The fact that this Supreme Court has agreed to hear the "arguments" on absolute immunity tells us all we need to know about the Roberts Court.
Army officers take an oath to "support and defend the Constitution". If you can imagine Trump as an army officer, he would have been held for court martial and imprisoned for his actions on 6 January, 2021.
He should have been the very next day. He's the biggest Traitor in US History🇺🇸
I still wonder if UCMJ applies to former Commanders' in Chief when they violate that oath. Feels like it should.

The same can be said of Samuel Alito, in fact Alito is even more dangerously radical than Thomas.
For example, take his writing on the Roe v Wade case. In his argument to accept the overturning of 50 years of a constitutionally accepted right, he used arguments made in 1604 by an English lawyer, 172 years before America became a country.
Thomas wants to remove the right to vote and the right to work and the right to own property from women.
Alito wants to make women the property of their husbands and fathers, or the head of their household, in effect making women actual slaves, barefoot and pregnant.
Thomas believes in only one thing, money.

The founders never imagined that the LAW could be so devalued by its practitioners that it would be reduced to nothing more than another marketable commodity.
They can be impeached and removed from office like all other government elected and appointed officials.

The other thing to consider: if military commanders resign, then the despot will simply replace these commanders with people who will do his bidding. An example is the Supreme Court where a few selected by Trump are now doing his bidding.

As a European lawyer, I am stunned that any legal scholar, let alone any judge, could consider any immunity for acts which clearly and undeniably fall OUTSIDE the scope of Presidential duties and tasks. Please have the USSC explain how calling for an insurrection and sitting by when police officers are attacked and hurt is a task of a President? To objective outsiders like me, it is so obvious that Trump was acting as a private candidate, while neglecting to act in accordance to his duties as a President (defend the Constitution AND Congress against attacks).
And don't believe that if the military has to disobey an unlawful order that there won't be repercussions. Because think who will decide what's lawful. The line is just to fine! 😢

The mere fact that SCOTUS is willing to hear the immunity case undermines their credibility. This should never have gotten as far as them to hear arguments on this. We are standing on the cliff of our democracy going over the edge into darkness. The only way to put Trump into the oblivion that he deserves to occupy is vote him into irrelevance. Stop the Trump drama, and let's get back to fixing our problems.
