Varun , Maharaja is mind blowing with a good screenplay. Unfortunately in kannada film industry a handful of stars make mass movies once in two years for their loyal fans that's it. Soori, yogaraj bhatt, santosh anandram have lost touch. Only rishab, rakshit and Raj shetty have given some hope. Last good kannada movie I watched is shakahaari which is great. As an old school watcher of Dr Raj, vishnu, shankarnag and Ambarish iam extremely disappointed with current kannada films. Malayalam movies are way ahead

One is his short film Punnagai Vaanginaal Kanneer Ilavasam - this is the favorite of Kamal Hasan sir too..he said it in many times.
Second is his debut feature film Kurangu Bommai.

Yeah, Varun. Screenplay is too good. But if you had watched Old Boy and Iratta, you could predict the climax at least 45-50 minutes before it arrived. Also, Maharaja doesn’t intrigue you as much as Iratta and Old boy do. Nevertheless, a very fine movie.
