LOLOLOL MOMMA HOSS THAT WAS HILLARIOUS YOU GOT HIM GOOD, NOW WATCH YOUR BACK LOL. I JUST LOVE WATCHING YOU GUYS I LEARN SO MUCH WHILE HAVING A GOOD LAUGH.
Zone 9a here and new to gardening. Had no idea there is such a learning curve but I am determined. Trial and error with knowing where to plant as the amount of sunlight changes depending on time of year. And the pests - I think I finally have all the necessary products to keep them under control. Then there is the learning curve with seed starting as I don’t have a greenhouse. And then there are the dogs who sneak around back to the beds and root in them. They are drawn to the organic fertilizer smells. I have learned so much from your videos and really enjoy the format. The old goat is laying on top of the eggs. Have a blessed day!
Greg, I didn’t have much of garden this year because I had surgery. But the heat has kill every thing , It has not rain here in 10 weeks. I finally just gave up on it even the tomatoes didn’t do. Lost it all. Maybe next yrs. Will be better.
Ron, I'm sorry to read your garden news...I've had years like that ~ the worst was a huge producing garden and hail hit for 5 hours...killed everything. Rest and heal up and next year will be great!
Mr Hoss & Mrs Sheila when is a good time , I was thinking this week but I want to be sure , My cantalope minis I got from yall are doing amazing , But like our Acorn , spagetti squash & my favorite Butternut squash Can I plant now or wait till like August 1st here in Montgomery County , Texas 8B- 9 zone God bless you both & everyone at Hoss tools , I tell everyone to buy their seeds , fertilizer from yall , Just like my Sweet onions the 300+ - Im doubling this fall as my husband & myself as we are so proud of what we grew , we gave many away to loved ones & his work buddies , The Ammonium Sulfate 21-0-0 was THE TRICK & ringing them .....

Hello Hoss Fam! We are feeling the heat like you all in zone 8b, (Central Texas)!! Great information, as always. The Old Goat lounging on top of the eggs on the top shelf-CHILLIN'!!

Hi from Arvada, CO. I thought it was hot here. 86 with 18% humidity. I’m enjoying our short growing season. Canned salsa last year for the first time. Best Christmas gifts. Growing cilantro for the first time. Looking forward to salsa making again this year only this time I will be using my homegrown cilantro. Goat is napping on the eggs. Clever goat. Goat cheese and eggs is a favorite of ours.
Good morning from Young County Texas. Okra, peas, and squash in full swing here, thank you for all of your advice. The goat is in the egg cartoon. Have a blessed weekend
Here in central MS and my tomatoes are not doing it. Little bitty; tall and spindly plants. I have soaker hose under them. Never had this problem before. The aphids are all over my garden. Tried all the organic solutions and now down to Seven spray. I also have mulched my tomatoes; corn; cucumbers; okra; pole beans with pine straw and watering. It's just a hard hot year I guess; so thanks for the info on fall planting. I will get some more tomatoes started for fall; I sure wanted to can a lot this year. Going to try mama Hoss sauce too.
I’m going to plant Bella Rosa, Grand Marshall, Red Snapper, and Thunderbird in July, so hopefully one of these will do well for a second crop here zone 8 in AZ desert.
I'm in Texas zone 8b. The heat has been over 100 now for three weeks. Everything is just burnt up. Or bugs have eaten up my beans and peas. Ready to give up until it gets cooler.
Clara and Joe Drahos inTampa Florida here. Sure enjoyed your video last night. Our tomatoes are just about to s in this heat and humidity here. The old goat is laying on the carton of eggs on top shelf behind Mr. Hoss. Laughed so hard over hot stuffed pepper.. You get him good every time!!
Old goat is on top of the eggs 👀 great show! Thanks for the tips for planting fall tomatoes. This is my first year planting determinates and I think I can pull that off this year 💚
I'm just 45 but me and the wife have had a garden at least 20 years. A few varieties of maters, cucumbers, crook neck squash, banana peppers, eggplants. This is the first year no garden. My wife had breast cancer at 40 and double mastectomy and thank God cancer free but the last couple times I went with her for checkups I had pain in my knee and I couldn't keep up with her. Turns out the knee pain was from avascular necrosis in my hip. At 45 I am fixing to have to get a total hip replacement. It is what it is but if I was to complain about anything it would be not getting to plant my garden this year. It's just satisfying to me and compared to most things these days it doesn't cost alot. A little time and sweat is all. Im so used to fresh tomato sandwiches this time of the year and canning for vegetable soup in the winter! Sorry to rant. Sure enjoy the channel!
I love your show..really I like it the best..I'm in Kentucky..I grow like I have been told my whole life..all my grandparents have lived to a ripe old age..fall..weed and grass killer .then 10 10 10....take leaves and grass clippings..till it all in..cover with cardboard or plastic.. I need very little fertilizer..
Thank u for all the fall information, We have been succession planting already an adding tents on 4 legs 10x10 to put over new transplants & cover / heat, sun cloth - the tents like for camping work great - our Sweet potatoe slips we grew ourselves took great protecting them , also more tomato transplants & many different new peppers - got that okra growing 4 different kinds , Gonna try Mrs Shiela 's Salsa forsure also Freezing alot of peppers , 1st flash freeze them as easier to get out later . And fishing as MEAT IS VERY EXPENSIVE, FISHING IS BASICALLY FREE - PAN FISH , CAT FISH ..YUMMY YUMMY . God bless you all & placing another good order for our later winter seeds . Mrs Josette Tharp Montgomery County, Texas 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 The old Goat I believe is up ontop of the egg crate ..... Love yalls informative content each week..... Bet you loved that watermelon on your head .lol.
Container garden is producing great! They take the heat like a champ, takes allot of water, but they hold more water than in ground gardens during dry hot conditions. We have had heat index readings 5 times in the last two weeks at 115 and so far 27 days above 90°, yet everything keeps producing very well!
Hello there! We are a little behind this year, because it being so cold in May! Cucumbers look good We ordered from you all, was Max Pack! Still small. We sell lots of produce, got 3 different kinds of green beans ,ordered the Jade beans from you all! Have wet them good ,but have not come up yet! Been in ground 10 or 11 days. Going to give them 2 or 3 more days! We set out 50o to 700 tomato plants, Mountain fresh they stay small plants for us! Great videos.God Bless! Marlene
Old goat is on the eggs taking a nap. I'm zone 7 NE Alabama. The Japanese beetles have been horrible this year. Decimated a plum tree. The watermelons are growing like gangbusters, as are the Cherokee tan pumpkins. Tomatoes are green still. Kale doing great, but need to use some bt tonight... yellow eggs under leaves. Peppers just starting to put on. Cucumbers doing great. Trellised green beans growing like crazy and blooming.
we plant indeterminate tomatoes, so we have tomatoes until our frost date. last year we had just as many tomatoes in October as July. I trim off the bottom branches as they grow, Never letting them touch the ground. ( I'm in Michigan)
Old goat is getting broody. I'm growing different tomatoes than I normally do. Looking for a good red slicer. I picked my first ever Red Snapper. A little watery mushy. My first year with drip also so who knows. Pick my first Roadster, looks great. Taste test this weekend.
Mama Hoss, I think it’s hilarious when you slip hot stuff to Hoss😂 My husband never falls for it. Old goat is hanging out on top of the eggs this week.
Always enjoy the show! Thanks so much! I'm a big fan of those stuffed peppers too! Just made some with ground venison, sausage, rice, onion, garlic, parmesan cheese and a few cracker crumbs. It's a "clean out" type recipe for me, just whatever I have. I've got Hoss Lady Peas going now and I'll start some other type sometime near first of August. I might grow some Zippers myself! I'm going to put those Hoss Green Blaze beans to the test too for second crop beans.
Up here in zone 6 in Ohio we will be starting broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage in the greenhouse about the first week of July. Carrots, red beets and another succession planting of green beans will go directly into the ground. Peas will also be going into the ground shortly.
I did not know there was so much difference in the dates to plant and harvest in zones 6, 7, 8, and 9. My squash and cucumber plants are just maturing and I have several squashes almost ready to pick. Cucumbers I direct-seeded and have blossoms but no cucumbers yet. I just picked my first ripe tomato today. LOL. Old Goat is hanging out on top of the eggs with some other critters.
Old goat is hanging out on the eggs today! Thanks for all the heads up on fall planting dates! I just put some small sugar pumpkins in the ground a few days ago, hoping for success here in upstate South Carolina!
I bought a survival seed kit a few years back. I never used it. I want to buy a new kit. It would be cool if you guys would make a survival food kit for sale. I trust your seeds 1000 times more than any other. I see the difference in the field every time
Hi guys, there is two old goats, one sitten next to you mama hoss 🤣🤣, and one in the eggs on the top shelf. Love your show, keep up the good work. God Bless
I'm a contract broiler grower so I have tons of chicken litter. Would the litter be too hot with nitrates to amend my fall garden space if I do it now?
Greg and Shelia; I've planted Zinnias twice and have yet to get a stand. Last year they were up in 3-4 days. My sun flowers came up fast and they are thriving in the heat. We've been very dry and I think thats causing most of the germination issues. I've had a similar problem with okra. I finally got a stand but it was long and drawn out.
The Old Goat is on the top shelf in the egg tray. I'm having a tough time with ants in my raised beds. Yes, I have aphids but I have ladybugs working away at them. But could you suggest what I can use in my beds to get rid of the ants?
Hello from Jacksonville, FL! Another GREAT video! You two were cracking me up with the peppers! LOL... I'm looking forward to planting a fall garden in my small back yard. Right now the only thing growing in my yard that the heat hasn't killed off are some volunteer field peas from last year. They seem to be popping up everywhere! I keep looking at the Lemon Pixie Dwarf Sunflowers on your website. I think I might give them a try! They look so pretty! Oh, I believe Old Goat is hanging out on top of the egg carton on the shelf. Anywhoo... looking forward to your next video! Have a GREAT day!
Are you planning on planting asparagus this Fall? If so, could you do a planting instruction video.. I was reading that we plant at the same depth it is in the plug? What exactly does that mean?
for my next summer season, i'll be looking for more dwarf zinnia varieties. i plant zinnias throughout the ornamental garden; not in veggie patch rows; and the bigger zinnias do need support, as they overburden themselves eventually.
Old goat is among the eggs. Great video today. I am in zone 5 and I have been having issues with my radishes. They come out looking like strings. I never have luck in my zone. Any suggestions? Also, any ideas what Fall crops I can start? Carrots, Beets possibly? Thank you for sharing and for inspiring. By the way, please thank your staff for me. Every order I have placed, gets shipped out to me so fast. Thank you 😊
Thanks Susie, you can plant radish, carrots, beets, turnips, and kale. For the radishes, make sure you have plenty organic matter and thin them as needed.
Mama Hoss you inspired me with your cowboy peppers with pineapple. I made what I call Cowgirl Pineapple with jalapeños! My daughter in law and I love pineapple 🍍. Same as peppers just more pineapple than jalapeños! Great stuff over cream cheese with vegetable flavored crackers. Ole Goat likes eggs tonight! We eat eggs for dinner a lot as well! Love y’all’s show. Edit: I bought me Some of that Bug Buster II to have on hand. This is my 1st year doing a real garden and I’m learning! I 💕 the corny jokes!!
November 1 for an average frost date in zone 6? I'm wondering where you're getting that. Maybe in a coastal area--the zone designation isn't actually based on average first frost date, but on minimum winter temperature. I'm on the boundary between zone 6 and zone 7 (Arkansas Ozarks), and the average first frost here is around October 15.
Mama Macgyver Great show as always. It's time for the heat to take over my garden so it will be summer cover crops till August down in zone 10. Greg my sister pulls the same hot pepper trick on me too! Old goat is on the eggs above Greg's head.
Mama Hoss did Greg wrong with that sneaky pepper! I'm going to plant a fall batch of tomatoes this year. This will be our first time trying it instead of nursing the old ones through a little longer (zone 8A). The old goat was tired and taking a nap on the "egg crate" bed on the top shelf.
I felt so bad for Mr Greg. Hot peppers can just take your breath away. Thanks for the pepper recipe; I can’t wait to try it. The old goat is lying on top of the eggs. Almost missed him!! Have a great 4th of July everybody! 🇺🇸🎆🎇
Good morning Hossinators lol Old goat is chilling up on the egg shelf. I'm growing 15 tomato plants onbmy deck. I wrote the names down on the peat pots. I put them in front of each bucket. By the time I went back to right each variety on the bucket with a sharpie, the feral cat smacked them all around. So no idea what tomato is which lol
Question for ya. I planted some Siberia dwarf kale early on in a 4' by 4' raised bed for rabbits. After 10 days it never germinated. So I stuck 4 tomato plants in there. Shortly after the kale came up. Since then this kale has grown beautifully. We have had this heat for several weeks but still this kale continues to grow. No yellowing, no signs of slowing down. Not bitter. Do you have an idea why the kale has not burned up as a normal cold weather crop would. Thanks
Great show as always. Funny , every time Sheila laughed I started laughing and couldn't quit. Those peppers sound awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it
🤣🤣🤣 me too. That part had me laughing so hard my husband paused his movie- I wear headphones. Greg gasping from the heat and Sheila laughing made my night...🤣

for my next summer season, i'll be looking for more dwarf zinnia varieties. i plant zinnias throughout the ornamental garden; not in veggie patch rows; and the bigger zinnias do need support, as they overburden themselves eventually.
pullin crab grass over here lol the real 'never ending story'
Old goat is on top shelf on the eggs
yes he is, thanks for watching Tammy
Another great show. The Old Goat is laying on the eggs
correct Aaron, thanks for watching
@@gardeningwithhoss thank you once again.
Are Hossinators determinate variety? I'm kinda new learning some of this. Thanks

Old Goat Chillaxing on the eggs. Hot enough to smoke on the Texas / Arkansas / Louisiana border. Heat Advisory from 11am until Halloween….
Can confirm in the Ark-la-tex. Just miserable.
@@anitamurphy2454 - Howdy Neighbor! Yup. It’s ugly. Gonna be UGLIER this weekend
Edit: I bought me
Some of that Bug Buster II to have on hand. This is my 1st year doing a real garden and I’m learning! I 💕 the corny jokes!!
Thank you Tammie.
Mama Macgyver
Great show as always. It's time for the heat to take over my garden so it will be summer cover crops till August down in zone 10. Greg my sister pulls the same hot pepper trick on me too! Old goat is on the eggs above Greg's head.
Yes, thanks for joining us tonight Mama Macgyver
What would be best cover crop to plant in fall for raised beds that are diseased? Thank you.

@@gardeningwithhoss Thankyou
Hey Mama Hoss - do you can your pimentos for pimento cheese? And if you do, can you tell us your secrets for this? :)
No, I haven't but great idea. Need to look into that
Go Mama!! But as my hubby says pay back is twice as hard. Lol. But its so worth it!
So true!
I'm in zone 6b and my first frost is Oct 5th not Nov 1st
Thanks Candace
Old goat is on the eggs above Hosses head top of the shelf.
yes he is, thanks for watching Jonathan
Mama Hoss did Greg wrong with that sneaky pepper! I'm going to plant a fall batch of tomatoes this year. This will be our first time trying it instead of nursing the old ones through a little longer (zone 8A). The old goat was tired and taking a nap on the "egg crate" bed on the top shelf.
yes he is, thanks for watching David
What fertilizer do you use weekly

I have some amish paste tomatoes but i have lots of blooms but the heat is stopping them from making should i take them out?
no
I'm on the line of 7 and 8, do green beans do well for a fall crop? I planted Landreth and rust got them.
yes
I felt so bad for Mr Greg. Hot peppers can just take your breath away. Thanks for the pepper recipe; I can’t wait to try it. The old goat is lying on top of the eggs. Almost missed him!! Have a great 4th of July everybody! 🇺🇸🎆🎇
You are so welcome
Good morning Hossinators lol Old goat is chilling up on the egg shelf. I'm growing 15 tomato plants onbmy deck. I wrote the names down on the peat pots. I put them in front of each bucket. By the time I went back to right each variety on the bucket with a sharpie, the feral cat smacked them all around. So no idea what tomato is which lol
We've had some labels get rearranged also. Never fun
I think the new gardening season is going to go from spring to fall
Question for ya. I planted some Siberia dwarf kale early on in a 4' by 4' raised bed for rabbits. After 10 days it never germinated. So I stuck 4 tomato plants in there. Shortly after the kale came up. Since then this kale has grown beautifully. We have had this heat for several weeks but still this kale continues to grow. No yellowing, no signs of slowing down. Not bitter. Do you have an idea why the kale has not burned up as a normal cold weather crop would. Thanks
No idea, but I know of others that the kale has flourished in this heat.
