Great video Michael. I have a couple of Ovation guitars also. I bought my first Ovation in 1979 & it cost me over a months wages. Two hears ago I purchased the 6 string celebrity elite made in China, however, it is every bit as good as my made in USA guitar. What I like about the Ovation guitars is that they force you to play a certain way. They almost, demand, unique voicing of chords. I have never met you Michael but from the way you played I think you know what I mean. Great Video & great to find someone who loves these guitars as much as I do. Regards from Australia
Michael, thanks so much for checking out the video. Yes, there is something very special about the way these guitars ring. So glad to meet a fellow ovation lover. Cheers from Philadelphia. 🍻
Just read your comment Michael, I agree 100%. I bought my custom balladeer in 1978, Paid a little over $1500 & $130 For the case. It honestly takes you to A different level of playing style and technique, that's when I started treating each string as an individual-singing in a choir, a simple chord can turn into an absolute glorious experience when you start digging in with emotion and finesse. Hello, I am looking at a 1981 Ovation 10 yr Anniversary for an amazing deal. Original owner. It has sat for a few years. He says it does not get a signal even with new battery. They dont have a pre amp do they?
@@texastwowheeltrippin7503 the guitars I have here don’t have any pickups. There are lots of external pickup options that sound amazing though. They attach right on the sound hole and are powered with a quarter inch jack you can plug into an amp or PA I’ve used this one before a.co/d/eOLIT3L
@@MichaelGrecoGuitar I have a 1368 shallow shell and a 1768 deep shell - and the difference in sound is night and day. I use the 1368 as my daily practice guitar because the 1768 is really loud. The 1768 has a much fuller sound. (Same strings on both.)
Yeah you can't beat these, guitars, with a,stick....I have 7 in the house....the late 70s and 80s...if you can find one that has not been abused and in good shape....they are Better then the ones today
Beautiful guitar, I've had a dream since I was a child, congratulations on the instrument
@@Soundpast thanks for checking it out 🎶🎸
Beautiful Ovations. I have a 1612 and love it. Wow the twelves sound so much richer!
Very cool! The 1612 is a beautiful instrument. The heavier strings really do make a difference. 🙌
Beautiful guitar. I am a fan of the Ovation as well.
Hey Jeff! Glad to hear! Best wishes from Philly 🍻
