an idea where on the course you are.
So often on SL mk1 Alex thought there was more to the race than there was and didn't make a move he wanted to, all because it just looks the same.
Same for the viewer. It's hard to tell exactly where they are in the race, so it creates less tension and more confusion about who may or may not win the race.
Now that we know "brown pants section" means the race is almost done, there's more tension.
@@Leafsdude pity the last obstacle is brown pants, looks so easy to wipe out and take out half the field with little chance of recovery
The GTA videos now have more meaning to me since I got the game a few days ago. Been watching them for years always wondering when I could enjoy the craziness. 👍

I remember the orange race. Was an excellent moment. Reminded me of a time I participated in trolling another streamer in their GTA V race. He had to go to the bathroom right at the start, so we all lined ourselves up backwards in the starting grid so when he came back, it looked like he was the only car spawned the wrong direction.

I definitely like the flip at the end, thekicker jump, and the brown pants squeeze. Adds some extra madness without changing the simple beauty of straight line. Great additions. The bowling balls, boost pads and turbines seem out of place. The tracks strength is combining questionable gta physics with near out of control speed. I think additions that really lean into that mantra of “too much speed too little track” are far better than ones that slow cars down or completely remove player control.
The best ever update.. get rid of the wind turbines though ,and it will be even better than the best ever.

Every time i see a new failrace video my eyes glow bright red like in the memes.
This is my very favorite race, second one is race till destruction and then race the flood.
I still prefer the original’s simplicity though, it’s fun to see how fast it can get and everyone running everybody else over. This is still good though, makes me giggle like a moron.
The first straight line race was the first of your videos that I watched in your channel. I’ve not had enough time to watch your videos this year, but I’ve got to watch this!
I still prefer the original for its simplicity (honestly, the only thing that would improve it is the ending jump), but this is still awesome. A few observations:
8:55 - Can't wait to hear the panic from the filming crew as they spot the Austin Powers'd Brazen, lol
10:18 - Mic shut off. Technology is awesome!
13:40 - Is it just me, or is Aaron always at their best on straight line? XD
18:56 - One complaint I have about this track, particularly around the turbines, is it creates distance between groups of cars. The best thing about the original is the fact that the pack always ends up bunched near the end. Maybe if the turbines were moved to the end of the track, it would work better on that?

Straightline racing is and never will be the biggest use in gta races specificly

So happy to see this variation of Straight Line by Pw3n being done by the FR team. Only criticism I do have for this, is that the turnaround just doesn't feel right with this.

No hate on the old straight line, I love those videos, but after a while they have gotten somewhat stale. Thanks to expectation escalation, the old track just isn't dynamic enough to create spectacular wrecks often enough anymore. I like this updated concept a great deal.
If I may, my only critiques would be 1) get rid of the bowling balls, they break the flow, and 2) only upward spinning windmills, as I think it's more fun to see cars fly than to see them get slapped onto the road. But still, that just goes from 9.8 to 9.9, it's still a great interpretation of the concept.
_e: boost pads across the turnaround ramp would be hilarious also

Is it possible to design a circuit (or a straight) like this one in Forza Horizon 5? If it is, it mut be done, this race would be fire in FH5!

Sth is film crew only. To make it on the film crew you have to prove yourself a clean racer during the Sunday community events. Shadow is the latest viewer to make it to the film crew, Laddo was the one before that and that was about 2.5 years ago.
the "catch up" is kinda BS, I mean you landed that killer jump and spin, and you get punished for it by being slowed down.
