I think the reason the end scene works so well is that proleptic clues are dropped during the whole film; there is a constant teasing effect when characters keep asking Mads to dance but he refuses. His grieving, combined with his love life reigniting and the joy of seeing his students let loose pushes him to dance as this music soars. that film was fucking awesome
And also it's his character arc coming into fruition. He was boring and didn't know how to enjoy his life. It took him until the end but he realized alcohol was never necessary, he just needed to let loose and he does so with dance. Such a nice little message.

Beside the alcohol, i can totally relate to the movie, used to play football from the age 8-16 stopped at 17 due studying(so i told myself) eventually got stuck in life and felt like a boring person until i started doing what used to give me joy playing football.
Uh huh. It vents all the good and the bad. That life is what you choose it to be. That a depressed old divorcee with a sick dog can be a legend and inspire confidence in his soccer team. Or a man with some chronic pain issues can reconnect with his family. It’s less a movie about pure alcohol, and about masculinity and self expression. That when they drink they break beyond the social norms they are meant to conform to.

You know, my uncle died of alcoholism. I'm a Brazilian 18 teenarger and I just watched Druk (Another Round), I must say, this film hit me pretty well. I dream about being a Portuguese teacher, but most important, in two weeks I'm heading to make the test that is going to let me join college, if I pass, of course. This film is about life, about both, teacher and student, not about alcohol. Thomas Vinterberg dedicated his film to his daugher, who passed away 4 days before the shooting started. She died at the age of 19, my current age... I don't know, I feel like this film was made for me (wow, so egocentric). I love Mads Mikkelsen and already watched a ton of his movies. The Pusher Trilogy, Valhalla Rising, I played Death Stranding (wich he plays my favorite character), and now I watched Druk, which became one of my favourite movies. Sorry about the spelling and writting errors, I watched the movie while drinking a "little" of white wine. But, what I want to mean is... please, live knowing that you can fail. You NEED to fail, in order to learn, and acknowledging that will make you live a better life. Definetely, I agree with Søren Kierkegaard, we must fail to learn how to live and love. This movie was in my watchlist for a few months and just come to the theaters in my country so I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I didn't know anything about the movie beside the things I heard about how Mads Mikkelsen is great in this movie. I watched the movie today and there was only one person at the theater beside me. And we just couldn't move after that ending. I sat there until the halfway of credits. That dance wasn't just a dance but it was definitely something liberating. I really love the movie and this song with that ending just made eveything better. I feel like both the movie and the song will be in my mind for a very long time.

This movie was in my watchlist for a few months and just come to the theaters in my country so I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I didn't know anything about the movie beside the things I heard about how Mads Mikkelsen is great in this movie. I watched the movie today and there was only one person at the theater beside me. And we just couldn't move after that ending. I sat there until the halfway of credits. That dance wasn't just a dance but it was definitely something liberating. I really love the movie and this song with that ending just made eveything better. I feel like both the movie and the song will be in my mind for a very long time.
