What a shitty end...I absolutely hate stories where the characters admit that they love each other and go through a harrowing moment only to play into the crappy love trope of one of them deciding what's best being for them to separate! Love is not saying you love them and then deciding to separate! If you love someone, then you should always be ready and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure you and your loved one can have that chance to see whether your love can flourish! Only the unfaithful and the cowardly run from it...

Fun fact: in medieval times, when the Succubus legend was born, there was no "going to hell" or "sucking out your soul". It was literally just a beautiful woman that came into your house to have sex with you. Which, to be fair, would also be kinda horrifying.
