Thank you for this video. I have moved into a new rental over a month ago and have asked multiple time to be shown how it worked. Then, had the idea to check it out here :) Perfect!
Confused regarding the humidity because it seems opposite of my home and what i would choose. What i mean is, in the winter my house is so dry (roughly 25%) that i had to install a humidifier on the furnace in attempt to bring UP the humidity to a more comfortable level. However in these videos it says the opposite, you say use the system to reduce humidity in the winter... I would want to increase humidity in winter and reduce humidity in summer! In the summer months the humidity is high, today for example we had the windows open in the morning and its aprox 52% humidity before turning on the AC on the inside (outside today will be 29*C = 38*C with the 70% humidex factored ). I live in Canada between MI and NY.
I live in Calgary in Canada and the lifebreadth can't increase humidity (To increase humidity, increase using the separate control in humidifier. Your home will have separate control for humidifier). So in winter, turn only the dehumidifer to off by making sure all the center led's off in lifebreadth control. In summer set the humidity set point in the lifebreadth to the percentage you need. example 40 or 50%. So what lifebreadth will do, is if the indoor humidity increases beyond 40 or 50%, it will increase fan speed to reduce the indoor humidity and will maintain to the set point, 40 or 50%. Hope this helps.
@@Canada_Immigration_Bible Thanks for the answer! I'm in Quebec and the house is soooo dry, around 22... So I deactivated the dehumidifier in deed and bought a humidifier...
@@MS-jk3px In Calgary, the humidity fluctuate a lot. When it snows or rains, the humidity peaks and when it is just below -20c and when you run the home heat a lot to beat the cold, the humidity drops too low. Its good to keep it tracked frequently. I use Ecobee and also have a manual humidity meter to measure humidity.
@@Canada_Immigration_Bible this makes a lot more sense to me than the video. However, this is contradictory and exactly opposite to what the video is explaining. Is the video explanation misleading and incorrect? During the winter, I've always kept both my central humidifier and the HRV on. However, I always keep the HRV humidifier setting higher than the central humidifier. This way the two systems don't fight each other since the HRV is supposed to reduce humidity and the central humidifier is supposed to increase it. During summer, I turn my central humidifier off and just leave the HRV humidifier at around 50% because the natural humidity in the house is normally higher anyway.
Great video, thanks. So what is ventilation setting is best for spring, summer, fall. Generally I’ve run AC fan ON instead of AUTO. So should I be running HRV ventilation on LO or 20/40…? And then in the winter keep heater fan ON and keep 20/40 for HRV?
The manual says that the dehumidifier is automatically disabled when temp reaches 15C. Does that mean we don't need to adjust the dehumidifier during the warmer months then?
Hi guys, quick question if I understand correctly, I have the HRV on 2040. What is the perfect setting while running the AC during the summer in Canada?
The past owners of my new house passed one 20 gauge wire from the air exchanger to a DET01 timer. From that timer, he passed another 20 gauge wire to another slot where I could add a BC03 basic wall control... is that possible or do I have to fish another wire to another “in” port on my air exchanger ?
I have same question my lifebreath unit controller doesn't have 20/40 option they have only two option low and high which one i should use and how long. Thanks
Hi I live in Ontario, if I understand correctly, during winter leave it running 24/7 at 40% humidity, with high fan on. During fall, spring & summer turn off the humidity but have the fan running on low?
For winter, No need to run fan on high mode. If you have BC03 controller then just leave it on low mode and have your humidity option selected (40 or 50) then select 20/40 (idle) but turn 20/40 off while cooking and turn fan on for furnace as well to get rid of cooking smell.
Great video! Thank you. In the summer time, I'd like to turn the HRV off. But when I do, the bathroom fans stop working. Is there any way around this issue?
Hi, Thank you for this video. Question pls. I set my controller to 20/40 however the fan never stops running. Do I also turn the humidifier middle section on? For winter. Also, I have Telus app, should I also turn the fan on my Telus app or just use this system only? When I use the circulating option on my telus app and level this box off, it turns the fan on and off ever 10mins or so. Which option is best pls?
The middle section is too control humidity in house, if you have 40% selected then whenever your has more than 40% humidity, HRV will start pumping dry air to lower down humidity. In winter best to keep it on 50% and if it’s too cold than 30 or 40^

You can use recalculation mode but turn it off (recirculation mode) while cooking. In my opinion better to use 20/40 which basically bring fresh air for 20 mins and then recirculates it for 40 mins
