For days couldn't get my Kenwood car radio to work. As soon as I parked to watch your video the damn thing came on by itself as I watched never touching the radio. Magic.
Wow for months I thought my Kenwood KDC-355U was fried as it kept reading PROTECT, nothing would work to fix this including hitting the reset button and multiple other tries via other means. I honestly thought the amp in the head unit was shorted out but your method worked!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!
Just a few days later it went back to protect mode....took wiring harness off a few times and reconnected, no change...left it like this until today, took harness off and put dielectric grease on plug and reconnected...then followed the procedure once again and so far it is working, let's see if it lasts...thanks anyways

my buddy mechanic fixed it on my car and it's back again. I was the one doing and undoing the battery connection so I didn't see the buttons to push but this sounds solid. Gonna try it now! thanks! Worked without a problem! You're fantastic! thanks!!!
This is my 2nd KDC-X705 unit that the Protect send service came on. I sent the first one back and it was exchanged after only using for 1 month. The 2nd one lasted 8 months before the PROTECTING SEND SERVICE came on and I was told to send it back under the 2 yr warranty. Your GREAT info got it working again. I have all new JBL631 speakers installed with the first unit installed. THANK YOU SO MUCH.😀
Thank you! Works on a Kenwood KDC-X799. I did it in my vehicle- I just unplugged the wiring harness after I hit the reset and then plugged it in while holding the 3 and 6 and it worked like a charm! Thanks again!
Thank you very much. I had gotten to the place of thinking I would have to purchase new unit and possibly have to rewire for new unit (not very encouraging) then found this video. When my son helped me go through the steps I was reserved about what to expect, but it worked and I am happy but my son is very happy since it was his car. I had originally replaced all the speakers hoping that would resolve the problem. Then I reset the Kenwood BT-365U unit and that did not work either. So then this video, and that's a happy ending.

A big thank you, it worked. Mine was inThe car so I had to disconnected the earth off the battery and then whilst holding buttons 3 and 6 get my wife to put the earth back on the battery. The problem was I left the window open and rained and a speaker got wet causing it to into send protect mode. I do however have one piece of constructive criticism though. Rather than play music can I suggest you actually talk viewers through the process. Once again a big thank you.
I tried to get mine off standby all night last night, but all it done was blink "code off" and something else. I tried resetting, other advise, nothing! This freaking worked like magic for this Kenwood KDC-V7017!!!!!! THANKS MAN!!!!
Tried this after taking my radio out of the dash, and it laid in the floorboard for a few days then I tried to put it back in and it went into protection mode for some odd reason. No wires and change or anything it was just unplugged and plugged back in , But thanks to your video I was able to get it back to working again. Thanks
I have basically the same issue. It worked fine and I disconnected the battery to do some work. When I reconnected the battery it just flashes red and I can feel a pulsing vibration in it. Mine does not say anything, it just flashes red
@@repoapps I checked the fuse it was fine, but to give a better idea, basically, it will turn on for a little bit, but then it will do a jingle like 3 beeps, and then it will shut off for a second or 2 then turn back on, and so on and so forth, But not a bad idea, I did give it a whirl
It really worked today in my stereo and problem solved. Otherwise an electrician told me to throw the stereo because he is unable to repair this. Thank a lot again bro 👍👍

My radio was not working after i find out that water make the way into cables. I did take off the whole radio unit i did remove water from the unit and then i tried this metod. I did press 3 and 6 and the radio just flashed red and turned on. Idk if this metod helper but you got my like
Some button were stucked probably, i removed the front part then shake it on my hand 3, 4 times n buttons pressed then suddenly leave them to make it sure is there any button stucked. So now I m happy . Yeahhhh its working 💪 😁
It really works, but make sure to COMPLETELY DISCONNECT FROM POWER SOURCE ( turn ignition on and off - DOES NOT GOING TO WORK) just take the radio off the panel and unplug it from the back. Thank you 😊
It worked ca a fonctionné ! I was about to buy another one... It didn't worked the first try because instead of unplugging the 12V I pulled my keys out of my car. But if you don't have a DC converter next to you try by pulling the iso out, 12v and all the speakers. And after pressing the buttons just plug the 12v iso block not the speakers. It will unlock the protect.

I found something quiet funny today however some people perhaps might also be facing this. If protect randomly comes on even after several resets. Check the speaker connectors from the trunk and make sure they are taped well. The next reset will resolved it for good 😀😀😀😀

Amazing, this sorted out my recent mech less DAB+/ BT Kenwood which refused to start. I thought it was moisture in the unit so I've had it drying on the radiator for a couple of days but this procedure made it work again, thanks! I think I've a headrest wiring issue in my '92 Eunos Roadster as the previous owner had a Clarion in this car which shut down to protect itself when it was turned up loud and this didn't occur when the headrest speakers were unplugged.
Dear friend I have this model in blue button-light colour and since 2 days I had the protect mode when the wire of the gnd catch in the negative area of the one speaker...I plugged off the 12volts transformer-converter then it works fine
