I just can't find myself wanting to even purchase upgrades. This bike is so slow you can't drive it to the next town. 50mph opened all the way up and its not comfortable ride. Things just sitting here. 2023 xt250
Can anyone explain to me why people who buy the Yamaha XT250 apparently never make videos that included PERFORMANCE upgrades? Pick any 250 cc motorcycle on the market, I mean a 250 that purports be a duel sport motorcycle (e.g., KLX 250, CRF 250 L, WR 250, etc.) and you will find many videos that talk about, for example, drilling the air box or removing a snorkel to better aspirate the bike; adding an aftermarket tailpipe and header; installing a large bore kit, or an EFI module; dropping a tooth on the counter sprocket to improve low end torque - anything that makes the motorcycle more off-road capable. But the XT250 videos? Always about farkles.
There are a few but definitely not many. The bike works so well no one seems to bother. And with routine maintenance have a reputation for lasting a long long time.. A 14T CS sprocket is by far the best bang for the buck if you ride in the dirt and don't cruise at 60mph on the street for too long. An FMF muffler and sometimes a power commander are the most common performance mods you will see. You can mess with the airbox but doubt you'll notice a difference. With the FI just a muffler change no changes are needed. according to most folks. A big bore kit might be available but don't quote me on that.. As far as dirt goes, if you want cheap, add 7ml of 5 weight oil to the front forks and crank the rear shock or change the spring. If you have money there are shops for the front and rear suspension.. The XT250 seems to be for a more adult, not in a particular hurry, look at the scenery type rider..

So you chose to bitch about it on a channel with 17 subscribers?
They did a pretty good job when they designed the XT.

No skid plate ?
