Do you know what "preconceived" means? Know debating those notions with tempered admirations is what keeps you from becoming a "Dallas fan". Being able to still be "in the hunt" for a play off spot at the end of the year in this NFL still doesn't mean your a good team. If we go 7 & 9 and win our division that wont necessarily mean we had a good year. Just means everyone ells was terrible in our division. We could only "win" 5 games and still have a really good first year. It will be more telling in how we played week in, week out and how competitive those games were. So yes we could be the surprisingly better team this year. A way better coaching staff, some really good vets on both sides of the ball and a host of highly recruited young players. What I expect is to be a much harder team to beat then last year but still picking in the top half of the draft again next year. What I hope is we gel right away catching some of the better teams off guard pulling off a couple of upsets and beating the teams that are clearly bad and not looking inept as team on the field. Of course I'd love it if we pulled off a season like Houston had last year but I think a lot of people forget they won 4 or less games the prier 3 years in a row. They had mutable high round draft pic's all 3 of those years getting a lot of quality players before drafting C.J. and were still left wonting by the Ravens last year. In the long run another year picking around the top ten might just be better for more long term success. Not that I wanting to lose games but picking at 15/17 every year is all we have gotten for the most part for so long it feels like a trap to be just good enough to not get any better. Without having a good front office and a GM that knows how to work the draft and free agency. It's kind of a bad spot no matter what coach you have. Hopefully Washington has that GM and staff now that in wont matter as much were we are picking.
@@larzakalazerath6655 I agree! Cowboy fans predict a SB every year before a down is played. If that doesn’t describe the meaning of “preconceived” they need to change the definition.
BMitch, great player. He wants today’s players to go through everything he experienced. Just because it’s always been a certain way doesn’t mean it’s right.
I think this fan base and the experts who cover the team have been so used to loosing that its hard to imagine the Washington to produce a legitimate great team. I'm going to plant my flag on this hill.... I believe that the stars have aligned to give us a great owner, GM, coaching staff, incredible cap space and a ton of draft picks that fell into place for us. I believe that when all is said and done, this will go down as one of the most successful drafts in NFL history. I believe Jayden Daniels Ben Sinnott & Luke McCaffrey are going to be legit superstars along side Austin Ekeler and Zach Ertz. Expect two TE sets and creative play calling to protect Daniels who will be as good as advertised with more great plays than rookie mistakes. The offense is going to be extremely dynamic and really hard to stop. With improved coaching and the addition of key players like Mike Sainristil, Frankie Luvu, & Bobby Wagner I believe the defense will be nasty. They will get more turnovers and enough stops to keep the other team from scoring more than us. The commanders *will* be the surprise team in the NFL this year. Of course we are going to struggle more against the best teams and we are far from superbowl ready, but we can still rack up a lot of wins and make the playoffs.
DC will shock a lot of teams. As we have learned from numerous outlets, most of which being staffers and players from the Schneider era, the team was run by complete and total incompetence from essentially the top down. With top tier coaching in every position group and great football minds at the helm there’s no reason we don’t out perform a lot of expectations. While I will be happy to hit 6-7 wins this season I won’t be shocked when we are sitting at 10 wins with a playoff birth possible in weeks 15-18 #HAIL
I’m cautiously optimistic & I don’t think Philadelphia & Dallas are as good as they have been in previous seasons, but BMitch is right, those rosters are still more talented than ours. We have to see if our coaching will make up the difference. We’re not going 0-6 in the division though, I’ll BET that.
Right now I agree that Philly and Dallas have more talent. We might have more than Giants right now. Philly and Dallas have coaching changes/challenges, so we might be able to out scheme, out execute and win a few of those matches.
Our coaches were SOOO bad across the board, that just in that change alone, I can expect a big difference. The only thing our players were guilty of was listening to their coaches but also speaks to their loyalty of sticking to the program no matter what. The coaches completely failed. When you’re a coach, or in any type of leadership role in life, you can’t come in there and act like you’re the only one with the right answers. You have to humble yourself and put your ego aside. The fact that Kliff wants an open dialogue, is the polar opposite of what Bieniemy was doing and he lost the players before the season even began. To get feedback from their players to put them in the best position is the definition of collaboration. This isn’t a one person job. The only way this team will see any success is if everyone works together as a unit from the coaches to the third string unit. I think this current staff and roster is doing just that
there will be no surprise from washington...till we see them in pads we have a rookie QB and they dont win often...it is rare as hell...we have a serious question about our Oline and our ability to protect a rookie that ate sacks for a living in college....we have serious questions about edge and CB....we have questions about how well the new coaches will adapt to this new team...can they beat expectations? sure will they? prolly not.
I agree with B-Mitch! “They gotta play!” Before we can make any preconceived notions
I agree

B mitch, this is not last year. You take that 63 points with you. This is new!!!

1- Aiyuk could know the 49'ers missed their SB window. 2- JD could perform even better than CJ. 3- WSH D only needs to be average for them to be .500
